I created a necklace that put my health in the billions using the fortify restoration loop. God mode has served its purpose, but I want to be challenged again. Is there any way to take off or replace the necklace without dying instantly? I am on an Xbox 360.
It's a consequence of using the restoration loop. Once you take the piece of armor/armors off that holds the fortify health perk, you will immediately die. I don't think there is a way around it.
Could you possibly make more pieces of armor and switch them out until your health is lowered to a normal amount and be able to take it off? I never used this glitch but that's all I could really think of to help.
I've never had any problems with this, but, then again, I've never (not really, anyway) used bugs to my advantage. The most powerful "fortify health" jewelry I've worn was a Peerless Health ring that added 70 health and I never had any bad effects when taking it off.
This prob actually sounds like an immersive choice they could have (not saying they should) put into enchanting:
Bind an extremely powerful enchantment to an item but in doing so it becomes bound to you and can't be removed without damaging you.
Your an enchantment addict!
But to solve your prob Demonicvampiregirl had prob the only solution that MIGHT work and the reason the game MIGHT be killing you is skyrim might have a hidden hard cap on HP / Magicka / Stamina so your item might be increasing your HP above this cap mathematically but the game then reduces it back down to the cap then once you remove the enchantment the game corrects itself by removing the enchantment which would put your HP into the negative or just straight to 0.
This is ofc speculation as I doubt anyone has actually looked into these exploits enough to know at what point they become buggy.
Sleep in the bed (for at least 1 hour) and unequip your health-enchanted apparel immediately after that while you feel rested. Have not tested this thing on a character with lycanthropy though - it might not work on him.
