  • 04:18:22: KINMUNE: Hello there, Herma-Mora's Champion!
  • 04:19:25: Herma-Mora's Champion: Is it usually this lonely?
  • 08:53:06: RenzXVI: YES!! My stupid tadpole is going to be something else that isn't a tadpole!
  • 08:54:56: RenzXVI: It now looks like it's sick with Hydrocephalus or something because of the lumps on its forehead but at least it isn't a dumb tadpole.
  • 09:10:53: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: lol
  • 09:11:50: RenzXVI: Hey ashley, I have this item https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Macho_Brace I don't really get what it means when it says it's EV(effort value) enhancing. I think it says it raises the attributes? But how does that work if I only gain attributes when I level up?
  • 09:12:57: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: i'm not sure how to explain this
  • 09:13:19: RenzXVI: :p
  • 09:14:13: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: effort values are gained when defeating pokemon. they are one of the things that determine your stat gains
  • 09:14:41: RenzXVI: So they are like points so it knows how much stats I gain when I level up?
  • 09:15:58: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Effort_values this article explains it better than i can
  • 09:16:42: RenzXVI: I read it but it's confsing. XD
  • 09:17:58: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: i only really pay attention to them with pokemon i raise for competitive play. i wouldn't worry about it for your in-game team
  • 09:18:27: RenzXVI: Yeah but I just wanted to know if the Macho Brace is worth using.
  • 09:20:08: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: no
  • 09:20:14: RenzXVI: Oh lol
  • 09:20:16: RenzXVI: Ok then
  • 09:20:33: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: there are more efficient ways to gain EVs
  • 09:22:05: RenzXVI: Well, if my pokemon isn't holding anything, I might as well give it the thing.
  • 09:22:17: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: it lowers your speed though
  • 09:22:39: RenzXVI: Oh yeah, I forgot.
  • 09:23:30: RenzXVI: I already gave it to Swoobat though, I'll let him play with it for a while, would be rude to just take it again so soon.
  • 09:24:35: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: lol
  • 09:25:40: RenzXVI: So far, most of my pokemon that evolve become hideous. Except Venipede, even though it turned into a tire, I think it looks better, the final form looks epic too.
  • 09:28:19: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: most of them have ugly middle forms and decent-looking final forms
  • 09:28:46: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: emboar is even uglier than pignite though
  • 09:29:02: RenzXVI: Yeah, I am sad, I really hate the later forms
  • 09:30:31: RenzXVI: BUt turns out he's the only dual type among the starters.
  • 09:31:13: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: yup
  • 09:37:41: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: gtg bye
  • 10:07:01: KINMUNE: Hello there, ZeSolidShibe!
  • 10:07:07: ZeSolidShibe: sup
  • 13:39:28: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: hi
  • 16:59:37: Milliewhite40: Hey
  • 16:59:41: Milliewhite40: Heyo
  • 17:11:35: KINMUNE: Hello there, Pendragggon!
  • 17:11:42: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: hi
  • 17:13:45: Pendragggon: Hi. I'm new to the Wiki, I have a question I'd to put out there, but can't seem to find where/how to start a post. (sorry if this is off the topic you are discussing)
  • 17:14:47: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: ask away
  • 17:17:09: Pendragggon: I have been reading a lot of post & threads. A bunch of mentions for the town of Riften. Is there a quest that sends one there? It is soo far aawy
  • 17:18:01: Pendragggon: Also!) how do I keep horses from walking away every time I dismount?
  • 17:18:53: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: only stolen horses walk away
  • 17:19:22: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: and yeah, there's tons of quests taking place in riften. it's one of the biggest cities in skyrim
  • 17:19:30: Pendragggon: Oh. Is that so. Even ones found out in the middle of no-where?
  • 17:19:38: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: yes
  • 17:19:57: Pendragggon: k :)
  • 17:21:14: Pendragggon: but in re Riften, I am in Whiterun, is there a quest that tells me to speak with someone in RIften or do I just head-out?
  • 17:23:07: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: there are quests that will send you to riften, yes
  • 17:23:26: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: the main quest even sends you there at one point
  • 17:25:04: Pendragggon: okay, thx, I don't know why it interests me so, just wonderin' I guess
  • 17:55:29: Milliewhite40: RIP
  • 18:13:18: KINMUNE: Hello there, Aquila2002!
  • 18:13:23: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: hi
  • 18:13:29: Aquila2002: Hey, Ashley!
