  • I was wandering around the entrance to Morrowind in Skyrim when I saw a horse on the road.  Curious, I went closer and saw an NPC in incomplete Ebony Armor (missing the boots and gauntlets) weilding a Dwarven Axe.  I killed her rather easily (discovered it was female after looting the free armor).  The enemy was titled "Redguard".  I'm only level 38, so I knew it couldn't have been THE Ebony Warrior...

    Just a glitch?

    • No, those NPCs are part of normal-occurring random encounters. Those enemies bear the name of their race and can be quite tough to kill for low level characters (I myself faced problems with one particular bugger on the road).

    • I just encountered the same 'Redguard' NPC on the road east of Broken Helm Hollow/Dayspring Canyon. Before you resign it to the 'Random World Encouter' when I targeted his body in console, RefID for the Redguard is 0010f137 and the Horse is 0010f138. As far as I know all 'random' encounters begin with 'ff' in the RefID, the 'ff' denoting the specific iteration created for the playthrough. I've looked into it as much as I could, and couldn't find any additional information on this Redguard or his mount. Anybody know what they could be tied to?

    • I had it happen and no letter of a hit on me, so I took it as she wanted to prove she could take dragonborn out. Well made quick work of her and took her ebony armor.
