Major game glitch

Yeah so ever since they released the new update everything seemed fine and smooth. that was until i found out that when ever my character goes into water larger then a poudle the entire game freezes. I thought it was just a file glitch with my character so i deleted that file and started a new one, but the same thing happened again, and again and again. I dont know what to do and i cant really avoid going in water since some quests require me to either swim to an island or go into water to get some where. What should I do.
