  • Updated: If you could create your own dragon priest mask what would it be called, is it light or heavy armour and what enchantments would it have?*

(*If one were to create their own dragon priest mask, some things should be noted: the dragon priest mask must have its name in the dragon tongue consisting of three words, it can only have a maximum of three enchantments similar in number to such masks like yolsung, otar, vokun, nahkriin & krosis and Whenever it's classified as light or heavy, what it's armour rating is & what it is made of[e.g it could be made of ebony, Iron, steel, moonstone, Dragon Bone/Scales, etc, It could even be Daedric.] remember, proper measures must be taken to balance such creations within skyrim and make sure the divine Akatosh approves of it for he will be watching...)

Also, you may even write a back story on your own dragon priest mask just to make it sound awesome.

As for my own dragon priest mask, mine would be called...

"Vuldiilthur" the mask of the Dark Undead Overlord.

It is Classified as Heavy Armour

Armour Rating: 50 (can be Improved with both Daedra Hearts & Ebony ingots but they both have to be used in the process since it is of Daedric origin.)

Materials: Daedric (combination of ebony ingots and Daedra hearts.)

    Cannot be Disenchanted

    Enchantments are listed below.

1: 10% magic resist while wearing other pieces of heavy armour* up to a maximum of 30% (excluding the mask itself.) 45% if the undead wearer happens to have Necromage from the restoration tree.

2: Mitigation of weakness to sunlight For Vampire Lords, this does not mitigate the fire weakness however.

3: Retains the effects of the Lord & Ritual Stones (hence the mask's name) if an undead* is wearing a full set of Daedric Armour (Including the mask itself since it is of Daedric origin)

[*it will only work if you happen to be a vampire lord.]

The True but Terrifying Backstory behind it all!

"A Dragon Priest had been conducting a rather peculiar ritual with some Draugr (as in the Draugr giving life force to the dragon priest little by little thus keeping the dragon priest sustained for eternity.) which had gone horribly wrong because of a fairly small group of pure-blooded vampire lords that were intruding on the premises. It was Because of them that one vampire lord in particular had precariously messed up the ritual in such a way that it started causing the ritual to go haywire and undoubtedly taken the dragon priest into another dimension! That one error had sent the Dragon Priest into the realm of coldharbour under the dominant rule of lord Molag Bal, because of what had just transpired, Molag Bal had seized the Chance and Imprisoned the dragon priest in his realm with his dark & terrifying power, & it was due to the atmospheric darkness of coldharbour that the dragon priest was losing his divinity to akatosh and slowly degrading to an untimely husk, Molag Bal could feel the divinity slipping from the dragon priest & when the Dragon Priest lost his divine connection, all that was left was the mask that the dragon priest bore. When Molag Bal had seen the mask that was left, he had done the same thing he did to create the first pure-blooded vampire! (With exceptions) He had taken a shred of his own blood and dropped some on the Dragon priest's mask, remaking the masks host out of thin air and cold foreboding Darkness with, Molag Bal was undoubtly Corrupting it into something far more Darker & Sinister in the process, the dragon priest had no doubt returned from the Dead with death defying results. For the first time in the history of Divines & Daedra, the dragon priest had not only been resurrected but it had became fully daedric, more powerful than ever, the Daedric Dragon Priest now serves Molag Bal in the realm of Cold Harbour, forever claiming souls in the name of his Dark Lord, The Daedric Dragon Priest would carry out his masters instructions with extreme Prejudice, whenever it would be to just claim souls or keep inventory of the souls that worked for their master. Because of the Daedric Dragon Priest's Sucessive Streak, Molag Bal had decided to name the Daedric Dragon Priest not only to be his Immortal Champion! but to forevermore be known as...

    Vuldiilthur The Dark Undead Overlord!

It is rumoured that you could find this Daedric Dragon Priest in the Soul Cairn as he Claims souls in the name of Lord Molag Bal, but be wary for to find this Daedric Dragon Priest would be to face your own impeding doom, for not even Alduin could stand up to the Terrifying visage & Ultimate power of that which lay before him..."

    • Lahvu , Mask of Army

Its enchantment would be that when your health drops to about 30 or so percent, three leveled draugr would be summoned and fight for you for 30secs. If your levels 1 to 10, the draugr are just the normal ones. if levels 11 to 20, their restless. if levels 21 to 30 their wights. 31 to 40 their scourges . 40 to 51 their deathlords and finally 51 up their priests.

