Regarding the irrelevant topic[edit source]

Hey Agent!

First of all, don't get me wrong, I've seen you adding pics to quite a lot of articles, and am in fact grateful about this. I pointed the pic as irrelevant because even though the Oblivion Crisis may have hit hardest in Cyrodiil, other provinces also had to suffer. Other than that, if with every recorded major event an image were to be added it would result in a messy list of things if you catch my meaning. If you think my edit was unjustified, you can undo it of course.

Keep on editing!

Reply to your message[edit source]

Hey Agent,

If you're having issues with code editing, I recommend swapping your editor to the source code editor, which can be done by going here and enabling "Source Editor." (Don't forget to hit save at the bottom if you do.)

As two side remarks, I'm unsure if should exactly use the SkyrimLocations template on pages. I'll try to discuss with other editors later and get their opinions. Anyway, try to put the For template below any infobox, per formatting.

Oh, and you're fine with having caption issues. If you're moving images to the infobox via a non-source editor then just try to edit off the captions before you move them. If you need more editing help, feel free to message me or any of the admin. Thanks, and have a good day! The_CrusaderTalkpage09:53:31_May 03, 2016

Re: Haafingar[edit source]

Hi, thanks for the message. The description that is already on there is relevant, but you're right that it doesn't quite cover enough stuff. You can add more actual lore and history to the article if you'd like, just remember to source everything properly. —Atvelonis (talk) 01:53, May 4, 2016 (UTC)

So first make sure you are using Source Editor, and then at the end of a sentence add <ref>Name of the reference</ref>. If you want to use the same reference more than once on one article, you can do <ref name="Name">Name of the reference</ref> the first time, and <ref name="Name"/> every time after that. Then add {{refs}} at the bottom of the article.
If that didn't make sense, we have an official page explaining them in more detail here, and also I am working on another guide in a sandbox here, so you can learn from those as well. —Atvelonis (talk) 14:02, May 4, 2016 (UTC)

Malukah Skyrim[edit source]

I just want to say that i really love that Skyrim tribute you have on your profile. The Cat Master (talk) 04:14, May 6, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Image Needed[edit source]

Yeah, feel free to remove the "image needed" categories once you've added some. Usually those categories are added automatically by infobox templates (when there's no file name with the "image" parameter), but some pages (like lore pages) actually have those categories manually listed. In that case, just click the trash icon next to the category under the "Categories" section on the right side of the page in editing mode. --Shockstorm (talk) 16:36, May 25, 2016 (UTC)

Images[edit source]

Hi Mara, I noticed you have been adding images. While we appreciate this, images need to have no HUD on them. The images in Kidnapped for Ransom and Butterfly (Online) are good examples of this. Otherwise, the pictures are good. Just try to keep all HUD and icons off the picture. Thanks! Ottoman Hold Message Me My Action 08:39:18 June 03, 2016

No problem m8. You're doing a great job at finding articles that need help. Keep up the good work! Ottoman Hold Message Me My Action 02:52:43 June 04, 2016

Images[edit source]

By the way, if you're uploading an image of an item, it should have a transparent background. So something like this instead of this. And for better image quality they should be in the .png format instead of .jpg, no matter what type of image it is. Thanks! —Atvelonis (talk) 13:59, June 5, 2016 (UTC)

NPC images[edit source]

I realize I forgot to mention this earlier, sorry, but NPC images have to be exactly 600x1000 pixels in size, so that they fit well in the infobox. If they're too thin or too wide then the dimensions are altered so it doesn't work out as well. Since this is the official standard for NPC images you should remember to take it into account for future uploads. Thanks! —Atvelonis (talk) 23:40, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Agent of Mara's Uploads[edit source]

Hey Mara,

I saw your message on Kora's talkpage so I decided in turn to take a look at some of your images. In fact, a lot of them have not been marked as low quality (the map images), and are fantastic additions to the wiki. The second thing I noticed was the high quality, in terms of resolution of the Morrowind NPC images. Which begs the question, why were they marked "poor quality"? For me, I think the "poor quality" template is a bit misleading. Firstly, it implies resolution/clarity quality, and secondly, it doesn't allow for the person adding the template to specify why they'd been marked as such. In the case of the images you added, they were marked as such because the central reticule/crosshairs are still visible. I'm pretty sure there's a way of disabling that in-game, and if not, editing it out afterwards.

In short, the images you've added are very useful, and won't take a lot of editing at all until they are 100% there. Getting into adding images can be annoying and disheartening at first because of all the small things that could get an image marked as "low quality", when in reality they're far from it. However, it'd be great if you could persevere, because you are genuinely helping out.

