  • Skyrim Confessions is a thing on Tumblr.

So i decided we should do one the wiki.

What you have to do is write a confession about something you think, do or see in skyrim. - Thalmor Assassin

(This is a 2nd part for the first one, after the latter reached over 400 posts.)

    • \o/ as for my confession... I return stolen equipment to their rightful owners in whatever way I can. Such as reverse-pickpocketing Aegisbane to Torbjorn shatter-shield.

Unfortunately I have yet to find a mod that lets me say: Shut up and take your dam hammer.

You're not the only one bro. You should see me when playing on the PS3 version.

      1. I join the Thieves Guild just to get Chillrend;

      2. I join the College of Winterhold just to get the Invisibility Spell;

      3. I join the Companions because Werewolves <3

      4. While I do love the Dark Brotherhood questline, I only join them just for the sake of Shadowmere.

I don't do this on the PC anymore, seeing as how I can get any of these items/powers/etc just by using Console Commands (excluding the Werewolf power - is it possible to become a werewolf using console commands and without modding?).

Yes. You can add the Beast Form power and the Disease Immunity with Console Commands.

Speaking of confessions, my Dragonborn uses Mead and Wine as Stamina potions without worry of liver failure c:

    • I never complete the quest on Volkihar Vampires side. If I decide to join, I always reload my save before the decision and choose not to join them and back to dawnguard castle. Maybe because I don't like vampires (I don't like werewolf too, so I always get rid of my Lycanthrophy at the end of the Companion Quest).

      • I used to join the Stormcloaks, but in the end, after the third time, I decided that I couldn't stand Galmar's voice any longer. Or his general bloodlust. I got along with Rikka and Tulius a whole lot better.
      • I will freely admit that I've used Cicero to kill characters I've always hated, like Heimskr, the Talos preacher in Whiterun. No more mindless yelling!
      • I hoard wine and mead, even though I never touch the stuff.
      • I am a true pack-rat. I manage to sell some stuff, but in the end it just makes more room for things I can't make myself part with. Including 3 copies of the same book that I have no interest in reading but I still can't make myself sell it!
      • The Prowler's Profit did not do me any good. I now have more standard and Flawless jewels than I have had with all my other characters (including deleted ones) combined. Yet I still can't make myself part with any of them.

    • I like that the legion has ranks, while the stormcloaks only have nicknames. But I cannot bring myself to join the legion, the stormcloaks are merely protecting their home and their god, their basic way of life is at stake after all. Then again I won't go down that path... Confessions after all.

I confess that I always do everything I can to escape the falkreath guard who starts the Clavicus Vile quest and I always run away from Eltrys before he has a chance to talk with me and force that note on me(Forsworn Conspiracy), mostly because one of my earliest characters were supposed to have 0 total lifetime bounty. But still be a murderer, I could tcl and coc away in the DB questline with the console, but there's no way to reset your total lifetime bounty.

She acts so snide and self-assured that I'd have been much happier just knocking her out after she hands over the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller and sticking the rest of it out with the greybeards.

I see everyone saying "Empire good :)! Stormcloaks Bad >:(!" But I can't bring myself to agree. Honestly, the Empire and Solitude in general just present such a horrid first impression: ("I said, NEXT. PRISONER." "You Nords and your bloody sense of honor..." Oh right, because the Stormcloaks are such angels? Racism in Windhelm, Alduin's return, cause of Thalmor being in Skyrim, cause of you being sent to the chopping block, cause of families torn apart, cause of a loss of men for the next war, claiming to fight opression while they do the exact same themselves. The Stormcloaks are not the good guys.

      3) I join Volkihar Vampires side just for the rings of blood magic.

      4) I used to adopt Sofie and Lucia but not anymore. Why? Because I'm not Santa Claus and they NEVER once said "papa, I love you", "papa you're back, I missed you so much", "you are the best papa ever" and so on.

      5) I spend almost 10 minutes modeling the face of my character just to play the entire game in first person view.

    • So cool reading this thread and its previous part, but I have some confessions of my own to make:

I once travelled all the way up to the top of High Hrothgar just so I could fus-ro-dah my follower Iona off the mountain. But I accidentally forgot to change my shout, so I hit her with an Ice Form instead. She slid off and started glitching across the sky once she neared the ground. I used moveto player to bring her back up to the top, but she continued to glitch out. Forever.

