  • Does anyone know what race the dragonborn is slaying alduin on alduin's wall. I believe it is a nord due to the fact when you slay the dragon that is attacking whiterun because when ireleth says she doesn't believe you are a dragon born a gaurd responds with you won't get it housecarl you ain't a nord. It is obviously a human race but any input would help.

    • The LDB's race isn't stated in the lore.

The guard says she doesn't understand the Dragonborn business because she isn't a Nord, Dragonborn are a part of Nordic culture.

    • Well, the Dragonborn IS Nord. When you were still called prisoner, you were a Nord.

Also, the Dragonborn in the trailers is Nord. Sucks being Khajit....

And? That doesn't mean he's that race in the canon lore, just by default.

      Dragon Break happens.

Also, the question was what race the DB on the wall is. The fact that the DB has been depicted as a male Nord in the trailers AND the intro, makes it an easy guess.

      Does. Not. Make. It. Canon.

Unless if you also want to claim that it's canon that the LDB joined the Volkihar -- but that can't be said yet, since if it were canon why give two options?

    • It's not canon until the next game, at the very least. The Last Dragonborn is not necessarily a nord unless they state it in a later game.

    • Actually, in every Elder Scrolls game there is a canon race. There is also a canocial timeline for each game. Most of the Elder Scrolls games utilize the race native to the province that appears in each game. ( EG Morrowind - Dunmer, Oblivion - Imperial, Skyrim - Nord ). Since there is not a peice of external literature as with the other Elder Scrolls games, it is inferred that like all other games in the series that the trend is the same.

If You really think the canon Dragoborn is a Nord just because the Dragonborn in the trailers is a Nord, does that also means he is a vampire? Since that same Nord is decipted with vampiric eyes in the Dawnguard DLC?

The Dragonborn, as well as the previous Elder Scrolls heroes, has no specific race or gender or class.

You are confusing canon race with inferred race. It's inferred that there's an "ideal" race to play for story purposes, but there's always the option to go a different route, which makes it so there is no canon race.

True, but we never saw the Nerevarine's race in the trailer of Morrowind.

      From the Nerevarine wikia page:

"Former employee Michael Kirkbride later stated about the quote, "That line was a mistake a designer made in haste. Consider it a glitch." "