Regards, Bronkiin (talk) 12:22, June 10, 2016 (UTC)

Map images[edit source]

By the way, map images for infoboxes should usually be for the world map rather than the local map. This allows users to visually figure out where the location is in relation to other places. Local map images are useful but should be in the gallery or something instead of the infobox. Thanks! —Atvelonis (talk) 19:41, June 12, 2016 (UTC)

Oh, and great job on the Morrowind images overall though! They're very helpful. :) —Atvelonis (talk) 19:54, June 12, 2016 (UTC)
So this is how I think it would work. In the case of the examples you gave me, the Vivec, Temple Canton would have a map image from inside Vivec City, but centered on the entire Canton, so you can see how close it is to other buildings in the city that are nearby.
If I understand the layout right then the Justice Offices would have an image of the Temple Canton map (what it has now works). And then the Hall of Justice Secret Library would have a map view of the inside of the main Justice Offices. If that makes any sense. —Atvelonis (talk) 00:55, June 13, 2016 (UTC)
What you're doing now looks fantastic, great job! One tiny thing though, if you're placing the image in an infobox/in a gallery then generally you don't need to put any extra code (like |thumb) before/after the file name; the name alone works on galleries and most infoboxes. The extra formatting code is only useful for images that are somewhere else in the article. —Atvelonis (talk) 22:04, June 14, 2016 (UTC)
Well what I'm doing just saves a little bit of time. For example {{MorrowindMapImages}} actually includes the {{Bethimage}} template (which is what is added when you use the "Licensing" dropdown tab on Special:Upload) but it also includes the category Morrowind: Map Images. The category needs to be added either way, but with the template I'm adding it does everything at once.
It would actually be easier if you simply placed "{{MorrowindMapImages}}" or "{{MorrowindLocationImages}}" etc. (depending on the image) for the file code under "Summary" for future uploads, but I can handle the ones you've already uploaded. Oh, and sidenote, if you haven't seen this page already it could be useful since you're uploading so much: Special:MultipleUpload. —Atvelonis (talk) 01:40, June 15, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Red Link[edit source]

Oh, ok. In the past some people would try to bypass redirects, and I thought that was what you were doing. I created a redirect to fix the redlink beforehand, but your cache must've not updated to show the link as blue instead of red. Doing a null edit (click on the arrow next to the edit button and choose Null Edit) or adding ?action=purge to the end of a page url to update the cache should fix things like that. --Shockstorm (talk) 21:53, June 12, 2016 (UTC)

DLC characters[edit source]

I don't know if this is clear in the style guidelines (they're slightly outdated), but make sure to check if an image you're uploading is from a DLC or the base game. If it's from a DLC like Bloodmoon for example, then use {{BloodmoonCharacterImages}} instead of {{MorrowindCharacterImages}}. Thanks! —Atvelonis (talk) 17:41, June 21, 2016 (UTC)

We have this policy that you aren't supposed to have the game in the lead of the article for NPC pages. So instead of writing, say, "Ulfric Stormcloak is a Nord in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" you would have to include detail about the NPC, for example, "Ulfric Stormcloak is a Nord Jarl in Windhelm" or something to that effect. —Atvelonis (talk) 18:33, June 21, 2016 (UTC)

Regarding Morrowind armorpiece images[edit source]

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me out with something. I've been trying to figure out how to get an image of an individual armorpiece in Morrowind, but I'm unable to find anything on it. I was told by The Cat Master that you might be able to help me out, since you've got alot of experience with it. Thanks in advance, CarloV3r (talk) 17:30, July 7, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Morrowind armorpiece images[edit source]

Thanks alot, I'm trying to get an image of an individual armorpiece, as in only that armorpiece without any surroundings. I've tried the Morrowind Creation Kit, to see if it's somehow possible to get a render of the item, but I couldn't figure it out. For example

An image such as this one.

CarloV3r (talk) 10:52, July 8, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Morrowind armorpiece images[edit source]

Alright, I'll try that, thanks alot. I've got Photoshop, so creating an image with a transparent background shouldn't be a problem. Thanks for the help. CarloV3r (talk) 11:13, July 8, 2016 (UTC)

Have a Fishy Stick[edit source]

Have a fishy stick!
The Cat Master has awarded you a Fishy stick! For adding images to the Morrowind pages and general improvment. Thank You!