Whenever I raid a house or bandit camp I drag all the bodies around to make them look like the people are all still alive (prop them up against the walls, sit them on chairs, lay them out on beds etc.) It normally turns out well. Don't know why I do it though.

I sometimes spend ages running around Skyrim looking for the random encounters. They're so funny sometimes. Except when I get ambushed by something or someone.

If I adopt a child I always go out and get a dog follower (like Meeko or the Dawnguard huskies / vampire death hound things) then bring it back to the house. I don't like it when my dogs get killed i-i

    • I have about 24 different collections in the game, some collected as tribute to other media/characters, some for personal pleasure. So many items are collected that it actually hinders gameplay. (I collect every single pelt/hide in the game except the Horse Hide, but that means I can't get Leather or Leather Strips from them, and Horse Hide has become gold to me.)

It's starting to get a little ridiculous and I'm considering having another save file just so I can actually play the game without hoarding an item(s) and never using it if I need it.

      • Fighting for the Stormcloaks felt more "epic" because both you and Ulfric are Shouting, but I always hated the part where you storm the Castle Dour and see General Tullius sitting in the corner, which he normally doesn't do, and I felt really awful when he says "We aren't the bad guys" and warns Ulfric what's really coming.
      • Fighting for the Legion, helping them take back Skyrim (where the Legion's first Emperor started out, actually), felt more "right" and it made me angry when I saw Ulfric lounging on his throne. Made me think he was stuck up, because if you fight for the Stormcloaks at Whiterun, at least Balgruuf puts on armor and fights, Ulfric didn't do that. He just... sat on his throne.

Pfft, practically a saint compared to the players who hunt the Thalmor down on principle.

Does anyone else find it interesting how taking things from someone's pocket doesn't count as theft if you've already killed them first? I can never get around to levelling pickpocket on my stealth character because it's just -that- much more convenient to slash their throat open first.

    • I find the characters in vanilla so butt ugly, about a third of my 130 mods on PC skyrim is dedicated to making them look pretty. Yeah, it's true, I am shallow. Very shallow, like a puddle after a rainy day. No, no, it's not those mods that makes women very titty, or similar. Don't you find the characters all looking unrealistic and ugly? Even the Dragonborn you spent hours creating is butt ugly. How can people look so terrible, such that not a single pretty one exists?

I mean, since the gameplay is already so crappy, at least put some effort into the graphics and NPCs? Like, seriously. Does everything about Skyrim have to suck so much that modders have to fix it? I remembered thinking it was great ages ago, until ... the UGLINESS hit me right in the face.

(And yeah, all my characters look like Japanese people, even if the rest of Skyrim doesn't. Guess my obsession with anime does lead to lore fucking on a big scale. But ah well, it doesn't matter in the end.)

    • I created a Nord so that I could play a character that would join the Stormcloaks. Only, after playing for a time, she decided that they weren't taking their, "Skyrim is for Nords", philosophy to heart enough. So I started building up her pick pockets skill so that I could get the perk that allowed me to drop poisons into people's pockets, and set about cleansing the Grey Quarter of every Dunmer that dwelled there.

Sadly, my PS3 died and I lost my save/game so I never got to see how this approach would have played through.

It gave me a scary look at how Nazis and Brown Coats became a thing.

    • Well, I absolutely despise mods that make NPCs "butter-faced". I like the fact that Skyrim's NPCs look as rough as the environment suggests. And I hate mods that add anything anime-ish even more.

Also, I've done a ton of playthroughs, but I've only actually finished the main quest like... three times maybe. I don't even mod, and I still find it fun, even if I've done every quest several times - except for a few I simply can't bring myself to do.

I have at least one playthrough where I do exactly that, though my character is an easily "triggered" assassin, so it sort of fits.

On the other hand, I've been killing Njada Stonearm lately in every playthrough, even if I'm not a Companion and don't interact with her. That's an odd habit I've developed.

I have exactly 500 hours of Skyrim play time as of today, but there some things I've never done: for example I've never become a cannibal (even with the most immoral/amoral characters), I've never even initiated A Night to Remember because the very idea of my characters getting drunk disgusts me (and yes, it ties into my real-life experiences).

The way Njada always reacts to you makes it all worth it. Also damn shame that Skjor is essential if you don't join the Companions and that you have to become a werewolf to finish the questline. With how everyone treats you like dirt (with the exceptions of Farkas and Kodlak), even after finishing everything, I don't even join them anymore with my "warrior" characters. In fact, the only faction I ever liked joining was the College of Winterhold. At least there all the members (except Ancano and J'zargo) are friendly as soon a you enter.