Kopraan, Mask of the Body This one would activate once your health is below 150 or so and randomly transforms you into a Dwarven Centurion, or a Dragon Priest. the Dwarven Centurion would be slow, but very bulky and can shot explosive arrows like the crossbows can, just bigger n stronger. You can also use all of the Centurions normal weapons, your just slow moving. The Dragon Priest is much more mobile(as it can glide(it the vampie lord) and has the ability to use new improved shouts. The first two are the breath shouts that now act like the dragon ones where their streams.Your destruction spells also receive a buff as well. the downside to the dragon priest is that melee weapons cant be used and you have no armor other than Kopraan

    • You also forgot about the Draugr Death Overlord, also the effects of Kopraan may have to be listed as powers when equipped and the transformations have to be temporary just like when someone transforms into a werewolf and stays like that for 2.5 minutes in-game which can be extended by feasting on corpses. But for the dragon priest form, I am sure it could be similar to the vampire lord* (*by similar I mean when it comes to reverting form like the vampire lord)

Nothing wrong with that, as an old legend goes, the highest ranking dragon priests were given masks that could defy the laws of time and space...

      Armor: Heavy

      Class:  Heavy Armor/Stealth/Alchemist

Material: Ebony at level 30-42, Daedric at 42+

Quest:  If I had to pick a quest for this mask to go with, it would be the one with the cult of Boethiah.  This Mask and the Ebony Mail would go perfect together.

      Disenchantable: Yes

      Enchantments:

Death's Grasp - All arrows are automatically enchanted with a 3 second Parylsis, all swords deal a concentrated 5 points of poison damage, and poisons that are placed in enemy pockets do 50% more damage.

Plague's Burden - Sneaking is 15% better when undetected, and Heavy Armor is 15% better when in combat.

Bio: Once long ago, in the Mytheric Era, Boethiah and Namira were new Daedric Princes.  But since they were shunned by the public and by the Aedra for being Evil and repulsive, they started to get angry.  They wanted to get back at the humans who had hated them so strongly.  They worked together one day, created a fearsome disease known as the Black Death.  They sent a Dragon Priest known as Ved Dinok With a deadly mask to fly over Nirn and spread the fearsome plague.  Humans dropped like flies, and Dragons and Aedra alike were worried about them.  A huge, underground, undocumented war happened in the gates of Oblivion between the Aedra and dragons, and Boethiah, Namira, and an army of Assassins, Spiders, Other Daedric Princes, and Lesser Daedra.  The war raged for 100 years, until the Aedra and the Dragons finally won.  The final battle was a fierce one.  Namira was banished back to his realm, his spiders savagely murdered, and all other Daedric Princes retreated.  Boethiah knew he could not win, as he saw his army slaughtered, and the Aedra coming to banish him away, maybe even to the void if they found him deadly enough.  But he fleed at the last moment, just barely scrambling away.  On his way back to the Gate of Oblivion, he stumbled upon the dead corpse of Ved Dinok, who's mask was still intact, glowing with a dark, deadly energy.  He picked it up in a hurry, and managed to get back into his dark realm just in time to be safe.  He forged a new set of armor called the Ebony Mail, and vowed to one day get revenge.  Unfortunately, he got lazy, and never really lived up to this wish.  Many, MANY years later, he lurks about Tamriel, decieving mortals around him for fun, and giving the mask and mail to "those he finds worthy."  Who knows...  Maybe the dragonborn is among them.

It was a mask of shadows. It belonged to a nightingale who crafted it in the skyforge. The mask was lost but another nightingale found it. He wasnt worthy so he was corrupted by the shadows and became a priest. He regretted that he ever picked the mask and even becoming a nightingale. He abonded Nocturnal and Nocturnal cursed him forever until his death. The nightingale needed to take care of the place forever until his death.

Do try and remember that there can only be three enchantments on a custom dragon priest mask, also, you got the first two dragon words translated right but the dragon word "In" actually means 'Master' for more info, be sure to search for the dragon language on the wiki because they do have an index that has a translation for most of the words in skyrim.

But, he was never a dragon preist, and by the time of the great uprising, he rebelled against the dragons and slaughtered every dragon who dared face him. Though, the nords welcomed him a hero, he didn't join them in their celebration. Instead, he ran far to the west, deep in the mountains, where he found the ruins of an underground city. He rebuilt the city and his trusted allies joined him and they layed traps throughout the city. At the end, in a room made of silver, gold and gems, he set his mask, on a pedestal of pure gold, studded with flawless gems. Then he left, and was never seen again.

