She then leaned in and kissed him again, getting her fingers tangled in his shaggy hair.

    • Maria collapsed.

Jack sighed and sat down beside her. "Hey, guys?" He said weakly. "Maria and I are just going to stay here..."

        Loading editor
    • Set and Jaryl both looked around to see what hit the floor, they both looked worried.

"She okay?" Jaryl asked, unable to hide his concern as he was tempted to run over to her.

        Loading editor
    • "Yup!" Julie whispered before rusing over to Maria and Jacks side. "Hey. We need you two. We ain't leaving you behind!"

        Loading editor
    • Jack shrugged their concern off. "We'll... meet you at the castle...

      We're just...

    • Jeanele was still in the woods on her knees she wipe some tears away.

"Why can't you just forgive me Viania?" Jeanele asked herself then she stood up.

"No i'm not going to give up i'm going to find my sister and tell her sorry."

        Loading editor
    • "We'll... Get them some weapons and come back for them." Set muttered, time was going to run out, if they kept stopping and hanging around here.

        Loading editor
    • Jack turned his gaze on Set. "Yeah... Listen to him."

He then turned back to Maria and cupped her face in his hand. "At least you're getting some sleep." He mumbled, smiling wearily.

    • "B-but..." Julie whispered before sighing in frustration. "I-it's dangerous!"

        Loading editor
    • While Viania was walking with the group she had a odd feeling in her gut.

What if Jeanele is right maybe she isn't lying. Viania thought as a tear goes down her cheek.

        Loading editor
    • Jack glared up at Julie, his face angry. "And?" He snapped. "We'll be fine. Get ya weapons."

        Loading editor
    • "So's stickin' around, waiting for Aratius to come for round two..." Set reminded her before looking back.

"Unless one of us stayed, to guard 'em, while they slept."

        Loading editor
    • Jack looked at Set. "I'm not going to sleep.

      Go!"

        Loading editor
    • Set looked to Jaryl, realising that he wasn't very good in combat anyway.

"Stay here, just in case..." He told him, gesturing for Julie to follow as he didn't want anymore delays.

    • Isis kissed Jaryl on the cheek before turning to follow Set.

Jack shifted Maria so she was laying on his arm, and he lay down, falling asleep.

    • After walking for the best part of an hour, the group arrived at the cave, which had been completely abandoned by its previous owners...

        Loading editor
    • Isis stepped into the cave, glancing at the bloodstained floor, and then at the rack of sword/daggers/axes, for torture.

She wrinkled her nose in distaste. "I'll wait outside..."

        Loading editor
    • Julie sighed, looking around nervously. "This is taking too long."

        Loading editor
    • Set nodded in agreement, to both of their statements and ventured in. To his surprise a lot of weapons were left behind, presumably, because it was pointless carrying more than you needed.

The Bosmer approached them and began to pick them up, attatching the weapons to his belt.

        Loading editor
    • Isis sat outside the cave, watching the Daedric Storm grow around Aratius' citadel...

        Loading editor
    • Viania sat on rock outside the cave.

        Loading editor
    • Julie ran further into the cave systems, grabbing her sword before she came back, loaded up with a bow and a few maces for good measure.

"I have such a bad feeling about this. We shouldn't have left them."

        Loading editor
    • "I know but we didn't have a choice... The longer that we sit in that inn, the more chance there is of Aratius coming back to finish us off. Let's just... get back."

Set began to walk away, presuming that Julie would follow, however, something happened that was in her earshot. The sound of one of the discarded weapons being kicked echoed, ever so slightly, just to Julie's left.

      It sounded deliberate...

        Loading editor
    • The Dunmer whipped round, backing off slightly, the maces rattling off of eachother. "This ain't the time for games Fia..." She grumbled, seeming on edge.

        Loading editor
    • Set didn't notice and he left without her, just as he did a man in green robes approached her, his brown boots trailing along the floor.

"You'll be glad that I don't intend to play any games..." Xervish said as he appeared from the shadows.

        Loading editor
    • Isis sat up, looking at Set as he came out. "Where's Julie?"

        Loading editor
    • "Xervish?" Julie asked in disbelief. "What are you doing down here?"

        Loading editor
    • Set looked over his shoulder, frowning a little as he did.