Re: Smuggler (Morrowind)[edit source]

Hey, Thank you for confirming that. I went ahead and renamed the page with the info you provided. The Cat Master (talk) 20:26, July 9, 2016 (UTC)

Bear Armor/Nordic Mail[edit source]

Oh great, thanks for the heads up. I was just working on that, but thanks for letting me know. I'll go work on the Wolf Armor pieces then. Or were you working on those aswell? CarloV3r (talk) 12:52, July 10, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Bear Armor/Nordic mail[edit source]

Ah great. Yeah it can be a pain to remove the background sometimes, I usually use the pen tool in Photoshop, takes a little more time but it looks alot cleaner. I'll also get all the missing Tribunal images, if you don't mind. It's the entire Royal Guard Armor Set so that shouldn't be too hard. CarloV3r (talk) 13:03, July 10, 2016 (UTC)

Redirect to Ring of Azura[edit source]

Hi Agent,

I couldn't help but notice that message you left on Atvelonis' wall, and since it seemed like you needed some instant help I decided to do it. I removed the redirect, you should be able to create a page on it now.

CarloV3r (talk) 13:19, July 23, 2016 (UTC)

Nice job[edit source]

Hey, wanted to say thanks again for all your work. Also, just a reminder, the |name parameter and redlinks generally needs to stay on pages, as you can see here. Overall, great job :) --Shockstorm (talk) 23:32, July 23, 2016 (UTC)

Yeah, for articles that we want to have (but don't yet, like Underground Caves), we want to keep those redlinks. If it's something unrelated to Elder Scrolls or something that will never be a page or redirect, then we remove those redlinks. For the name parameter, it's only needed if the page title uses parentheses or otherwise isn't the ingame name. Like Molag Mar is just called "Molag Mar" (as it's just a location in Morrowind, and doesn't appear in any other games), but Ebonheart (Morrowind) appears in several games - in the infobox we just want to call it "Ebonheart". Hope that makes sense. --Shockstorm (talk) 20:53, July 24, 2016 (UTC)

News Team Proposition![edit source]

Hello there! Madman97 here. I am on the news team and Atvelonis has tasked me with carrying out interviews with notable users to strengthen community ties. Since you have been going around adding buttloads of content, this caught our eye and we were wondering if you would like to answer a few questions for the next interview. Most questions will pertain to the work you do here but you may be asked how you came to be here depending on the theme of the interview. To give you an idea of what the final product will look like, see here. On behalf of the news team, Atvelonis, and Tim, we really hope you accept. Get back to me as soon as you have an answer! Thanks again! Madman97 (talk) 15:48, August 7, 2016 (UTC)

Excellent to hear! I'm going to start out by asking you a few easy questions that I want you to answer with as much detail as possible. Copy/paste the questions/answers onto my talkpage. I'll go through the data as soon as possible and turn it into the final product, which I will post here once it is finished and released to the community. Thank you again for agreeing to do this. It really helps me out.
1) You are relatively new here and yet you've been editing more than most people do in a year! Tell me a little bit about yourself and how you came to get so involved.
2) Where did you learn to do all this editing? Were you on a prior wikia before here?
3) Since you're here, I assume you are a fan of the Elder Scrolls series. How did you get into them? Which is your favorite?
4) The most important question of all: How do you enjoy the community?

Re: Vampires in Ghana[edit source]

I've deleted it now, thanks for the report. It is a little worrying that the thread stuck around for a full day and no forum moderator deleted it... if you spot anything else (vandalism, spam threads, etc.) that a mod missed, put it somewhere like the vandalism in progress page, which I check daily. —Atvelonis (talk) 14:31, August 10, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Images[edit source]

thanks for advice, I am trying to get gamma correction right in the game, I guess it's still need tinkering around.

you guessed right, I don't know how to remove that quality template. --Rupuzioks (talk) 16:27, August 17, 2016 (UTC)

I think I found how to remove it, I am always checking if there is classic editor first. :) --Rupuzioks (talk) 16:34, August 17, 2016 (UTC)
I am using Fraps to capture a screenshot, because game's feature doesn't always work for me. So using Fraps in game gamma correction is working. --Rupuzioks (talk) 16:41, August 17, 2016 (UTC)

Re:Almalexia disambig?[edit source]

Hey Agent,

Disambiguation pages are usually made when there can be some kind of confusion as to whether the name is either one thing or another. So yes, I'd say in this context, a disambiguation page would be a practical thing to have. I don't necessarily think the 7 examples you provided should also be on that page, but the first 4 should definitely be, as there is no difference between them.

