  • It's a very simple question: Which race of Elves do you like the most and, if you want to explain, then why? I like the Snow Elves a lot because I thought they exceeded the High Elves in a lot of ways. Particularly, their architecture, magic, armour, culture, and kindness. I was fully expecting Knight-Paladin Gelebor to be the usual arrogant Elf that you typically see in the Elder Scrolls, but he was the exact opposite. He was trusting of me, did not show any obvious signs of arrogance towards me, was very kind, and even went so far as to give me Auriel's Bow after performing the simple task of killing his brother, which in itself is not very difficult compared to actually reaching him through the enlightenment phase of the quest.

    • Snow Elves look awesome. Their architecture, traditions, their color scheme. Definitely my favorite.

    • I like High Elves because of there natural knowledge to magic and they are TALL. The female ones can also be very pretty :3

I also hate the enlightenment thing to get to the inner sanctum. My least part of the Dawnguard questline.

    • From the alive ones, I like Bosmer. They are the most traditional elves, and do pretty good at sneaking.

From the extinct, I like Dwemers. Their tecnology, scructure and clothing is just awesome, even that their culture is mostly unknown...

    • I love them all. From Bosmer to Orsimer, they all have very unique cultures, but my absolute favorite are the Dunmer. They are so varied, and have a culture completely their own. Most of the races in the Elder Scrolls are based on some sort of real life culture or mythological one, but the Dunmer have such unique querks and characters. Also giant mushrooms.

    • Orsimer, because you know, they back the Empire and are strong af.

    • Snow Elves or Wood Elves. Snow Elves because they seem really kind and their architecture (the inner sanctum of the Forgotten Vale) is brilliant. Also the Wood Elves because they seem kind-ish and less arrogant than the other Elves. My worst are Orcs because they are way too arrogant and think they can overpower anyone even though they can't. Favourite of all races, though, has to be the Nord. The females are the prettiest, and the men are the toughest. They also drink a lot, so that's a plus.

    • I like Dunmer the most, due to their balanced nature and great hybrid-class potential. Because I can never pick a single specific play style(either combat, stealth or magic) and always mix it up, Dunmer is pretty convenient. Also they have the highest resistance of the most common damaging spell; fire spells. In addition, they have such a fascinating history and architecture. And they got the sexiest voices too(the ones from Morrowind, at least). ;)

    • Gameplay-wise, Dunmer, then Altmer.

    • I love dwemer culture. They are so fascinating. My favorite elfish race to play as is the orcs, who yes, are mer. Warrior types are my favorite, and the orcs and the birds are the best warrior races.

    • My favourite race is the Dwemer followed by the Altmer. The Dwemer because of their innovative technology and unique architecture, although on a moral scale they are largely despicable. And the Altmer due to their ancient traditions and culture, their ambition also makes them interesting characters. However they are at least as bad as the Dwemer in terms of the morals of their society.

    • On a moral scale I completely agree with the Dwemer, the only exception being the enslavement and blinding of the Falmer.

As for their torturing and mocking of the Chimer due to their daedric worship, I couldn't be happier about that. Science always overtakes religion, and the Dwemer were right about everything.

      I think so.

    • My preferred race of Mer will be the Sinistral Elves mainly because they are such a mystery despite accomplishing something as impressive as creating an Empire that was said to be 4 times bigger than the Septim Empire. That is literately 8 times bigger than the present Empire in the 4th Era.

Not to mention, they were described as the ones who taught the Yokudans how to make Scimitars and turbans, their mages were said to be able to create cities out of sand within moments. I guess because the Lefthanded Elves were credit to have taught the Yokudans how to make the Scimitars and Turbans, but the Yokudans and Sinistral Elves still ended up in war without any official explanation created an air of mystery as to "How did this happened" and the Redguards' reluctance to discuss this topic viewing this as something shameful gives off an air of intrigue almost as if, the genocide of the Lefthanded Elves were results of mistakes on both sides.

The Lefthanded Elves were pretty badass but not overpowered. Considering it took the intervention/help from Goddess Leki and the HoonDing in order for Yokudans to defeat the Sinistral Elves.

    • Dwemer, mainly because they are gone which is good but also for their armor and technology.

Actually do kinda wish it was another elf race that disappeared, Dwemer though Mer were cool and not.. well as into the lies like the other ones are.

    • The Altmer.....why ?....Ancient Highborn blood, gifted with magic, Tall and aestetically good looking colourful eyes, awesome evlen armour, whats not to like ?

    • Dunmer, mostly for their interesting culture and their beautiful architecture. if the dwemer would still be around, they'd be my number 1

    • 1. Dunmer - Most interesting backstory and culture, unique architecture, religion , weapons, armour and lore. The Great Houses are so interesting (My favourite is Telvanni ), longest lifespan, best province in terms of geography.  Some of them are Dagoth Ur , Sotha Sil , Saint Jiub , Divayth Fyr ,Valen Dreth and and half of Vivec. Also enslaved the beastfolk. If you don't agree play Morrowind and then the Tribunal DLC. You will agree.

      2. Dwemer - Technology millenia ahead of their time, only race to create robots, extremely unique aesthetic, very isolationist and most of all their downfall story is amazing (Lorkhan's heart).

      3. Altmer - Unique religion, aesthetic and incredibly powerful mages (Psijic Order ), nice house system and good geography. Ancestors of most other Mer races. I am also probably the only TES fan to like the Thalmor and the Aldmeri Dominion . Also tallest race.

      4. Ayleid - Unique architecture and religion, Umaril the Unfeathered , Welkynd Stones , Dawn magic, used to rule Cyrodil, enslaved the races of men and built the Imperial City .

      5. Bosmer - Nice backstory, extremely unique religion, Y'ffre , Green Pact , The Wild Hunt (Look it up) and only race to use predominantly weapons and armour of bone. Also shortest race.

      6. Orsimer - Brilliant backstory, unique religion (Malacath ) and have an outcast feel (no province to themselves).

      7. Falmer - Really sad backstory, sort of unique religion and have two different styles of architecture, magic, weapons and armour.

      8. Maormer - Unique architecture and best seafaring race, snake magic, water magic, live on Pyandonea and their king is Orgnum .

      9. Chimer - Just the Dunmer but white. Extinct. Got turned into the Dunmer by Azura for being too full of themselves.

      10. Sinistral Elves - Literally just Altmer but they're all left handed. Extinct, the Redguards killed them all. Used to live on Yokuda.

      11. Aldmer - the descendants of Sinstral Elves, Maormer and Altmer. Look just like Altmer. Altmer culture and Aldmer culture is the same. One of them was Topal the Pilot.

      All this is my opinion.

3 the altmer hardly have a unique religion. pretty much all their gods are shared with other peoples of tamriel. also, do you really like those thalmor nazis? they want to destroy the TES universe for crying out loud

4 religion is hardly unique. most of their gods got adopted into the nine divines pantheon.

6 they do have the city of orsinium

7 we know barely anything of their religion

9 the chimer weren't cursed for being full of themselves, they were cursed bc three of them went against their oaths to Azura and made themselves gods

    • My favorite elven race is the Orsimer. They have an interesting yet simple patriarchal culture. The dad rules everything, has lots of wives, the wise woman is either his first wife or his mom, the second wife is the forge-wife, the son--if he beats his dad to death--gets to be chief, daughters are traded to other tribes unless they run away from home, everyone learns to fight and toughen up or die in shame. Plus that orcish armor is quite sick.