I don't live in Breezehome anymore and I buy it late in the game just for the sake of it. I think you can make it. I mean, Wikias normally allow to make polls, I just don't remember the format anymore but it's fairly simple. You could make it in a blog post.

Though, I'd probably have to be a multiple choice poll, because I have several favorites. Also, I thought Vilkas and/or Farkas were the most popular male spouses.

OT: When Serana pisses off a friendly character, they attack her but she usually doesn't fight back. And I just like watching her being pummeled, especially by my summoned Dremora Lords :P

    • Ah, I don't really understand the concept of blog posts on a wikia, I have to read about it. It would be difficult to make a poll with that, too many characters.

I do too, as for Farkas and Vilkas Whiterun is the first place to find because it's the first city, so I bet for males and gay characters Aela and Ysolda comes first.

    • I used to make a new main page poll every month on one of the Wikis I edited actively before I left. To get this:

      What is your favorite color?

      4

      6

The poll was created at 13:05 on May 17, 2016, and so far 10 people voted.

You just have to put this:

      What is your favorite color?
      Yes
      No

between the <poll></poll> tags. So yes, turns out I do remember the format after all.

I don't know if it was because of a bug but last time I played, first day I arrived in Whiterun he was still yelling at 3h in the morning. I suppose it should be in the thread "funniest thing that occured..." except that it was funny for everyone but me.

Still: The Thalmor aren't as bad to me as Talos worshippers. Hell, Talos fanatics are worse than the most fervent Thalmor agent in that that's all they will talk about. But, on one fateful night in the Retching Netch, she encountered the most fearsone enemy in the entire game... A CORRUPT FILE!!! She was stuck in a loop of eternal damnation; If she tried to leave she'd crash, and if she stayed she'd be bored to death with all the nothing to do. So, she never logged in again.

After years without word from Althilwen, her sister, Aranga, went out searching for her. She was a fierce theif/warrior, determined to find her sister again...

      1. Got Loreius and his wife, Curwe, killed because I ratted out Cicero to the guard. Didn't even notice until I found the guard again and told me of the murder.

      2. Killing Malborn and Brelas out of rage. They were causing so much trouble with the Frost Troll, I had to bash someone...

      3. Exiling Balgruuf the Greater. Since he is the best Jarl of the bunch. The first time was the harshest. :(

      4. Killing Ulfric Stormcloak. I felt more bad killing him than General Tullius.

      5. Killing Nilsine Shatter-Shield. Torbjorn may be a little racist and a humongous miser, he doesn't deserve this much grief.

However, with my newest Altmer man, I was inspired by looking at the history of the Maormer into creating an Altmer with white hair and eyes, and a backstory for him, as he's supposed to be a mix of Altmer and Maormer elves. Its actually very enjoyable to write about it. there are times when I wish I could play as Miraak and take over the world instead of playin g as the last dragonborn and saving the world.

I've never even considered joining the implerials, why because even though the stormcloaks are assholes, they are still the lesser of two evils, Ulfric Stormcloak is a better option for me than the thalmor. besides in my headcannon I make it so that the dragonborn ends up being skyrim's high king after killing Ulfric, kinda removes the only problem I have about joing the stormcloaks. but then again after my first playthrough I stopped doing the civil war questline because boring.

He he. I used to go natural hair colors in Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but my later characters started to have neon green (No pink. Too girly, even with a spike 'do.), vivid blue, and amethyst hair. My only problem with that was that making your hair purple was that it also made your eyebrows purple as well. Like you're really gonna dye your eyebrows that color...

Funny how they are also two of the organizations that treat you like dirt, no matter what rank you have within them. The other is The Companions, though they are descended from Ysgramor's "honorable" 500 Companions, you still have to side with werewolves instead of werewolf killers. I mean, you can join the Dawnguard in the DLC to fight vampires, but you can't join werewolf hunters in the base game? Gimme a break.

    • @Leea: I usually go for blue hair whenever I can, but I use other colors too. In Oblivion, eyebrows don't change color with hair. Speaking of eyebrows, I hate that you can only have black/grey ones in Skyrim. They don't look right on blond or ginger characters; same for body hair on males.

For the post above, they should have let you join the Vigilantes of Stendarr (and be the only competent member :P), hunting Daedra among others. It sucks that you can't truly defy the Daedric princes (I liked some of them but there should be more freedom of choice).

