  • When i got the strange amulet the game told me to ask Calixto Corrium  about it. When i go to his shop its locked and when i talk to him it doesn't start a conversation.  I lost all my other loads and i have to finish the quest. What do i do?

    • Also, im out of lockpicks and this is for the PS3

    • Try talking to him when he is outside his shop

    • I had the same problem, guy has his shop locked even at high noon and refuses to leave. Waiting a few hours does nothing, if you lockpick his shop he gets mad and yells at you for tresspassing. I teleported him outside with the console and asked for a tour...only to have him lock me back out once he went back inside! When I picked the lock again he once again acted like I was tresspassing. I wound up teleporting him outside again and just selling him the amulet before he could scurry back inside. (And then I paid his shop a midnight visit and stole everything that wasn't nailed down for his terrible customer service.)

Since you're playing on PS3, though, I honestly don't know what to tell you. You may just be unable to finish the quest. Don't quote me on that though, I have 0 experience with consoles.

    • I had the same problem on the 360.  Stayed in his locked shop 24 hours a day, would threaten to call the guards on me for trespassing when I picked the lock.

You can still complete the quest:  I went to the steward and had the Wizard arrested.  A few days later someone else was murdered.  Went to the Wizard in jail and he told me to patrol the Stone Quarter at night - though it was actually the middle of the day when Calixto FINALLY exited.  It said he was busy when I tried to talk to him, so I followed him and re-arranged his spine with my battleaxe when he pulled a knife on a girl at the market.

Quest done, but now I'm stuck with the freakin Amulet.  At least it's weightless...

    • When the game said talk to Viola or Calixto, I talked to Viola. Then something happenened and i couldn't talk with Calixto again. He was sitting on the chair. My character is a sneaky assassin/thief but when i enter, he yelled at me. I couldn't talk to that mage neither. So, i searched and found this command: setstage mm11 105       after using this i became able to talk with the mage so i caught the real butcher but now i can't buy hjerim. I think it needs one more quest to do, it's really hard to get that house but it's worth it.

    • 72.27.241.55 here again....actually Susanna the Wicked's body was still in the graveyard, and I was able to give the Strange Amulet to it.

    • I want to get rid of the amulet but his house is always locked. Is there anyway to sell it to him without having to break into his house. I have gotten rid of once before but not sure how I did it the last time.

Here's what you do: Once you find the amulet and the journals in Hjerim, take them to Jorleif and he will direct you to where you should go: Viola for the journals, and Calixto for the amulet. Sell the amulet to Calixto (you can find him on the streets if you're having trouble getting into his house), and then accuse the court wizard of necromancy. Once he denies it, he will tell you where the killer will strike. Kill The Butcher, and you will be able to loot the Necromancer Amulet off of his body. It will be tradeable and more expensive, and it can be dropped.

    • Sometimes when you enter hjerim, all the furnitune, the bones, and the altar with the second journal at the secret room is missing, i don't know how the hell this happens, maybe it has something about the time you delay to do the quest or something, but it's irritating when you get there and find nothing there...

Still, when you buy the house, the option to "clean the murderrer's mess" still the same, so everything was supposed to be there...

I would like to know if anyone had the same issue, and know anyway to fix this! .-.

    • Can I still sell off the amulet if I have already completed the mission. As I now own the house and have had that amulet on me for a long time now.

    • On 360, I had the same problem, waited and waited for different hours.

Then, I waited a last time (it's around 11 A.M.), and search for this page to find a solution, letting the game goes on. When I was back, the shop was finally open.

I suppose you can "wait" a little (real-time) to let him open, quick-waiting wouldn't help.

    • If you´re having trouble with the house being locked (as it always has been for me), wait until the night, somewhere around 8-9 pm. Go to Candlehearth Inn (or whatever it was called), Calixto will be there, upstairs. You can sell the amulet.

    • What I did to get Calixto to come out of his house was punch him when he asked me to leave in order to aggro him. Once I had him outside, I yielded the fight, then spoke to him afterwards to sell the Strange Amulet to him.

    • He should be at the CandleHearth Hall after 5 so just go there and head upstairs he might be there

    • I know this is an old thread, but just in case anyone is still having this problem: you can also keep bumping into him in his home to nudge him towards the door (exit and re-enter if necessary to avoid a bounty for trespassing, he should remain where you left him), then once he is practically standing against the door talk to him (he'll just yell at you for trespassing) right before leaving. This should trigger him to appear outside of his house, with normal dialogue options (including the one to sell the amulet), without incurring a bounty.