"She's... Just gatherin' shit I guess..." He shrugged.

        Loading editor
    • "I came looking for you..." He began, wiping blood off of his face, with his sleeve.

"And helping some of the previous tennents move out..."

        Loading editor
    • Isis nodded. "I hope she hurries up... The storm looks pretty bad from here."

    • Aerin wonder if she got her Magicka back when it got tooken away from her at the slave camp she started to use flames and fire came out.

"Yes my Magicka is back." Aerin said to herself.

    • Isis nodded. "Hey, Julie? Hurry up!" She called back, staring at the citadel.

        Loading editor
    • Jaryl looked up, giving her a smile.

"That's great." Seeing the flames fly across the room.

        Loading editor
    • "Why?" Julie asked, backing away slightly.

        Loading editor
    • "I thought i will never get it back." Aerin said.

        Loading editor
    • (Sorry, family issue, but I'm back.)

Geofry was running his fingers against the cave wall when he felt something. He began to wipe away the dust muttering "This is interesting..."

        Loading editor
    • "I don't suppose you've seen that storm on the horrizon? It's coming, this way..." Xervish reminded her, gesturing to the door.

      "Aratius needs to die..."

        Loading editor
    • "Oh really?" Julie snapped. "I never knew that! It's not like we came here to get weapons to help or anything!" The Dunmer grumbled. "Now if yo don't have anything useful to say, my friends need me." She muttered, turning and starting to walk out the door.

        Loading editor
    • "Come check out this!" Geofry called.

        Loading editor
    • "What is?" Marcia asked, she'd been following him for a while.

      -

      "Maybe it wasn't perminant afterall..."

    • There was a carving of Mefula in the wall, except this time he was wearing what you would expect from a dragon priest. "Do you recognise this guy?"

        Loading editor
    • "Funny, because from what I've seen, unless you plan to fuck Aratius, you haven't exactly been preparing yourselves." Xervish called, after her.

        Loading editor
    • Isis nodded. "He always shows up, and spouts nonsense..."

        Loading editor
    • Geofry looked confused. "This carving is from the early second era at the latest..."

        Loading editor
    • Isis fell silent. "So... He's a Dragon Priest?"

        Loading editor
    • Julie spun round again, folding her arms and glaring at the vampire. "What have you seen bat?" she snapped, in no mood for his degradation.

        Loading editor
    • "Dragon Priest?" Marcia asked, sounding like she was surprised by it.

      "He must be very powerful..."

        Loading editor
    • "Who kno- wait..." Geofry brushed of some more dust to reveal some old nordic runes.

        Loading editor
    • "I've seen what Aratius has, I've seen what he's capable of... If you're going to beat him, you'll need my help, if you want to match him." Xervish followed her, walking along the corridor.

"Aratius and I were always on par as far magic goes and I'm stronger than ever..."

        Loading editor
    • Marcia got a closer look...

        Loading editor
    • Isis glanced at them. "What does it say?"

        Loading editor
    • The female Dunmer sighed. "Okay fine." She grumbled. "Just...don't eat any of my friends yeah?"

        Loading editor
    • "It's a poem:

      Older than Nirn,

      Cousin of Gods,

      Uncle of Dragons,

      Son of light and dark,

He'll come to you and send you off,

      In times of great peril,

      but beware,

for when all is said and done,

      He'll take you away,

Not for a week, not for a day,

      and forever,

        Loading editor
    • "Why the hostility? I don't recall ever devouring your friends, even if they are repulsive..." The Dunmer grumbled, lying through his teeth.

"Anyway, Aratius is the target now..."

        Loading editor
    • Isis shivered. "So... He's here to steal my soul?"

        Loading editor
    • "I have no clue... but whatever he plans, it isn't good."

        Loading editor
    • "He's here to try..." Set grumbled, looking back at her.

"Whatever the case, no one's gettin' your soul."

        Loading editor
    • Isis giggled. "I'm to mean to have my soul stolen, right Set?"

        Loading editor
    • "It doessn't matter." Julie sighed, rubbing her hands down her face. "Let's just...go. Please"

        Loading editor
    • Geofry got out that book again and resumed writing in it.

        Loading editor
    • "No... Your soul's too good for his grubby hands." Set corrected her.