Though, last time I checked, it was after I killed many NPCs with console commands (just went around using killall to see how many characters are essentials after you finish pretty much all quests), so maybe I didn't give it enough time.

    • I personally cry because of DLC. The fact that some holds don't have residences make me feel kind of dissapointed. So what I do for some characters is make them a camper in Falkreath hold who resides in Dead Man's Drink. Sometimes they might go vigilante for the jarl, and sometimes they might look around town to discover anything... intriguing and.... rewarding. Then, if I wanted the character to be twisted, they would go on a full blown massacre.

    • As a level 29 Nord, and with most questlines, except the Companions and Bards College, completed, as well as a glitched Thieves Guild and an infinite quest for the dark brotherhood, I generally feel like there's nothing to do in the game. So, I would kill any character that I encounter for the fun.

With that same character, I completed 2 massacres of Whiterun. 1 of them resulted in the deaths of... I believe Heimskr, Brenuin, and some others. The other cleared out the town. Except for the kids, Fralia, Olfrid Battle-Born, Some Grey-manes, I think that's practically all.

    • On the characters that I level Pickpocket with, I only do it for one reason: so I can get Perfect Touch and pickpocket Ondolemar's outfit right off his back, and then I can see him without the...uh...clothes getting in the way. OT: I never use staves and I find them to be totally useless as I usually level magic skills quickly enough to cast all spells I need.

Also, I somehow always roleplay my characters as if they aren't really associated with the factions they join. I always pretend that they are pursuing their own goals and actually care little about factions' goals (I pick the suitable dialog choices when I can).

        Loading editor
    • Bad part about staves is that they weigh a lot (most are 8, while the Wabbajack is 10), and if you don't have a good skill for that particular staff, you're going to have to carry a lot of filled soul gems, which in themselves can weigh a lot altogether. I just sell them when I find them, barring unique ones, like said Wabbajack and the magic-wall-spell staves carried by most Dragon Priests.

        Loading editor

I had no chance of killing Astrid since I was no mage, so I had to kill one of the captives and got stuck with the "With Friends Like These..." quest for the longest time (I didn't actually want to join DB). I was ignoring it, but then I snapped (40 or so levels later) and did the following:

      • used movetio player to teleport Astrid to me;
      • removed her essential status;
      • killed her (felt a bit bad since she greeted me as "sister");

    • I just sped her up - selected her then used the setav command to modify the speed attribute. It also caused her to run on air and sink into the ground. It stopped after I completed Dawnguard's questline though, and she simply started running fast.

I'm almost his height anyway. I just barely reach a Nord man's shoulders, and when I stood next to Legate Fasendil, I didn't reach his shoulders at all. I feel like a pipsqueak. I also get bumped into more often, like NPCs don't notice I'm standing there because I'm so short.

        Loading editor
    • Height is part of the reason I find playing Breton women sometimes amusing (and they are the shortest along with female Khajiit), especially when you get to brawl with Nord dudes. At least one of my female Bretons is also super skinny (and pretty ugly, honestly).

And no, it isn't compensating since I'm of average height in real life, and I rarely want to punch people.

Well, my fears came true, once: I came back after a few days gone and the urn where I put my alchemy ingredients was empty. Everything was gone, including 5 Daedra hearts.

I never used Labyrinthian for a storage area again.

Confession time: I don't bother with leveling up Enchanting, Smithing and Alchemy and hate that they affect your overall level, because if you're low level, you likely won't get to the good materials and the good enchantments anyway, creating 1000 Legendary Iron daggers and enchanting them all with frost enchantments won't get you good gear. So I got a bat which sets them to level 100 and gives me all the perks so I don't have to do that crap. I still need to go get all the materials, soul gems, ingredients and recipes. Ain't nobody got memory fo' that.

Are we really doing this? Skyrim is not a requiring game, neither is the special edition. While I haven't played a lot of SE yet, I play Skyrim on ultra with the high-res edition, Realvision ENB and all the best texture packs and mods I could find, I think my computer is good enough for most games. If I need a better computer, upgrade. Don't need to buy an entire new console to play the newer games.

I kill Belrand's Familliar all the time. It gets in the way, I trip over it all the time, it blocks doorways, it howls incessantly, and it's so easy to kill that barely distracts anything. Belrand doesn't appear to care what I do to it, anyway. The only times I let it time out is when it actually helps instead of hinders.

