  • When I finally got the Hircine in the chest in Harmugstahl, the objective still says Retreive the Hircine when I have the Totem of Hircine in my inventory. However the objective marker has disappeared like I already got it, and Aela the Huntress has gone missing. I have tried reloading my old saves but the same thing happens, Aela just disappears while I am in combat. Does anyone have a solution, if yes, it will be much appreaciated

    • If you look at the quest pages bugs list -

"If married to Aela, while traveling to Harmugstahl to get the werewolf totem, she may disappear and you will not be able to complete this quest. It is possible to fix this bug by waiting in Dragonsreach for 24 hours, but it does not always work."

    • if waiting 24 hours in dragon reach doesnt work, wait for another 10 or more hours. it worked for me

    • I also have a glitch, but at a different point. I just left Jorrvaskr(?) after Aela located the second totem of Hircine. The problem is that there's no waypoint telling me the location of the totem, however Aela is still with me. Talking to Aela is pointless, because all she says is "Let us find the totem of Hircine, Shield-Brother" or something along those lines..... Please help.

EDIT: A few minutes after I posted this, I was able to ascertain the location of the second totem, Northshore Landing. Still no waypoint. I'll be back to edit in any changes to my situation.

SECOND EDIT: I feel stupid. The reason I had no waypoint to go on was because Northshore Landing is located in Solstheim, so I'll say this to anyone who had a problem similar to mine concerning this quest: If you have the Dragonborn DLC and Aela is with you, but you have no waypoint, try fast-traveling to Solstheim. Once you arrive in Solstheim, the waypoint should appear.

    • What if you havent been to solstheim because you havent had need (basically because that quest hasnt initiated)?

You'll just have to pay 250 gold to go to Solsheim then.

    • I just had Aela dissapear while doing my second totem... but I'm not married to anyone, and the totem was at Falkreath Watchtower.   Waiting for 12 hours at dragonreach did get her to reappear and advance the quest.

    • I am having diffculty completing the animal extermination quest, Aela The Huntress doesn't want to give me the Retrieve Totems Of Hircine quest yet, I've been doing all the companion quests from animal extermination to purity to trouble in skyrim but still Aela hasn't given that quest. Is it a glitch or bug or what? Please help

    • For me, the Totems of Hircine came at random times, so you might just have to keep doing quests until it pops up. I assume you've completed the Companions Questline, right? You'll have to have done that before the Totems can be acquired.

    • I found the totem (before Starting the quest, is this normal?) and it glitches so I couldent best totem quest... why he....?....

    • Welcome to Skyrim! I see you've found our glitches, now go buy another edition that won't fix them!

In all seriousness, this doesn't surprise me. You might want to reload from before you got the totem if you can, and if you can't, then all you'll miss out on is a few quests with Aela and a few hidden powers (or something; I honestly haven't completed the quests myself).