      -

Xervish nodded, agreeing with her as he followed her down the corridor.

      "How's Solaris?"

        Loading editor
    • Isis chuckled. I don't know, Set... My soul is pretty black...

But then, she thought to herself, And I let Mefula mess with my soul...

        Loading editor
    • "I...don't know." Julie admitted sadly. "He's disappeared..."

        Loading editor
    • "Did that thing with the nord work?" Xervish probed as the companionship came into view.

      -

"I think that's true for most of us Isis... But you did okay." Set replied, with a smile, not noticing Julie and Xervish.

        Loading editor
    • Isis nodded, and rubbed her pale arms. "Thanks." She murmured, but she seemed distracted.

      And... Afraid.

        Loading editor
    • "Isis... Is everythin-"

      "Vampire!"

Set looked up to see Xervish approach, accompanied by Julie, a Breton shuffled from out of the darkness behind them, she went unnoticed by most as she took her place by Xervish's side.

"Imbecile!" Xervish called out, mocking his  shocked tone of voice.

        Loading editor
    • Isis raised her head and stared at Xervish. "Welcome, Vampire.

      Why have you come?"

        Loading editor
    • "Easy guys." Julie whispered, glaring at Xervish as if his presence complicated matters. "He's here to help us kill Aratius."

    • Isis continued to glare at the Vampire.

        Loading editor
    • "Oh relax, if I wanted you dead, I wouldn't have casually strolled over to you, with Eilonwyn..." Xervish grumbled, rolling his eyes at their stupidity.

        Loading editor
    • "Sorry, it's just that I don't trust people who destroy peoples' minds!" he gestured to Arianne.

        Loading editor
    • Isis turned away from him. "Well, then. Let's go kill Aratius."

        Loading editor
    • "Right so." Xervish replied, to Isis' suggestion.

As they set off he lingered, so that he was beside Geofry, ready to make it clear.

"For the record, the ones who recruited me gave her to me like that..."

        Loading editor
    • "Recruited? Ah, so someone hired you to turn us into mindless freaks, I get it." Geofry hissed, his distrust in his voice.

(Dangit, delay please! I'm going raiding D:)

        Loading editor

Hell, if it was just her attacking Aratius, she'd be fine...

But Set wouldn't let that happen, so she would try to keep Jaryl out of danger.

Her crow had told her that Aratius had an army, but she saw no sign of his archers on the walls...

Inside, stood Cyrus, dressed in Black Armor, and...

Along with a large group of mist-forms.

"I mean, there might not even be a wedding. It depends on whether we survive all this...shit or not!" Julie stopped talking as she concentrated. She began sprinting to the Mist-Form closest to her, her sword trailing along the ground as she brought the blade upwards, catching the creature in its chin and slicing its head in half.

"I am not weak..." She murmured, as she panted tiredly, the signs of her mental strain from her time in the Soul Gem still visible.

      "Not weak..."

The Dragon up on the dome turned its eyes on her for a moment, and Maria collapsed, slumping forward.

      The Mist-Forms jumped on her.

      Luckily, Jack arrived.

He grabbed the Mist-Forms by their shirts and tossed them bodily away from Maria, his face terrifying and angry.

He grabbed her and cradled her in his arms as the ground cracked around them.

Jack grabbed Maria and rolled out of the way, as the ground gave way.

He held on to Maria for dear life, screaming, "Some one help! Please!"

      Everyone was too busy, though.

He held her feverish hand, not noticing the ground beginning to crack again.

      "Some-"

The ground gave way, waking Maria.

Jack was hanging onto her with one hand, and the edge of the ground with the other.

"Jack!" Maria wailed. "Save yourself! Let me go!"

Jack looked down at her. "I'm not letting you go..." He whispered. "Never again."

His hand released the edge of the ground, and they fell.

Maria screamed, clutching to Jack's hand and pulling them closer.

(I think someone can't read when it gets late...)

(Actually, my post was late. I posted it and then refreshed to see another three posts since. XD)

Xervish and Set were cut off from the rest of the group, they fought together, taking on the vast bulk of the horde, completely oblivious to Julie and Maria's struggle as they were lost in the crowd.