  • 18:13:41: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: what's up?
  • 18:14:12: Aquila2002: I just saw the weekly News, and have voted on the poll. I do believe you will easily become a Dmod :)
  • 18:14:18: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: thx
  • 18:14:31: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: yeah, people seem to be generally in favor
  • 18:15:37: Aquila2002: It's also very good that you have become more involved in the discussions, as you used to never comment on there. Now, you average in several types of posts, even Lore posts, which only a minority of Users comments there have any sort of accountance.
  • 18:16:56: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: lore posts are the main interesting part of the /d. the rest is good and all, but rarely sparks debates
  • 18:17:44: Aquila2002: Yes, very true. As a Veteran, i'd like to formally extend an extremely late welcome to the Lore community, and the general /d community as well!
  • 18:18:05: Aquila2002: >And be careful of Jauffre. He loves to make depates into personal feuds
  • 18:18:50: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: aye, i've noticed
  • 18:19:08: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: he did vote for me despite having had several debates with me though
  • 18:19:35: Aquila2002: Despite him being quite annoying at times, he still knows you're a good lass ;)
  • 18:19:48: Aquila2002: What is your favourite Lore topic, btw?
  • 18:19:54: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: i'd say the dwemer
  • 18:20:35: Aquila2002: Ah, the Dwemer have the popularity of Mystery with them. The questions are never new, though. Always "how they dissapeared"
  • 18:20:45: Aquila2002: Or where they went
  • 18:21:00: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: true
  • 18:21:11: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: "where they went" is of course a nonsense question
  • 18:22:00: Aquila2002: Not necesarily, if the context is about what happened to them.
  • 18:22:00: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: they didn't go anywhere. they're either one with their god or they're gone
  • 18:22:52: Aquila2002: There are several theories: Nu-Midium, CHIM, General Apotheosis, Just...Dissapeared, Died, Ghosts etc...
  • 18:24:00: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: of those, only Numidium and Disappeared are valid. the others are disproven by what we discover in morrowind
  • 18:25:41: Aquila2002: Sources are there to contradict others, in order to appeal to the Unreliable Narrator. Sotha Sils's Last Words, for instance, give insight from Divayth Fyr about their dissapearance, and says something in comparison to the Psijiics and PSJJJJ
  • 18:29:35: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: out of game sources can only be taken as canon if they do not contradict in-game ones
  • 18:31:49: Aquila2002: I wouldn't use Canonicity with Lore. What is and isn't Canon do not matter, because Lore will have contradicting sources. Even Vivec is contradicted by a Madman who crossed Mora, as an example. Just in general, never preach Canonicity about Lore, as most of the "deep" discussions will reference something OOG anyways.
  • 18:34:57: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: i am not altogether opposed to OOG lore, but in-game lore always weighs heavier
  • 18:36:20: Aquila2002: There wouldn't really be a reason for it to weight heavier, though. OOG wouldn't just be MK, for instance. Many of the things you've heard of, ranging from Arkay's History, to Anu being the Godhead are all actually...Headcanons.
  • 18:36:47: Aquila2002: Well, Head-canonical theories on the Sub-reddit taken with a prett heavy grasp when it comes to discussions about Lore
  • 18:38:55: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: i never said OOG would just be MK. all those headcanons are nice and all, but if something in the games hints that they aren't true, they aren't true.
  • 18:41:31: Aquila2002: I understand your point, and MK was an example (never stated that you only thought it was MK. Was worried you might think that after I wrote it. Common misunderstanding, that). But as I stated before, sources, no matter wether or not they are in-game, WILL contradict eachother. They have to. It's a writers technique in order for Lore to never truly be "certain", specifically when it comes to the more curious and mysterious Lore stuff.
  • 18:42:29: Aquila2002: So if a source from in-game contradicts an OOG source, it wouldn't mean it's wrong. Same way around, and the same with both In-Game sources, just like the Creation Myths.
  • 18:44:12: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: the creation myths are known for a fact to be part of the universe. whether OOG content is poar of the TES universe is debatable, and thus it should be held in less regard than in-game lore
  • 18:44:21: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: part*
  • 18:46:24: Aquila2002: But what about the Creation Myths having a contradicting History? Which one is "Wrong"? Answer is that both of them are correct, because the context is that they are beliefs. I'm just trying to make you Understand why contradictions wouldn't make something "Wrong", or less relevant.
  • 18:46:57: Aquila2002: And so this begs the question: What about Lore discussions which are sourced by OOG lore? What is then the "relevant" Lore?
