  • I was questing with Belrand when I returned to Heljarchen Hall where Beleval (from Dawnguard) is my steward and Oriella is my resident bard.

As I walked past the dining hall where Oriella was seated they suddenly went into a three party conversation, which went something like this:

Oriella: (to Beleval) Oh, glad to see you around. I wanted to talk about something...

Belrand: Hello ladies, what can a big, strong man do for you today?

Beleval: Hmm I'm not sure, maybe if you come across a big strong man you could let us know?

    (Both women giggle)

Belrand: (Leaving them behind and catching up to me) Harpies, all of them.

Has anybody else seen this, or know of any other interesting ad hoc party conversations?

    • Yes, this has happened a number of times with me. It's an in-game glitch and any NPC can say it at random times, it seems it was an un-used dialogue for some sort of conversation.

    • Why do you consider it a glitch? It was executed perfectly gameplay-wise for me, so I'm quite sure it was intended.

Maybe you could elaborate on what you meant by "any NPC can say it at random times"?

    • Who else but Belrand!

I think it was meant for Fort Dawnguard as Oriella has the same voice type as Sorine but as you had the three voice type's together the dialog got triggered anyway, if thats a bug or a feature i wouldn't like to say (there is a mod that help's it trigger though). I can't see it happening all the time as there's only about twenty npc's with Beleval's voice (FemaleSultry) the other two are quite common but you'll need all three in talking range.

Sorine does have some funny lines (and is awesome).

Thanks! I wanted to give you kudos but can't.

Anyway, I do think I've caused a script somewhere to bug out. After what happened at Heljarchen Hall, this conversation now also happens at The Bannered Mare between Hulda and Saadia ... Except nobody speaks the male part! (I didn't bring Belrand with me, but Jon Battle-Born was seated close to the two ladies, and I think he has the same voice type as Belrand - which is probably why the script fires - but for some reason he never said a word. Maybe he needs to be standing up in order to say his part?)

    • Hmm, I just read the Jon Battle-Born page, and in the trivia section it describes this exact conversation I mentioned. So it looks like this interaction wasn't just introduced in Dawnguard after all.

    • Nice find, looks like Jon thinks he's a bit of a ladies man (he can stay away from my Ysolda though).

    • This happened to me too in Heljarchen Hall, but inbetween Gregor the house carl of the pale, Oriella, and Beleval who is steward of my Heljarchen Hall. it was an interesting interaction considering the three characters have no real conection.

    • I had a similair experience during The Path of Knowledge quest where just as Neloth finished a sentence about how fascinating the dwemer ruins are Belrand started talking about how he's heard the artifacts fetch a nice price in the imperial city.

    • I create my own followers and I find that anytime I have one with the MaleNord Accented voice, the female sultry voice and the normal Nord female voice, this conversation initiates whenever the three are together.  I don't believe it's a glitch.
