    • The display cases in Whiterun have many weapons and armor in them. I guess it is too show off his status and power.

    • How can you get to it? I know where it is but how to pick the lock.

    • You go into Dragonsreach and up the stairs. Then find the big double doors that are labeled as Jarls Quarters and enter. Then you should see some display cases. It should be in the first one the left if I remember correctly.

    • Where did the Jarl get the sword? It seems like it is a pwerful sword, so how did he kill the elf weilding it? Nords and Elves arent exactly friendly so i doubt it was a trade

I hope you realize you can buy elven swords. Also elves aren't the only ones who can make or wield elven swords.

    • It could be that Jarl Balgruuf admires Elven craftsmanship. What you really should be asking is why do the Companions have a Glass Warhammer, which is of Elven craftsmanship and origin, hanging on a support beam in display for anyone to see? I find it ironic how the Companions, the very descendents of the group who led a genocidal slaughter of, quite literally, almost every Elf they came across, have a Warhammer of Elven origin on display. Perhaps they too admire the Warhammer's decorative quality or effectiveness in combat? I suppose we won't know for sure.

    • I think this is dumb. There are so many more weapons out there but try to get a weak elven sword? What about blades sword? They're not only stronger but you could get them very early in the game.

    • Jarl Ballin' and Irileth fought together in the Great War and im sure it's a trophy from that joyous great time. What comes to Balgruuf not being able to slaugher an elven soldier? He's a tough old nord, he can handle it. If Balgruuf was already a Jarl 25 years ago, a noblesman probably fought mounted, as Whiterun IS Skyrim's best horse supplier. That being said, damn vampires sucked off both Skulvar and Jervar and now i cannot ride legitimately Alfsigr the War Horse neither i can get my 1 grand of septims back. I will dish out revenge for this utilising a Dwarven Crossbow of Exquisite Quality and some hard smacking electric magic arrows