I know I shouldn't want to kill a pregnant lady, but Seren has really started to piss me off. All she does is complain about how tired she is every time I'm on the blacksmith's porch. If she gets killed in a dragon attack or *mysteriously* dies, I won't shed any tears.

    • I make some characters that are descendants of previous game NPCs... My Dunmer Karee, for one, is actually half-Imperial... and the daughter of one of the most feared criminals of the late 3rd Era. My Imperial vampire Marcus is a Phillida, and I have a headcanon he and Karee are BFFs despite the animosity (read: want of the other’s head on a pike) between their late relatives. It’s fun, and I can imagine them, especially Karee, making comments about it in battle.

Karee to Rolff Stone-Fist: “Just remember: I have been taught how to cut someone’s head off. You make any offensive comments about my kinsmen, you will, in your last, miserable and fearful moment, realize exactly who trained me in the use of a dagger.”

Marcus to Maven Black-Briar: “My ancestors fought for the law in the Empire. You can threaten to sic the Brotherhood on me as much as you want, but I will never be afraid!”

    • Here is my story...

When I was playing Skyrim my follower was Kharjo. I had a crush on him for some reason. Was pissed off when i found out you can't marry him. (was playing on xbox 360 and couldnt get mods) made a fake wedding. Some dude came in and gave me a letter or something. get triggered for ruining wedding. quicksave. turn into a werewolf and kill everyone except Kharjo. Realize what i'v done. I havent played since

        Loading editor
    • I can't marry a crap ton of characters I want to marry in the game, but that doesn't stop me from playing, so it shouldn't stop you.

        Loading editor
    • I roleplay as my character having a crush on Kharjo. the reason is that he is the ONLY character, who seems hesitant to send you on a quest and is genuinely worried about your fate.

"I miss my amulet, but a life can not be replaced as easily." -Kharjo

I know, it's just one line, but compare it to everyone else, they're like. "Clear out the creatures and I'll give you gold" or "Head there to get that Item." that makes Kharjo unique.

As for a confession, I am a man in reality, but when I play Skyrim I decide on a spouse from the gender(and race) of my character, so when I play as a girl I marry men.

    • Even though I have joined the worst organizations in the game (Dark Brotherhood, Thieves Guild), I still can't make myself do what needs to be done to get artifacts in some of the Daedric quests. Not Namira's quest and not Waking Nightmare. I just can't make myself do it. I just don't do Sanguine's quest not because I can't agree with the morals, but rather that I don't want to waste time by going on a bunch of aggravating mini-parts over quite a bit of the map for a staff which effect I can buy a spell tome at Phinis Gestor for half of what you pay for Ysolda's stupid wedding ring. Its not worth the anger issues afterwards.

On another note, I feel guilty when I take eggs from bird's nests in the wilderness. I imagine baby birds that could have been and I feel even worse. • Interstingly the Rock Warbler eggs and Pine Trush eggs are much larger than the real life birds of the same name. Rock Warblers and Pine Thrushes are also nonexistant in Skyrim. Rock Warblers are also Australian and it makes little sense that they exist within the province of Skyrim.

Confession: I start up NMM in order to play Skyrim, but then I end up never starting the game for the whole day as I do other things.

        Loading editor
    • Of course the eggs are bigger than real-life eggs. If they were real-sized, you'd barely be able to see them in the game environment. Same goes with gems: they're way bigger than the finished product (i.e., silver ruby ring). Only the rings and necklaces are too damn small to see properly. I dropped a ring once on the floor of Breezehome and it took me minutes to find it again because it rolled and I couldn't see where it went.

I took ideas from Haelga's bedroom and now when I marry, I "decorate" my - our - bedroom with stamina potions, stamina regeneration potions (and jewelry), fortify stamina potions (and jewelry), flowers, a Dibella Statue, and a couple suggestive books. You may not be able to "do" anything in the game (without mods, that is, and no mods for me), but at least it can look the part.

I HAVE killed Nazeem. I've killed him so many times and in so many ways, I can't even remember the exact number of times I've killed him. And I never felt bad about it.

I have, however, felt bad about killing some other characters before. On one character, Madran and his caravan saw me in the wilderness with my Frost Thralls and attacked. In fact, the Frostbite Spiders near Highgate Ruins, the random encounter Bandits with two Bandit Chiefs, and Madran and company all saw me at the same time and attacked. I had to kill him with all the others. I'd never done anything to him, and the Frost Thralls were behind me, so why was I attacked? It made no sense, and I felt bad afterward, even though I didn't reload.