"Get the fuck out my way!" Set immediately snapped at one of the mist figures, which approached him, in an effort to be intimidating. It didn't work though as Set wasn't remotely afraid of this creature...

The creature failed to oblige and so, Set marched towards it, letting his sword hang by his side before he raised it in the air and struck down on the creature. It burst into a cloud of smoke as he brought his sword down on it, not nearly as satisfying as killing a living thing...

The Bosmer turned around and slowly marched towards his estimated direction of the Julie and Maria but the mist creatures were so thick, it was very difficult to tell which way was the right way to go. He had been cutting through these mist forms for what felt like hours and he quickly noticed that he was slowly getting surrounded; his aggression and skill were the only things keeping them at bay.

"Where..." He panted as he felt some sweat roll down his face and stick to the scab on his cheek.

      "Where the fuck is Xerv-"

He was cut off as one of the mist creatures leapt through the air and attacked him, holding its sword above its head and bringing it down on him. He managed to raise his sword arm to block it but it trembled under the force of the blow, causing him to stumble back, almost dropping his sword.

Set eventually built up the strength to return the strike before spinning around and decapitating a shadow creature that was coming up behind him. The Bosmer pushed forward, desperate to get through to find Julie or Isis as he feared for both of their safeties. He continued to push through, jumping up and head butting one of the mist figures, causing it to stumble back before he rammed his chest into its stomach. He ran over to the next one and smashed his hilt in its face, repeatedly as if he wanted to punish every enemy that got in his way individually.

      -

Set had been working through the mist forms for hours, finding himself heavily fatigued as he doubled over and began to pant, heavily as his legs turned to jelly. He was going to give way, any second now and when he did, it was over...

Julie... He groaned and took another step forward as he saw another mist figure approach, having to wrap both hands around the one handed sword's hilt as he clumsily swung it upright, taking off the creature's head. To say that he was losing hope was an understatement... Every mist creature that he killed, another seemed to take its place. He wasn't even sure if had moved at all, over the last fifteen minutes, all he knew was that he was getting surrounded and he was running out of time.

The Bosmer rolled his shoulder and continued to march on, this would be over soon. It had to be...

      Had to be...

Set clutched his fist once more, bringing his sword up to his eye and marching forward again, striking diagonally, left and right as he hacked and slashed his way through a few more mist creatures. This was a waste of strength and effort as he found himself surrounded again, it was like they had built a wall around him, to stop him from intervening...

"G-Give me a f-fuckin' break..." He slurred, doubling over so that his sword was touching the ground, he was barely able to keep his head up and look them in the eye. Those featureless, laser like, eyes of the mist people just stared at him as they slowly advanced, Set did his best to build up as much anger as possible, to replenish his strength but his anger reserves had been depleted as he found himself overwhelmed by despair...

The figures just surrounded him, closing in and obscuring his vision as they homed in on him, like they were giving him the go ahead to drop his sword. The hilt slipped out of the Bosmer's grasp and fell to the floor, with a clatter, the mist warriors closed in on him, closer and closer as he dropped to his knees.

No... Set couldn't even think anymore as he felt a boot press against his arm and push him onto his back, looking up at the mist figures as they stood over him, their weapons raised, ready to bring them down and finish him off.

He kept his gaze fixed on the swords above him as they hovered over his body, watching them as they were brought down, unable to resisting wincing and shutting his eye to block it out.

      -

Set didn't feel any pain and if they were going to kill him, they would have done it by now. Something was stopping them...

Suddenly, a bright light hit his face, causing the mist figures to turn around and face it as something emerged from the carnage. The Bosmer opened his eye to see one of the mist figures look around, only to get hit by a life-drain spell, which caused it to dissolve into a red mist and flow into the one assaulting it. Prompting the rest of them to look up and see their attacker, they immediately left Set as he was in no condition to fight and they approached the mage, ready to deal with the threat as quickly as possible.

All ten of them burst into a cloud of red smoke, which hovered in the air for a second before drawing towards its master. The Mage immediately began to approach Set, standing over them as a silhouette as the bright light from behind obscured most of their features. His eye widened as it approached and immediately cast a paralysis spell on him, ensuring that he couldn't move before it knelt by his side and got to work.

