  • Lord Harkon is the leader of the vampires and is a vampire lord and Mirrak is Dragonborn and has several shouts including one to tame dragons if these two were to clash in battle who do you think would win?

      Loading editor
    • Personally, I think Miraak would win. He has Fire Breath, which would be rather effective against Harkon, given that he is a vampire, and he has Bend Will, which would enable him to take control of Harkon's gargoyles, if not the man himself. Also, his clothing has spell absorption, which would be rather troublesome for Harkon, I would imagine.

And let's not get started on the dragons...

    • Pretty sure Miraak will destroy Lord Harkon hands down.

I mean yes, Lord Harkon is a badass vampire lord and all, but we're talking about an all-destroying centuries-old badass Dragon Priest who is the FIRST DRAGONBORN.

I already find it bullshit that the Last Dragonborn was able to defeat him according to the plot xD

Later edit - Maybe i was a bit cryptic that was Redoran Guards Harkon vs Miraak video.

    • Yes, but please not Lord Harkon has spells and powers to keep mirakk from hitting him such as vampiric grip and he can summon gargoyles plus he has a sword that lets him absorb 15 magic, stamina, and health as long as he is a vampire

I pointed out before that Miraak can just use Bend Will on the gargoyles. As for Harkon's sword, he can't use it while a vampire lord, and he will almost definitely be a vampire lord. You make a good point about vampiric grip, but don't forget, Miraak also has abilities that make him impossible to harm I.e. Become Ethereal.

        Loading editor
    • not trying to go against you I'm just ttrying to show you everything, but I didn't know Mirrak had become ethereal, and Lord Harkon is able to use Bats as well as the blood spell in his hand (forgot what it was) and allows him to gain lots of health. About him most likely being in vampire lord mode yes he probably will be, but he can easily change back. And also he is able to make time slow for a few seconds and Finally while in vampire lord mode he is able to Sprint faster thus sprinting to safety. And I'm not doubting Mirrak just telling all the abilities of Lord Harkon and he has a good chance of winning as well

    • Don't worry, I know. I just like having the last word.

And for the record, you do make a good point. Harkon has a few more tricks up his sleeve than we're giving him credit for.

Miraak would still win, though. xD

      Agreed

    • Miraak is dragonborn and you know that the last DRAGONBORN killed harkron and miraak would still be able to kill harkron because he can just have the help of hermaeus mora plus hermaeus mora is a deadric prince so he can actually easilly impale harkron

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, but wasn't there a dadrea that turned people into vampires, plus the last dragonborn beat Mirrak as well and hermaus morus rarely deals with mortals.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, this goes to Miraak, no contest. Harkon's just a powerful vampire who's also nuts, whereas Miraak's a Dovahkiin, a Dragon Priest, and has spent millenia with access to the largest collection of knowledge in the Aurbis.

As for how the LDB defeated him? Well, I'm going to chalk it up to the LDB being a player character, which as far as I can tell is basically an in-universe phenomenon. Shezzarine, if I'm not mistaken. Which I think would make Talos a player character too, by that definition... Maybe we'll get to play as him someday!

        Loading editor
    • Not all player characters are Shezarrines (the LDB quite possibly is, though): the in-universe phenomenon is the Prisoner-Hero, who is free from the shackles of fate and destiny. To be a Shezarrine is to be an incarnation of Lorkhan, rather.

    • Okay, first off, you're not a vampire if you "can walk around in the daylight, except it hurts a little bit." If that's what happens, you're just Irish. So we have a Dragonborn vs an old Irishman in this matchup.

It's unfortunate that The last Dragnoborn couldn't team up with either of these guys, because they would have helped me with my plans for conquering the world. I didn't want to fight them, but they wouldn't listen, so I started shouting, next thing you know, they're dead.

Anyway, the Irishman would lose. Miraak would show up to his fortress with a dozen dragons and a shout that could turn every loyal bloodsucker Harrkon has into dragonfood/Harkon's enemy.

    • It's not so simple yes, Mirrak the last dragonborn(besides you), would have some dragons but Lord Harkon has an army of vampires, vampire thralls, deathounds, those skeleton spider things, and gargoyles mirrak has some dragons and cultists not a whole army and mirrak can only tame one dragon at a time

        Loading editor
    • Wait. What? What spider skeletons?

