  • Any time I brawl in any situation (quest, bet, ect.) my opponent punches me 2-4 times, sheathes their fists, walks away and acts like they won the brawl. Striking the opponent after he/she lowers his/her fists results in an bounty and everybody turns hostile. I've tried everything, including the Brawling Bug Patch, and nothing works. As far as I know my mods are in the right order. Any ideas?

I will have a list of my mods up soon as it is quite lengthy.

    • Can only recommend the old-fashioned but rewarding way of dealing with unpredicted behavior due to mods in Skyrim: disable them all and activate them just one by one until you find the culprit.

    • I can't do that. WAY to many. It would mess up the save. Mod list coming soon.

    • I have 254 mods active myself. I have done it more times than I care to remember due to broken games with conflicting mods. Trust me, it's worth it, if you really want an abundance of mods with zero conflicts and a fluid gameplay.

Or at least deactivate those you have a strong suspicion might tamper with scripts involving the brawls. For example: a mod which retextures terrain wouldn't have anything to do with that, therefore you can leave mods like those alone.

Besides, deactivating mods upon loading and testing doesn't mess up the save, unless you save the game in the state in which they are deactivated.

    • Thanks for the tip. I was worried because everything I've read says not to deactivate a mod in the middle of a game.

    • As far as I can see, there shouldn't be a problem. Although there are some mods here that I don't even use (as stated before I got 254 and have no conflicts between them). One example are the highly acclaimed SkyRe plugins.

A bunch of mods we can rule out, since I am pretty sure they have nothing to do with the AI of brawls:

Hothtrooper44_Armor_Ecksstra.esp, Hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp Version 7.1, Ket_ARMONIZER_LListsNPC.esp, KJ Tattoos, Scoped Bows, Immersive Sounds, RND_AnimalLoot, Enhanced Lights (with ELFX plugins).

A wild guess of mine would be that SkyRe_EnemyAI.esp and/or SkyRe_Combat.esp conflicts with the Brawl Plugin, because I am guessing that these changes combat against NPC's, am I right? (Although, I could be wrong. I am just merely speculating here.)

My tip would be to start a completely new character with all SkyRe plugins deactivated (Do not intend to keep this one though, I always create sort of "trash" character just to test which mods work with each other). Have him/her go to the closest brawler (Uthgerd the Unbroken in Whiterun for example) and start a fight. Check if the bug is gone, if not post anew.

About "safe saves": Deactivating a mod and loading a saved game in which the mod was included may/may not cause a CTD (crash to desktop), but that doesn't mean that your save is broken. Simply activate the deactivated mod again and load this save anew and it should work just perfectly. However if (when loaded upon a deactivated mod) you decide to save the loaded game with one or more mods deactivated, you can consider this save to be "dirty" or "broken". It might still be playable, but there are higher risks of unstable gameplay.

In other words: Do NOT save your game on your favourite character if you have loaded a saved game in which there were previously mods that you now have deactivated before loading.

If you are still not sure what I am talking about, just ask. I may not be an expert on the subject, but I have my fair share of experience with mod conflicts.

    • Will try it. Thanks.

    • Not sure how, but I fixed it. I added Wet and Cold and it went away.
