  • Hi guys,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but... I tried to edit The Fallen wiki page because I just completed the quest and I noticed some errors. However when I try to publish, I get a pop-up saying "The modification you tried to make was aborted by an extension hook".

I've not had this problem with other pages. Can anyone help me out?

    • As far as i can tell (from Google) something you wrote triggered a filter so the page rejected the edit, hopefully someone who actually knows will see your thread or post on the talk page and explain it though.

      Edit - Thanks Google...

    • What were you actually trying to add to the page? An extension hook error normally indicates a server side problem with Wikia or a random bug that appeared for nothing.

    • My main edits are to the Walkthrough portion, for example I want to remove the part where it says that you can learn the Call Dragon shout from Arngeir (you can't - only Esbern and Paarthurnax can teach it). I can't really tell where the problem could lie. Maybe it's from the links to other pages that I put in?

If it helps maybe I could post my text here?

It's probably some abuse filter on the wiki, but hard to tell which one would disallow such an edit. I removed the invalid information for you. :)

      Thanks a lot :)

I wanted to make some other edits because that first paragraph is not very well written. Here are my intended first two paragraphs:

After concluding the peace treaty negotiation in Season Unending, or having completed the Civil War questline on either side, the Dragonborn will then learn that the names of all dragons are actually Words of Power, and that Dragon Shouts can be used to call them. The Dragonborn will then receive the Words of Power to call Odahviing from Esbern at Sky Haven Temple, or from Paarthurnax at the Throat of the World (if the Dragonborn has not killed him for the Blades), in order to lure Odahviing into the trap as negotiated with the Jarl of Whiterun.

The trap for Odahviing can now be launched by traveling to Dragonsreach and speaking with Jarl Balgruuf or, if the Battle for Whiterun was completed in favor of the Stormcloaks, Jarl Vignar Grey-Mane. Exiting through the doors behind the throne room to the Great Porch (Esbern calls it, incorrectly, the "Courtyard") allows Odahviing to be called and trapped, using first his Dragon Shout, and then Dragonrend to draw him out of the sky. Note that it may be helpful to go up on the small balcony to the right and shout from there; the shout button must be held down long enough to for all three words of the shout to be completed.

I also wanted to change the first point in the Trivia section:

When the Whiterun Guard (or Stormcloak Guard, if the city was won for the Stormcloaks in the Civil War questline) is killed and thrown off the building, their body can still be looted by going to their last position.

If you guys think this is ok, would you like to try helping me edit the page? Or maybe I should try myself again?

    • You think this is bad, Try the Wookiepedia, those guys don't allow a thing on their site even if it correct.

I got this problem on bloons wiki, if I tried to test out my new trick.

My new trick is the double-editor-trick.

This is how the double-editor-trick works.

editor 1: Adding vandalism. The vandalism were 2 different futuristic bloons games.

editor 2: Reverting the vandalism. The edit summary of was: "Reverted edits by 84.151.240.164 to last version by Qwertyxp2000 the second.

      This is the following rule.:

Reacting to wikia raids is the same of asking for more.

The main reason people raid the Wikia is to gather attention to themselves, and one of the things they love the most is when there are people mentioning their deed. There are plenty of moderators to put the trash in the bag, so poking it not only will not help but will motivate future raids. If there is a such thing going on, you are not the only one aware; soon enough the offender gets blocked and their edits reverted.

In short, do not react to raids just like when being assaulted in real life.

And my double-editor-trick is to avoid the blocks by reverting my own edits.