The figure grabbed hold of his cheek and rolled his head to left, so that it was in his blind spot, whether this was deliberate or not was uncertain. He immediately felt pain in his neck, a small incision had been made with a blade but he didn't feel like he was losing blood, even if the cut did sting like hell.

      -

Over the next few minutes, he faded in and out of consciousness, whenever he was awake he felt cold and clammy... I like something dead was inside and whoever this person was, they seemed to be touching the cut on his neck a lot, though it didn't hurt anymore. In fact... he felt nothing...

He lay there, limp as the mage continued to 'work' on him, unable to think or feel anything, his only movements were the occasional, involuntary shifts, from where the mage had touched him or leant on him.

After what felt like a few hours, which could have been for all Set knew, he heard the zapping sound and an overwhelming light hit his retina as he faded away for the last time...

She whispered to herself, panting heavily as Fias magic kept a large portion of the army at bay. "M-maria...J-jack..." The Dunmer extended her hand into the shadowy depths, unable to see anything. She didn't know if they were alive or dead. "I-I...I couldn't protect them..." She mumbled to herself, almost crying now. "I r-really am w-weak..." "It wouldn't be so bad but there's no end to these bastard things!"

    • "Then you're useless and I'm wasting mytime talking to you!" The Female Dunmer snapped back, angrily rushing off into the crowd as she cut a line through them. She began calling out his name again. "Set!? Set!!"

    • Xervish rolled his eyes and followed her, realising that she was his only ally right now.

He continued to detect life around him but as he said earlier, the mist figures seemed to be blocking his efforts...

    • Julie stopped in the middle of a crowd. "I..." She paused, her sword shaking in her hand as she stared down several of the creatures. "He would've heard me by now..." Her sword shook faster, tears building up in her eyes as she recklessly charged in, not caring for all the cuts and stabs she was recieving. The Dunmer slashed quickly, spinning round and dispatching most of them. "Please...Set...Answer me!"

    • Xervish continued to blast his way through the mist creatures as he tried to keep as many away from Julie as possible, even if she was an emotional wreck, she was his only ally in this place.

"Do you think that you can hold your own for a second?" Xervish called over the sound of clashing swords as he suddenly had an idea.

    • (Sorry! Been reading patch notes for FFXIV :P)

Julie glanced up, not looking at the vampire as she lowered herself. "I can handle myself Xervish." She said harshly, waiting for more creatures to attack.

      "I'm not weak..."

    • Xervish cut her off by exploding into a red mist, turning into a cloud of bats and flying up in the air, to get a bird's eye view.

After a few moments, he came back down, panting heavily as it took a lot out of him.

"N-No... No sign of him, though I see a mage, a few clicks to the west... that other Bosmer, 'Fia' was it?"

        Loading editor
    • "W-where is he then!?" Julie shouted, whipping round and glaring at the Dunmer, her disregard for everyone else was very clear. "H-he can't be...N-no..." Julie spun round again, charging forward some more, yelling in grief with tears streaming out behind her.

      "Set!?"

    • "He's gone Julie..." Xervish stated, like her reason for being so distressed wasn't good enough.

    • "No!" Julie insisted. "He can't be. He's strong! Unlike me, he can survive!" She spun round again, still searching frantically for her Bosmer. She wouldn't give up until she had confirmation. "He's alive. He's here. He HAS to be!"

    • "He may be alive but he is not here!" Xervish replied, through gritted teeth.

"I've just been up there and looked and he isn't anywhere to be seen."

    • Julies eyes welled up and her sword clattered to the floor. Her world slowed down as she turned to face the Vampire, her breathing heavy and ragged as she began to look...defeated.

      "Then where is he!?"

    • "Perhaps Aratius has taken him?" Xervish suggested, though he didn't truly know.

"I can't think of anything else..."

    • "Isis is up there fighting Aratius right. Now." Julie seethed, pointing to the exploded dome of the tower as if it wasn't already clear enough. "Why would he take time out of THAT to vanish Set away." She sighed loudly, it turning into a pained wail of frustration and loss as she shuffled through the dirt to pick up her sword again. She didn't even bother cleaning it before venting her frustrations on a Mist-Form, hacking its leg off and stabbing at it repeatedly.