  • 18:48:37: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: the creation myths take place in a time before convention, meaning it's all one big dragon break. all of them are correct. like i said, i don't have a problem with OOG lore so long as it does not contradict in-game lore
  • 18:50:23: Aquila2002: Alright, but because it happened before the Convention doesn't make it into one big Dragon Break. Time, or AKA, or Dragon, didn't break then. It was only very, very Unstable until it was corrected at the Convention.
  • 18:54:22: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: how does time being unstable work? either time flows regularly, or it doesn't, as with a dragon break. i don't see how there can be an in between.
  • 18:58:00: Aquila2002: Before the Convention, time was seen as "Unstable" in Mundus. It was soon after it's Creation, of course, and no Life was yet formed on it. Also, due to the Magna-Ge and Magnus leaving, the Magic they left behind became Volatile. This means that it was quite ambiguous as to if something were to fuck up, or stay alright. Sort of like a wild Animal that lets you approach it. You are not sure if it can change it's mind and bite your head off. It's only after the Convention that Time became stabilised, the Towers were placed to help with this, and finally Mortals could inhabit Nirn
  • 18:59:26: Aquila2002: That is also the reason why, in TESV, the EoM was seen as a very dangerous and Volatile item, and Ancano was trying to get to it's core. If he did, the massive Magic/Magnus would be released, potentially screwing up time again, and making it unstable, or even breaking time, and causing a Dragon Break.
  • 19:01:01: Aquila2002: (It is, I believe, noted in the Dragon Break page somewhere that the before-Convention times were all one big Dragon Break, but that would only then be referenced probably in a sentence in one book, or something along the lines. It isn't certain, but it was definitely not fine and dandy right after the creation of Mundus)
  • 19:04:06: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: one sentence in one book is enough if there's no conflicting evidence
  • 19:05:06: Aquila2002: It wouldn't, really. That's where the Unreliable Narrator comes in. Unless it was in the Pocket Guides, it will never be 100% true
  • 19:05:42: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: bc the pocket guides are somehow more reliable than other sources?
  • 19:06:41: Aquila2002: Because the pocket guides were made so that they weren't in the perspective of people writing them. It was written purposefully by Bethesda as a Base
  • 19:07:32: Aquila2002: If it is written in any other book, that book was written in the perspective of a Mortal living in the TES Universe, which isn't enlightened about the fact that they are in the TES universe
  • 19:08:04: Aquila2002: Hence making their word only a reference, and never solid proof.
  • 19:09:02: Aquila2002: In a similar way, if I were to write a religious book, and some higher beings were to read it in knowledge that I am not enlightened about Divine stuff, they wouldn't take my word for fact. Only a reference
  • 19:10:00: Aquila2002: (Because people in the TES Universe weren't informed by Bethesda what to say. Their publishings were made so that it is from their perspective, not the developers, for instance
  • 19:10:04: Aquila2002: )
  • 19:10:31: The Beautiful Princess Ashley: the pocket guides are canonically written by the imperial geographical society and thus, it is their vision on the facts
  • 19:11:39: Aquila2002: Yeah, but it was made that way by Bethesda, because they wanted to put it into the games. I remember it saying somewhere that Bethesda wrote it from their perspective, making the UN not active here and making that intel the base
  • 19:12:15: Aquila2002: After all, you can't go into a house in the games, and find a book published by Bethesda...
  • 19:19:48: Aquila2002: I am certain it was written somewhere that the PGE's are fully Bethesda. If not, then the PGE's wouldn't hold any heavier relevance than any other in-game or OOG sources
  • 19:27:16: Aquila2002: KINMUNE, ENUMNIK?
  • 19:27:18: KINMUNE: Yes.
  • 19:27:32: Aquila2002: Finally, I know the truth...
  • 19:28:03: Aquila2002: KINMUNE, I must go now. Will you tell Ashley it was a good chat?
  • 19:28:03: KINMUNE: Not even remotely.
  • 19:28:13: Aquila2002: KINMUNE, please?
  • 19:28:15: KINMUNE: No.
  • 19:28:29: Aquila2002: KINMUNE, what if I put a cherry on top?
  • 19:28:29: KINMUNE: Ask SuperSajuuk, he probably knows.
  • 19:28:55: Aquila2002: KINMUNE, will you please?
  • 19:28:55: KINMUNE: Yes.
  • 19:29:00: Aquila2002: Thank you.