Alteration 50% less to cast and Restoration spells cost 25% less to cast.

It is classified as light armour.

Armour rating: 45 (Can be improved)

      Cannot be disenchanted.

      Metals: Gold, Ebony and Malachite

      The backstory:

When the Nords of old migrated to Skyrim, the Dragon priests ruled with an iron fist. Except two: Otar (Correct me if i'm wrong) and Drem. Eventually, Otar fell to madness but Drem kept aware. His will was too strong. The Dovah insisted on calling Drem 'Vax' which means traitor and forced everyone else to do so. During the Nordic rebellion, Drem assissted in the battles. With the rebellion complete and Drem and the last evil dragon priest (Can't remember his name.) were still alive. Drem sensed that Alduin will yet return and wanted to keep himself sustained. He went through the same ritual as the other dragon priests, and sleep until the day when Alduin returned and Drem would leave and assist in the battle against him. The Draugr were not evil and didn't kill every tresspasser, but never allowed anyone besides themselves into the same room as Drem. However, with the return of Alduin, the Draugr within that tomb were driven mad and stopped giving their life energy to the Dragon Priest Drem. If this mask actually existed in the lore, there would be two quests in-game relating to this. The first quest, Lifeless Peace, would have you rescue Drem from the tomb of Valegah in Falkreath. The quest following that, Face of Peace, would have you help Drem retreive his mask from the tomb of Girfergh in the Pale. Inside Girfergh (which is only accesible when the quest is active) Drem sacrafices himself to open a blood seal so you can retreive his mask and staff (The staff creates an area of effect which calms down enemies within the radius. (It doesn't work on dragons.))

Drogdinok (Translates to "Deathlord," more or less)

      Light Armour: Rating 8

Material: Soul Gems (Petty for Fine, Lesser for Superior, Common for Exquisite, Greater for Flawless, Grand for Epic, Black for Legendary.)

      Cannot be Disenchanted

      Abilities:

Will of the Perfect Masters: Any Draugr that has been Soul Trapped will also be considered Turned for the duration of the effect.

Tongue of Life: Dragon Shouts Health drain equal to their damage and Soul Trap to targets. (If either are applicable to the nature of the Shout, i.e. Aura Whisper would do neither and Marked for Death would only Soul Trap)

Associated Quest: This Mask may be reforeged using a Dragon Scale and 10 of each type of Soul Gem Fragment at a unique altar in the Soul Cairn

      And one for me-

      Zahrahmiik (Translates to "Sacrifice")

Light Armour or Clothing: (Rating 8 in the former's case)

      Material: Orichalcum

      Cannot be Disenchanted

Mortal Draw: Use Health in place of Magicka to cast spells. Spells cast in this way gain a 50% increase to damage/duration.

Arcane Might: When hit by a damage dealing spell, half its damage will be deducted from magicka in place of health.

Bio: A somewhat paradoxical mask, wrought of the metal most commonly used by the orsimer, orichalcum, though as light as anything of altmeri design. In life Zahrahmiik served his dov masters as faithfully as any other priest and was gifted in turn. This maks paints a portrait of either somebody who was self sacrificing, or driven to the point of self destruction in hunger for power.

This one is awesome. It'd make playing the game as a healer/pacifist waaay more enjoyable.

History: The Dragon Priest Vokunqah was a Breton who was obsessed by the art of illusion spells, he made it his life. He gained power, and with this power he channeled into study. Ancient dragons saw this power in him and demanded he be a priest. He accepted, only if he could be one of the most powerful alchemists to have ever live. They gave him a specific task: create a potion so powerful that it breaks the laws of the universe. When he heard this he got into immediate study, playing around with ingredients, only to ultimately fail. He had no choice but to beg Daedric Prince Nocturnal to make his potions work, Nocturnal declined his pleas and casted him away to a place where he could do no harm, the shadowy depths of the Labyrinthian where he spent thousands of centuries, which only made him stronger. He received a mask like no other from an unknown spirit, a mask that could make his research a reality. He started going crazy with this new sense of power surging through him, he forgot who he was or what his purpose was. His only objective was to kill anyone who broke the tranquility in his chamber.