        Loading editor
    • "It was just a suggestion, I didn't say that he was directly involved..." Xervish grumbled, spinning around to see three of the mist creatures before his eyes. He charged up two shock spells and blasting the three of them, causing them to expand and burst into a thick cloud of smoke.

"I mean... If its not him, then who?"

        Loading editor
    • "I don't know do I!?" Julie snapped. "Maybe Telemachus or Agatha..." Her breathing increased as she drove through a few more creatures. "How am I going to find him again..."

    • "Perhaps we'll have a better chance of finding him, if we regroup..." Xervish muttered, growing a little frustrated with her hysteria. He respected Solaris, a lot more than he respected most but Eilonwyn could be so... unstable at times. One of the few things that Xervish struggled to respect about Solaris was his judgement as his own personal feelings often got in the way, when picking his officers.

"Maybe if we have an extraction point, Set will be able to find us."

        Loading editor
    • "Crovenhoft..." Julie mumbled, spinning round and decapitating another Mist-Form. "If we're gonna find him anywhere after this, it'll be there." She whispered, her breathing still heavy. "If he's okay..."

    • "He will be, he might have just gotten lost or something, don't assume the worst just yet." Xervish advised, looking around before hitting another mist creature with a lightning bolt.

      -

Set awoke in a dark, dank, almost dungeon like room. He was lay on a slab, which had been propped up against the wall, his wrists and shins were strapped to it with leather straps and a small light hovered above his head.

The Bosmer groaned as he awoke, wincing as the little cut on his neck stung from where someone had cut it. He immediately began to look around, growing panicked by his lack of knowledge as far as his surroundings were concerned.

      "J-Julie!?"

As if they were responding to his cries, footsteps approached him and someone in green robes emerged from the darkness. Their clunky boots stepped on after the other as their pale hands, with long, slender fingers came into view before her face was revealed to him, chapped and scarred.

"S-Set..." Marcia choked, tears building up in her eyes.

      "I'm so sorry..."

    • "I'll try..." Julie whispered, sniffing as she held back the tears before charging off infront of Xervish and killing a few more forms whilst his lightning arced over her.

    • "Have you seen anybody else since this thing began?" The Wizard asked, feeling drained already.

The Magnus shot's effects weren't as dominant but he could still feel its hold.

    • "Maria and Jack fell down a hole. Probably dead." The Dunmer said, her voice emotionless as she denied the possibility from herself. It was taking everything she had to not run off and search for her Bosmer.

      "Haven't seen anyone else."

        Loading editor
    • "Other than Set, me neither..." Xervish muttered, looking around.

"Let's just... keep focussing on finding a contact point, where we can regroup."

    • "How about inside the Citadel?" Julie suggested, motioning towards it. "I doubt it'll give us long..."

    • "Very well, you lead the way and I'll take out any that you miss." Xervish agreed, giving her a nod.

"And... Eilonwyn? Set will be fine..." He added, hoping to keep her mind focussed on the task at hand.

    • "He has to be..." Julie nodded, cutting her way through the Mist-Forms as she made a beeline for the Citadel.

I’ll have nothing to live for if he isn’t…

        Loading editor
    • Xervish continued to push forward, she was heading in the right direction.

He never got to fight alongside Eilonwyn or Solaris as they were rarely in the same room together, Xervish was given his position as a no-brainer, considering that he was highly qualified and he didn't exactly have any form of relationship with either of them.

The Dunmer was tempted to transform, making this a lot easier but he had to save his power for stronger enemies.

    • Julie swung around her. She moved so fast it was like the very air was turned into a weapon for her to use. Mist-Forms fell to her blade and exploded to Xervish's magic. She had lost so much in such a short time, she felt numbed. Cuts appeared without her realising as she kept on ushing forwards...

    • Xervish was growing more and more frustrated as the mist creatures built up, he began to cry out in frustration as he blasted more lightning at them. In truth, it was actually starting to hurt to cast spells but he wasn't about to let up, not when the citadel was in sight.

"We're almost there, don't let up for the sake of the Nine!"

Isis raised her hands, as if to cast a spell, when she noticed Julie and Xervish.

"Julie!" She called, glancing at them.

In that moment, the dragon, Aratius, struck.

His head came down like a flash.

When it came up, there was a dent in the ground, where Isis should have been.
