  • Actually really took me aback. I liked some of those guys, except that Khajit bastard- couldn't kill him fast enough. Its not usual that an ES game makes me feel guilty and even a bit ill. I was sure there'd be some twist to it but nope, just wholesale slaughter.

Or am I just being a wimp?

    • Don't think so, felt the same way.

Might have had to choke down.. eeh nothing a few times myself, put nightshade on all of their bodies and some assorted Dark Brotherhood related books in their inventory as a way of saying sorry...

Really makes me wish I had the game on pc, so could console command them back to life.

Such great characters, would even say they were the best DB of all ES games.

Such a harsh quest to do and so much regret in having to kill them, to Coldharbour with Lucien the easily deluded fool for that.

    • It made me sad that the khajiit was nice to me and apologized for being a dick, RIGHT before I had to kill him.

    • I know this is really old but I felt terrible, so did my character who had never felt empathy before this. But real talk for a second, these assassins had a successful group going for them and then some newbie is sent in and suddenly does everything better than everyone else and then gets a secret mission from THE BLACK HAND THEMSELVES and then it turns out that mission is to kill you and your siblings. I would be a pretty pissed off ghost.

    • Is there any clue as to who infiltrated the brotherhood at all, or is it never discovered?

    • You find out who it was near the end of the Dark Brotherhood questline.

    • Honestly, one must question if the Purification is necessary to take out a traitor, detective work maybe a better option..? It doesn't sound effective at all. Oh well, it's a cult of murderous sinister looneys, what else is there to expect?  lol

    • I felt particularly bad killing Teinaava. He was always such a bro to my character and obviously had great respect for the Dark Brotherhood since he could always be found reading The Five Tenets. Plus he showed that he had respect for the rules when he sent me to kill a Shadowscale because no Shadowscale should ever kill another in the same way the Brotherhood members never kill each other. I knew he wasn't the traitor but still had to kill him to advance the quest. This is one of the few times in an ES game that I've actually not wanted to complete a quest.
