Something occured to me, his mask looks like a seekers face. so probably his mask is made from a seeker and onestly that is just a guess. I will leave a link to the seeker page if you like right here.

Actually Miraak was not the first Dragonborn. I am pretty sure this woman's (forgot her name) blood was mixed with Acatosh's which made her Dragonborn but she did not have power over shouts like the Dovahkiin (two different things) so then it went in this blood-line and from what the story says, you are the last of the Dragonborn. For me I don't get since Dovahkiin does not mean Dragonborn so Bethesda srsly is messing with my mind on this.
Saint Alessia, i think she was sadly retconned to make the dlc sound more dramatic (the first vs the last).
I don't think they would make their equipment out of the dragons they worshiped especially as dragons can't be truly killed without taking their soul. Miraak's splinter faction might as they changed allegiance but the rebel Priests masks just don't look like bone to me, the Cultist's (awesome) coat does look like it might use bone though (and there is plenty around the Temple of Miraak).
Maybe Serving a Daedra for so long did slowly change their masks to a different form to match their new master.
Oh yeah, that's right. I didn't think of that. Then we'll just never know what his mask is made of. Still, I wish it were upgradable though. It's my favorite mask and favorite head item as well.
Yea I think apockrafa (butchered it wherever the black books take u) Morfed his dragon priest mask into this over the few thousand or so Mirak camped there . Dosnt the one with horns (the one you need all the others to get look like the same stuff
If it comes from Herma-mora, it may be made of books laying everywhere in apocrypha. I thought about the shrine of Julianos (which is the god of wisdom), this shrine gives fortify magicka, so the mask may give accumulated knowledge of books used and grants similar effect as blessing of the mentioned deity and explains why it cannot be improved.
Miraak is pre-Alessian. So, he is the first Dragonborn. I say it toTOx1c597. Probably, when he got to Apocrypha, he remade his first mask... Now it resembles Seekers because he remade it to honor Apocrypha as it saved him from death...
I'm researching this, so my best guess is Aphorcropha, or herma mora, his mask is a metallic type, just like the Konahrik mask. Also, his mask was made after the influence of a seeker. It's not made out of a seeker! So, he is in my Konahrik list for now, or maybe the Konahrik mask was made from him, or ,aye somebody else made it, but who?
There is no retcon. St. Alessia is the first officially-recognized Dragonborn by Imperial historians in-universe; and one of those who could've ruled a Cyrodiilic Empire had she not died during her pact with Akatosh to form the Amulet of Kings.
Miraak is not nearly as well-known, but he is technically the First Dragonborn (i.e. the first to be born with a Dragon's Soul, & evidently did kill dragons to absorb their Souls). Among the few people who knew of him are the Skaal of Solstheim.
Storn Crag-Strider even says such about the fact that Miraak is largely forgotten:
"Much of what is known has been lost through the ages. He was Dragonborn, yet he served the dragons. A priest in their order, highly esteemed and very powerful. Then he turned against them, becoming something they feared."
Looks like the mask itself is made of Gold. It has a very similar texture and look to Konahrik's mask as the anonymous user above mentioned. As for who made Konahrik's mask, my best bet is the Dragon's themselves as they were the gods/rulers of the priests themselves and if I recall correctly there was a tidbit of information in a Labirynthian loading screen that says they were given or awarded the masks due to their service to the dragons and their cult.
dwemer metal ingot mixed with corundum, enhanced and/or enchanted by hermaeus mora maybe?the dwemer metal and corundum could explain the colour,enchantments/enhancements could make it brighter?this is from mastur4,some guy who doesn't reads books so he knows nothing about nirn,or tamriel