        Loading editor
    • It more or less is that simple. Bend Will in lore is infinitely more powerful than Bend Will in gameplay: Miraak managed to very nearly take control of an entire island and its inhabitants, as well as at least three Dragons. Being Undead does not make you immune to domination. That said, the Thu'um as a whole is also infinitely more powerful in lore: with his Voice and the duel with Vahlok, Solstheim was sundered from Skyrim proper. The Voice is one of those things that can destroy castle walls and decimate armies with a few words: it just can't be represented that way in gameplay for obvious reasons.

Sorry, I thought there were and I missed it... I was watching this awesome video here you should see it it's really good. And here are other videos tell who wins here and here

    • Considering they are only centuries apart, it would seem that their power would equal.

But I would say that Miraak would most definitely win in a clash against Harkon.

Factually, Harkon is a half millennia old vampire with power beyond the norm of a base vampire. You would think with that much power, he'd be a near unstoppable force. However, his vampiric nature does come with weaknesses like sunlight, fire, blood thirst, yada, yada, yada. These weaknesses can still affect him, even in Vampire Lord form; hindering him in battle. Let's also note that even through his service to Molag Bal, he's still tied to mortal boundaries and limited to his abilities.

Miraak yields the power of the Voice in his arsenal. While he fares well with the plain spell and sword, the Voice amplifies his combat effectiveness quite a bit. Let's also know that he spent thousands of years in service to Hermaeous Mora; therefore increasing his power nearly twenty fold. Due to all of the forbidden knowledge he's learned, he was able to break mortal boundaries, something Harkon is still tied to. Let's also take note that he was able to nearly take control of a small island off the coast of Vvardenfell without having been physically there.

Considering these stakes, Miraak would have a large, if not total, advantage over Harkon.

    • Lorewise, the Thu'um is a Weapon of Mass Destruction: with shouts alone a Voice Master can destroy castles, fell armies, and sunder the earth. Miraak and Vahlok literally tore Solstheim off of Skyrim with their Voices while they fought, and Miraak ended up bending four or more Dragons and most of the population of the Island to his will. There really is no question about who the victor in this scenario would be.

    • Vampire Lords have many nice spells such as 'corpse curse' and such to paralyse Miraak, also, if I am right, I do believe that Harkon has more health than Miraak (Not counting the devouring of dragons). It depends on if Miraak has the dragons for back up, if so he will win. If not it would be fairly even.

        Loading editor
    • Miraak is immune to paralysis, just saying. Also Miraak killed my Dragonborn twice before I won and I always kill Harkon first try no matter my level...

Well lets not forget that bend will does NOT work on the undead, and harkon being a vampire is undead so that shout whould not effect him, I'm not sure about the gargoyles tho

    • Depends. Does Miraak get to use Bend Will? If so, Harkon doesn't stand a chance.

My point in asking that is, if Miraak gets to use Bend Will, he could just use it on Harkon, and Harkon would have to do whatever he says.

    • mirak would win. i beat lord harkon on expert in about 2 min with a level twenty warrior and i died several times battleing mirak with my lvl 30 warior?mage

Depends on what level of bloodlust they are and if they are a Dunmer or not. If they're on the lowest level, they actually have 25% resistance to it.

Harkon always summons Gargoyles and you end up fighting the Gargoyle instead of him...

    • Miraak could instantly kill Harkon with his Devour Soul shout, which Miraak uses to instantly kill dragons.

    • Unless it only works on dragon souls.

    • Miraks heath is tied to dragons harkon always powerful

      So

      1v1 Harkin

      Army v army moirak

Ps bend will no work on undead Harkins army without thralls is all undead

        Loading editor
    • Miraak would totally win, it would just be too easy for him.

        Loading editor
    • I'd say Miraak.

I believe all Dragonborn have the potential to become the most powerful mortal beings in the ES universe. Their potential remains dormant and untouched when a Dragonborn lives the life of an Emperor, but if they embrace their gifts like Miraak did, they become a living paragon of what power really is. Mortal beings with the full power and skill of the immortal Dovah.

    • Miraak is more powerful but didnt you need aureils bow to defeat harkon?

Is the battle during the day or night?

Good point, but you only really needed Auriel's Bow to dispel the magical barrier that Harkon had.

Miraak, on the other hand, requires everything at the Last Dragonborn's disposal to defeat.

        Loading editor
    • I think Miraak would win as Miraak was harder to kill than Lord Harkon.

        Loading editor
    • Miraak would toy with Harkon rendering what little resistance Harkon could put up as absolutely useless, Harkon wouldn't even challenge Miraak whereas Miraak would pistolwhip Harkon. Harkon would be Miraak's play thing. 10 Harkons wouldn't even touch Miraak.
