  • Mine is Soul Tear. It's like 3 spells in one! It's also very useful.

    • I usually use Fire Breath because erm... BURNING THINGS IS NICE.

Also Dragon Aspect helps a lot - I'm a melee warrior.

    • Slow time? It's pretty usefull as a wood elf because unlike the Steady Hands perk it doesn't drain stamina. And I didn't invest in stamina because I didn't think I'll need it. Now I do.

    • Definitely Marked for Death. Though Fire and Frost Breaths are close contenders.

You definitely need Stamina. It helps not only for Power Attacks, but lessens that all-too-common condition of being over-encumbered. I don't think I'll ever have enough.

    • Dragon Aspect, Storm call and the Durnehviir one. I never really use Storm call, but it's pretty cool.

    • Cyclone. Does a decent amount, and you just can't beat those ragdoll effects :)

        Loading editor
    • Dragon Aspect, followed by Cyclone; I usually forget to move or fight as I stare in fascination, laughing, as my enemies get tossed about, looking disoriented and frightened. Maybe I'm imagining it, but even the Draugr look mortified when the Cyclone hits them.

    • I love Aura Whisper.  Being mostly an archer, it's annoying to have to un-equip my bow/crossbow, equip Detect Life spell and use it, and then lose track of my target while re-equipping my ranged weapon again because Detect Life (or Detect Dead...) spell is too quick-acting.

Other than that, Ice Form is great.  Dragon Aspect is very useful, and looks really cool as well.  Cyclone is fun :)

    • On second though, Unrelenting Force never gets old. Either shoving stubborn enemies away (or off cliffs), or using it to make followers go down that hill, instead of running half the map around the safe way down and taking a half hour to reach you again.

        Loading editor
    • Ice Form is really good. It freezes your enemy soild brick of ice so you can either kill them or run away. Unertheling force is fun to use too beacuse you can throw people arouund.

    • I tend to be quite liberal with my use of Unrelenting Force (that is, when I actually choose to progress in the main storyline).  It's probably the most useful.  Storm Call is my favorite for aesthetic purposes.

        Loading editor
    • either storm call or bend will

        Loading editor
    • The Marked for Death shout because it can weaken enemy armor and the Drain Vitality because it's related to the Marked for Death shout

    • Fire Breath or Unrelenting Force for me. I based my khajiit to look like the humanoid version of the element of fire (I was bored), so whenever she whips up the Fire Breath it just looks even more awesome, and deals a decent amount of damage too.

Unrelenting Force is obvious, since its especially good for throwing six people at once over a cliff and seeing how far food objects can fly.

    • Marked For Death, Unrelenting Force, and Fire Breath. Maybe also Whirlwind Sprint, though I only use it occasionally. (AKA when I'm over encumbered and near somewhere to store/sell extra items and want to reach them swiftly.)

    • I use Aura Whisper the most because it is really useful for a stealthy character, lets me know where all NPCs are. I probably use Aura Whisper every 2 minutes. XD Next would be Slow time, Makes killing fast moving NPCs much easier, like when a dragon lands, I use slow time. next would be Dragon Aspect for plain coolness. :D

    • Whirlwind sprint for carry weight, aura whisper for ash spawn hunting and unrelenting force/cyclone because it's funny to watch everything go flying

    • I don't think there are many people who don't love good ole' Unrelenting Force. To watch a goat fly off of the side of a mountain is something special.

I like unrelenting force but I just don't think it's as practical as the other shouts. When I am being swarmed by enemies I usually just hit them with a fireball, it doesn't need recharging so I can hit enemies more times with it and almost does the same knockback as unrelenting force. It also causes more damage than unrelenting force so I use it more often as an alternative. XD Only drawback I guess, is if you shoot the fireball too close to you, you are also hit by it... :p

^ This right there. I try to mix things up a bit and use other shouts but I always keep coming back to Fire Breath. Cyclone is also pretty fun to use sometimes, though it makes looting all the scattered objects a bitch after using it. Oh and when facing giants and their mammoths, LOVE using Animal Allegiance :P

Your topic reminds me of a Greybeards Video where they're fighting The Ebony Warrior. They were using fire breath and it was the prettiest looking fight I've seen. :D

    • Ever since I began playing with a fresh character on Master difficulty, I have a strong love for Unrelenting Force. It’s difficult to best high-level NPC’s and creatures like; Draugr Deathlords, Bandit Marauders, Cave Bears etc, in fair combat. So I just lure them on top of a hill and shout them down, making them take insane amounts of fall damage. I don’t know how I would have gotten anywhere in the game without it.

Another shout that come in handy is Become Ethereal. Not only is it a life saver in tight situations, especially with dragons, you can use it to jump down long cliffs without dying, thus opening up new shortcuts.

And of course there is Whirlwind Sprint. Whenever I raid a cave or ruin, I am always over encumbered with stuff to sell. I always have a horse waiting outside, but I still have to travel to the cave entrance and, once I'm in the city, to the the merchant in question. So the shout saves me a lot of time. Also allows you to access some hidden spots and treasures too. :)

    • I actually find Unrelenting Force to be very useful in certain situations too against tough opponents. I do what I refer to as an "Ulfric shout"- use Unrelenting Force to send them flying and deal bucket-loads of damage by duel-wielding on them while they're still getting up :P

    • Disarm is also great.

I never used to bother much with Shouts that didn't have "direct damage": Fire Breath, Frost Breath, etc., but I used it three characters ago and now I'm hooked. I'll never be able to get all three words; I can't make myself join the Thieves Guild to get the other word.

Using it against a bunch of bandits or Draugr that are advancing and...Shout! The weapons are torn from their hands, and for a few seconds they just kind of stand there in confusion.

    • Marked for Death, Storm Call, Unrelenting Force, Call Dragon, Call of Valor, and Firebreath. Also like Whirlwind Sprint. I don't really use shouts when I've got a follower though, unless they're essential. I've killed two followers on my main character. Both because I accidentally shouted them when they were down, while trying to hit enemies. Lydia, and Jannessa I killed. So, generally for a follower I use the female Dark Brotherhood Initiate, because they're essential.

    • And now I use Eola.

    • I love Become Ethereal.

Jumping from the Throath of the World feels so great.

    • Marked for death. Just yesterday, I took out a giant and two mammoths who were affected in seconds.

    • I do the same with a simple sneak attack :)

Whirlwind Sprint is my favorite, something about going fast makes me super happy.

    • Slow time, bend will, and disarm. I can't decide.

    • I would say unrelenting forse FUS RO  DAH  .

    • Slow time Is my favorite I'm playing a Dragon Priest Build and akatosh is the god of time and dragons right? So it fits with my character
