  • I noticed that no race in the TES games originated in Tamriel, especially the human and Mer,( Nords came from atmora, Redguards, come from Yokuda, Bretons and Imperials come from interbreding with Nords, and all the mer races come from aldmeris) But the place of origin for the beast races was never specified, but I noticed that There are many beast-like races in Akavir, like the Ape people. Could the Khajiit be descendants of the Ka'Po'ton? And the Argonians be descendants of the Serpent-people ( forgot the name)

    • The Khajiit likely used to be Bosmer which were changed by Azura into their current state.

There is no background information on the origin of the Argonians, safe that they have been on Tamriel longer than the Mer and Humans.

Where did you get that? I know that the khajiit have somethibg to do with the moon and azura, but I NEREVAR found a page that specified that.(pun intended) Can you link me to It? Also, I think that the tiger-people of akavir and khajiit are a little too alike for they to not have any connection.

How can you know they're "too alike" even though you never saw them? We know descriptions of them, but nothing else.

"But Nirni soon forgave Lorkhaj for Nirni could make children. And she filled herself with children, but cried because her favorite children, the forest people, did not know their shape.

And Azurah came to her and said, "Poor Nirni, stop your tears. Azurah makes for you a gift of a new people." Nirni stopped weeping, and Azurah spoke the First Secret to the Moons and they parted and let Azurah pass. And Azurah took some forest people who were torn between man and beast, and she placed them in the best deserts and forests on Nirni. And Azurah in her wisdom made them of many shapes, one for every purpose. And Azurah named them Khajiit and told them her Second Secret and taught them the value of secrets. And Azurah bound the new Khajiit to the Lunar Lattice, as is proper for Nirni's secret defenders. Then Azurah spoke the Third Secret, and the Moons shone down on the marshes and their light became sugar."

    • Hey, Thanks! But, why did you say that the Khajiit came from the Bosmer? Just because the book says "forest people" doesn't mean they're Bosmer, right? Plus, they didn't have shapes yet, so they for sure weren't bosmer. But Nice Catch Pelinal, you cyborgs.time-travellers-crusader-elf-killling knights never stop amazing me

    • Though I hardly ever participate in lore discussions I like following them.  They pique my interest and this discussion caught my eye.

    • A specific source isn't in my head, but I thought it's been implied the beast races were the original inhabitants of Tamriel before Man and Mer arrived?

I was also told this during my short-lived history thread series where loremasters spilled their guts to me concerning the events of each Era.

    • I prefer to think that khajiit are de-volved forms of the Ka Po Tun. They look alike and it is likely that they had an exodus alike to the chimers from their homeland and came to Tamriel. As for the argonians I have four theories

      1) They are evolved Snake People (forgot the name)

      2) Their was a race on akavir like the argonions but they were massacared like the humans on akavir. The ones that escaped became argonion

      3) They are just evolved lizards

      4) They are evolved hist trees

      What about Imperials?

    • Khajiit are most likely either transformed Bosmer, or were there from the start (like the Aldmeri, Atmorans, and Yokudans).

I once read something about Black Marsh being a chunk of some Daedric realm that settled on Nirn at some point during the Dawn Era, so maybe the Argonians are actually a type of Daedra! but probly not.
