  • I charged in with the full set of steel plate armor, a steel shield, a ebony war axe, a imperial bow upgraded to surperior, 700 steel arrows, and used only Dragonrend as my shout. My level? 19. Can anyone top that?

    • The question's really void. :P

At the end, Alduin doesn't actually "die".  His Soul isn't even absorbed by the Dragonborn (not that it can be anyway).

Alduin will eventually return to Tamriel one day to fulfill his intended purpose after being created by Akatosh.  There will be no Dragonborn to stop him then (as the Dragonborn in TESV is the LAST Dragonborn of the current Kalpa, assuming there will be anymore in the next).

(Edit): In any case, I most recently defeated Alduin at Level 100 whilst playing on Legendary Difficulty with some Mods, using a full set of enchanted Daedric Armor (+Shield) and an enchanted Dragonbone Mace.

Same, but I was a Vampire, Nord, Male, and I had upgraded all my armor to Legendary. My One-Handed was at 100, same with my Block, Light Armor, and Heavy Armor. Also, I had all my stuff enchanted. My shouts? Unrelenting Force. Clear Skies. Dragonrend. I ran up to Alduin, jumped on his back, and slammed my Sword into his skull. I left my Weapon there, lying in his skull, so when I returned for the last time I wouldn't lose my blade to some damned thief over the years. I also left my helmet, the piece that saved my hide more than once over the years. When I left, I made a vow. That I'd be back for them, and Miraak would save me a spot.

Last Dragonborn just means most recent I think, the greybeards mention something about other dragonborns in the fourth era. And a dragon (with its soul still attached) can only come back if Alduin resurrects it... so I think he's screwed.

Legendary Dragons aren't too threatening when most incoming damage is resisted (either through Armor or Magic Resist) and sneak attacking results in three-shot-kill.

I played on the Legendary Difficulty. And I'm not using any Exploit because I think that's a hassle...

First, I use Dragon Aspect to my self. When Alduin preparing for his breath attack, I use Dragonrend immediately. He then fall to the ground. I use Power attack > Normal attack > when he want to bite me, i use power attack again to knockback him (his head). He flies again, I use dragonrend for the second time and Power attack him, then normal attack him. No healing potions and he already died (I only get some scratches from his breath attack).

Wearing the Telvanni Robes, with a Copper/Ruby circlet. My Ring, Circlet, and necklace all give me 100% destruction, so spells don't cost anythging. The temple priest boots offer a (exploited) 100% resistance to fire. I could walk through Alduin's Flames unharmed.  Equiped with Nahkriin's Dragon Priest Staff (glitched so I could enter Sovngarde with it) in one hand, the other had Wall Of Storms, occassionally switching to Lightning Storm when Alduin would fly off. Start the fight with Dragon Aspect, and cast Dragonskin. Used Dragonrend to knock him down, and whenever Alduin would summon Meteors with his shout, I used Storm Call. Jarrin root alone deals 100 damage to the one who eats it, but when mixed with another ingredient, it makes a poison that deals about 7,000 damage if your alchemy skill is 100 and you have strongly enchanted Fortify Alchemy gear.

    • Basically, you can only kill Alduin at level 1 if you do not kill any enemy (except two, Alduin included) and with glitches to go through walls. And you need to know lots of things, for example, where Esbern in emprisoned to free him before you're even asked to and where is Septimus Signus so that you can pickpocket his artifacts. You need glitches all along, otherwise you can't even see the beginning of the fight against him. But that's pretty nice even with glitches, though.

I killed Alduin, level 16, with fur armor and my fists. No potions (I had stored them all in my house because dumb) or any enchantments whatsoever, and I didn't use any shouts, I didn't use any spells, and I just went into it without hiding anywhere. And he diedededed.

Ah, I just posted in the other thread, "What level did you kill Alduin" and I said the same thing, that I cannot beat him by myself with these Dragon combat mods either.  I did learn how to stay alive against him, but I was making no progress in killing him.  I did get off the mountain alive with my balls handed to me, and will bring followers (tried by myself) and better armour next time.

I realize many/most of these posts are simple brags and/or worse, but those who may have fought him at bizzarely low level I cannot reconcile unless there is something really wrong with the vanilla Skyrim, and/or the combat leveling system.

    • Normally with no mods Alduin levels along with you i think, the lowest he can be is level ten and the highest is level one hundred. You shouldn't (unless some mod allows it or you try commands) be able to take followers with you.

I just fought him a few days ago on my latest playthough, lots (and lots) of arrows and Dragonrend, the three heroes did a pretty good job of tanking him.
