  • While playing Skyrim it always bothered me that you would occaisionally need to promise your ever lasting soul to a Daedric Prince or whoever. Specifically I am talking about how when you are a werewolf you will spend your afterlife with Hircine, or if you finish the thieves guild quests you're pledged to Nocturnal.

Like any good Nord Sovengard is my only desire!

Playing the game (and I have played the game through about 6 times now) I always assumed that these pledges were a formality, as if your afterlife wasn't always given away, or simply not a big deal, as if the such promises didn't matter to the Dragonborn.

So, I will admit that I am not 100% up to date with the Lore. Is there some kind of clause in the imaginary Dragonborn contract that excludes him from these deals or is the Dragonborn simply too powerful to be bound to a mortal afterlife? (Talos instantly springs to mind here).

    • well, i think there should be something like that, cause can you tell me where a werewolf nightingale dragonborn, who serves Sithis, Namira, Vaermina, Azura and all the other daedric princes will go after dead?

      Its just not possible

    • I think it is out of their control. They still are not powerful enough to choose something as big as the afterlife.

    • Likely not, but canonically the Dragonborn doesn't do all of that anyway, he might end up being stuck with Herma Mora when he dies though

    • i think that a dragonborn who has done all sidequests will probably go to nocturnal's realm, as she's the only one they have actively sworn an allegiance to (they never say that they'll spend their afterlife in Herma-Mora's realm, and sithis doesn't count because the dark brotherhood is being tricked by Mephala).

    • The Dragonborn will go to Apocrypha when he die. Remember the last words of Miraak "may he be rewarded for his services as I am".

    • Either the Dragonborn gets to choose, or there's gonna be one hell of a war between the various entities with a claim to their soul...

    • If I could pick I would pick sheogorath's realm. Or hircine's hunting grounds;or maybe molag bal's realm; I don't really wanna go to sauvngarde when I die I wanna stick out and be "THE HERO WHO DIDNT GO TO SAUVNGARDE!!!!"

    • Who says they'll stay dead? There are ways to avoid death, especially for a dragon soul.

    • No one even mentioned spliting soul into pieces :P