Hope I helped,

Yeah np, it's a new thing Wikia released today (see here). You've done a ton of great work (esp just in the past day), although it'd probably be annoying to get notifications for all that stuff :p --Shockstorm (talk) 13:42, August 23, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Summon Centurion Sphere[edit source]

Hi, I just checked in construction set and the script is saying: Player->AddSpell "summon_centurion_unique" So it's Dwemer Animunculi spell according to spell ID. --Rupuzioks (talk) 13:30, August 26, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Aralor's Intervention[edit source]

HI, I think you are wrong, it's fortify attribute: personality effect, so it should be that other icon. Or are you actually checking in game what it looks? Maybe it's a bug then. --Rupuzioks (talk) 16:47, August 29, 2016 (UTC)

I just confirmed by adding this spell with console command, it is fortify attribute icon, I guess they just look the same resized. --Rupuzioks (talk) 17:07, August 29, 2016 (UTC)

Redoran Council Hall[edit source]

a very minor issue. When you note pages for deletion, could you please check that there's nothing important on that page? There's a number of skill books unique to those Redoran Councillor's homes, as well as a lot of individual books, that would clutter up the Council Hall page. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 18:56, September 3, 2016 (UTC)

Heh. Yeah, it is a massive room. (Like, seriously massive). Main quests and several minor quests are in those various council rooms. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 19:31, September 3, 2016 (UTC)

Clothing/jewelry categories[edit source]

Hey, just to let you know, it's not necessary to add the clothing and jewelry categories manually since the infobox template can add them (personally I don't think they're needed, although if people think they should be there we can just have them added automatically via the template) --Shockstorm (talk) 18:08, October 1, 2016 (UTC)

Concept Art article[edit source]

Hi Agent,

Awesome to see you've created a Concept Art (Morrowind) page. I was just wondering if you were working on creating one for Oblivion and its DLCs aswell. I've added a lot of concept art for the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine DLC, so I was wondering if you'd be ok with me creating those pages.

—CarloV3r Talk/Contributions 16:51, October 2, 2016 (UTC)

Hey again Agent,
I noticed those Dunmer Saint images on the Concept Art (Morrowind) article, and I was just wondering if, in this case, textures of the 'artwork' wouldn't be better. I've come across textures of all 13 of the saints, which means it's basically just an image of just the Saint's wall painting from a straightforward point of view. I do think the images of the shrines you've uploaded are better for a location page, but I thought a texture might suit the concept art article better.
Let me know what you think,
—CarloV3r Talk/Contributions 15:21, October 3, 2016 (UTC)
I suppose me uploading them as seperate files is the best thing to do, since your images are perfect for location images. I've got thirteen textures. I don't actually know how many Dunmer Saints there are though. Can't seem to find it either. Care to enlighten me?
—CarloV3r Talk/Contributions 19:00, October 3, 2016 (UTC)
Yeah, you were right. The file name is tx_fresco_newtribunal_01.dds. I uploaded it. I came across an image named tx_saint_relms_01.dds though, which would suggest that the Saint portrayed on the image is St. Relms. But we don't have any pages on a Saint named Relms. I was just wondering if you could clear this up, since this is your area of expertise. I've added it to the page with the description 'St. Relms' for now. Feel free to adjust/delete it if necessary.
—CarloV3r Talk/Contributions 19:45, October 3, 2016 (UTC)
Nah, they were in Morrowind's files. Just under a different name. I uploaded them among with some other textures I found. I recognized a couple of illustrations, but couldn't quite put my finger on them. I thought, seeing that this is your area of expertise, you might be able to see what is portrayed on the textures.

Re: Bloodmoon or Mars?[edit source]

Yeah, I'm also doubting the legitimacy of that image. I would be a lot more comfortable with using Carlo's version, which is taken directly from the Dawnguard game files. The current one is allegedly used in the Bloodmoon DLC, but given its other problems (I did a search and came up with an inverted image of Mars, and you found a rotated version of the Moon) I would rather not use it. At least with the Dawnguard one I can be 100% sure that it's the real picture. —Atvelonis (talk) 16:50, October 5, 2016 (UTC)

Re:Amazing[edit source]

Thanks mate, appreciate it. :)
The Developers (Skyrim) article was a lot of work, because of all the images. But I'm definitely happy with how it turned out. I'm a little disappointed about the amount of The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion concept art, but I guess it'll have to do. :/
Thanks again,

Re:Derek[edit source]

Hey Agent,

Yeah that's pretty much all I could find on him aswell. I checked the Construction Kit aswell, since that's the reference Tim had given. Test character's editor ID always start with TEST followed by their name, so I searched for the word 'TEST,' but there was no character named Derek. Just thought it was peculiar. —Carlo (Talk/Contributions) 14:52, October 21, 2016 (UTC)

No, it doesn't matter. Both {{Refs}} and {{refs}} works. And thanks! Really appreciate it.
