Yep, I'm gong there. CHIM, probably the most contraversial lore theory around the Wiki (My Dawnguard ones may take the prize, but I digress). In case you don't know what it is, the theory goes that the whole Elder Scrolls series is a dream from a Godhead, and that if a mortal discovers this and can still say they exist (even though they technically don't) they can manipulate Aurbis to their will. According to the Theory, some notable figures on Tamriel have achieved CHIM, most notebly, Vivec and Tiber Septim. If CHIM is real or not, is being debated in the community as we speak, I personally think it could go either way. At first, I used to completely believe it as lore, but after seeing some different opinions on it, I've become a little more doubtful, but not to the point of actual denial of it, just questioning.
This whole theory was invented by Michael Kirkbride a former writer for the Elder Scrolls series, who left after The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. None the less, he still writes lore for the Elder Scrolls, one of the more popular theories (besides CHIM) that he wrote was the Thalmor End of Mundus theory. But, the point I want to bring up with this blog is tha, is Michael Kirkbride possibly the Godhead that is talked about in the CHIM theory?
Let's consider what we know about the Godhead, which is little to nothing. Seriously, we have very little information on who (or what) the Godhead is. We hardly know if it even exists, the only real proof we have is a small reference in a Black Book. So, with this in mind, the Godhead could be just about anyone or anything. So, with that in mind, the possibility that MK is the Godhead, is just as likely as anything else really.
Now, let's talk about the Michael Kirkbride. When you think of the Godhead theory, it's safe to assume whoever they are, they have this whoke universe in their mind, that's so detailed it basically exists, in a sense. And since MK is making such complex lore for the Elder Scrolls, it's safe to assume he's thinking about this universe a lot. Does this not completely fit the description for the Godhead? Anyway, most of the lore he comes up with is the deep lore, the very detailed stuff, as if this universe is in his head. Also, MK, has kind of shown to have an ego, to an extent, when it comes to the lore of the Elder Scrolls, so I wouldn't be surprised if he makes himself this.
Another thing to ponder is that if MK is truly the Godhead, the Elder Scrolls Universe might technically exist, in the way that it always has. Since, if it really is just the imagination of a Godhead, and this Godhead is real, they're... I guess... kind of real. It's complicated I know, but just think about it. So, do you agree or disagree?
