Why do you keep undoing my edits

Why do you keep undoing me editsis something wrong with themSkyrim9000 (talk) 03:23, May 27, 2014 (UTC)

I've looked at your edits, and they seemed to be quite redundant and unconstructive. It goes without saying using the console commands can mess up the game, they doesn't need to be stated on every article that brings it up, also don't say "you" or "I" when you're writing things, use second &/or thrid person nouns like The Player &/or The Dragonborn. Re: Removing the game from leads

Hi, yes Erik. It's still on and also on books. —EbonySkyrim Message! 06:09, May 28, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, there is no default lead on books either, it has been removed, and just above is a link to all books in each game. The only thing one might add if you feel like it, is a known location or if there is something special, like if it's involved in a quest or in a book series. No nead to add anything else. —EbonySkyrim Message! 15:48, May 28, 2014 (UTC)

hi just asking we need more pages in the eloder scolls online theres only a few pages in there can you add more Skyrim90000 (talk) 03:40, May 29, 2014 (UTC)

Did I do something wrong?

I just added some locations to a couple book pages and you immediately edited them. Im not mad or anything, I'm just wondering what I did wrong so I won't make the same mistakes again.

Thanks, DeltaFerret 02:28, May 31, 2014 (UTC)

Ok, just wondering. I have a small question though. For books, it seems that book locations that count as "stealing" aren't listed. Is there a reason for that, or is it just proper to have non-steal locations listed?

Thanks, DeltaFerret 02:45, May 31, 2014 (UTC)

Your spelling 'correction' on the Nocturnal page is wrong, it is 'Hearthfire', not 'Heartfire. - Argentum Rook (talk) 16:10, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

I hate to break it to you, but that is the correct spelling. - Erik the Mad (talk) 18:27, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

Hello, I'm the writer of the 'Druids of Galen' Page I really agree with what you said, I'm new to wikis so I don't really know what I'm doing! no one was really making a connection between the cowl of the Druid and the druids of galen, which I thought needed some attention. so how do delete that page? and any tips for future editing?HeliosHair UK (talk) 19:22, June 7, 2014 (UTC)

Enchanting xp and item values

I'm definitely getting the same amount of experience from enchants regardless of the item's value.

The following image is my original xp level, my xp level after enchanting an iron dagger with Paralyze using a grand soul, and my xp after reloading and enchanting a legendary daedric warhammer with the same enchant and soul. http://i.imgur.com/q9h2n6I.png

I do have the unofficial skyrim patch installed, could that be causing it...? --Big Bouffant (talk) 04:05, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

I uninstalled all of my mods, and after further testing, I've found that enchanting any item gives exactly 1 experience point, regardless of item value, enchant applied, or soul gem used. The console command "AdvSkill enchanting 1" can be used as reference. This can be easily confirmed in-game, and matches the information shown here. --Big Bouffant (talk) 15:25, June 15, 2014 (UTC)

De-capitalizing everything

Erik, I believe that your edits de-capitalizing everything are unproductive, because those things can be capitalized, as it doesn't matter much, and they fill up the edit box and are hard to check by administrators and patrollers. This type of thing is what got me falsely convicted of badgehunting a few months back.

Just some constructive criticism, that's all.

Sincerely (talk) 16:39, June 21, 2014 (UTC) (Ned1230)

Falsely? As I recall, the evidence against you was overwhelming. Besides, I've been told by an administrator that those things don't need to be capitalised, so I'm going with that. - Erik the Mad (talk) 16:42, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
User talk:Ned1230/Archive 2#Multiple edits Also they don't NEED to be capitalized. Means it doesn't matter. Sincerely (talk) 16:47, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
That's what I said. - Erik the Mad (talk) 16:49, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
I believe what Ned is saying is that those edits come off as Badgehunting. :/ Zippertrain85 (talk) 16:53, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I got that. But I tend to ignore hypocrites. - Erik the Mad (talk) 16:55, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

Does that make what he is saying incorrect though? Zippertrain85 (talk) 16:57, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
Not necessarily. But when he goes on a category-adding spree in the space of about ten minutes then accuses someone else of doing the same, it's more than a little annoying, among other things. Besides, as I said, I'm going with advice from an administrator over a serial abuser of the wiki. - Erik the Mad (talk) 17:00, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
I guess you have a point, Ned does binge-edit more often than he should. :P If an Admin told you to do that, than it's different. I thought they thought it was acceptable either way. Zippertrain85 (talk) 17:04, June 21, 2014 (UTC)
Read here about capitalization. —EbonySkyrim Message! 18:08, June 21, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, sorry 'bout the last message I replaced this with.

Just a friendly tip. However, I won't give you any tips again, just to let you know.

Sincerely (talk) 18:46, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

You never gave me any tips in the first place. You just projected your own problems onto someone else, as usual. - Erik the Mad (talk) 19:53, June 22, 2014 (UTC)

"It was referring to the fact that this is the first game in which they have a use"

Then that is what it needs to state. It does not state that, however, it says "they are the first appearance of butterflies in the Elder Scrolls series." which is factually incorrect. If it said "this is the first game in which they have a use" then I would have not edited the wiki. 20:17, June 25, 2014 (UTC)

If you really think reporting will change anything, go right ahead. You're irrelevant to this wiki, anyway. I've heard many complaints about you already. Your favourite article did, by definition, contain a proper noun. Go back to school, kid. The Admins won't do a thing. They'll just send some ballant warning like they'd do with anyone else in my situation. Go learn the definition of "vandalism", kid.

I'ma go on living like you never existed.

\m/O1s£@u±D£±N£1g£\m/ ( Awaken the somneling demon )

If I didn't have a reason to report you before, I certainly do, now.  Just don't forget that I tried to help you by posting links on your talk page that would have cleared things up had you not committed further vandalism by removing them without, I imagine, even trying to read them.  You don't get to remove stuff from your talk page, especially when it was intended to prevent a problem such as this - Erik the Mad (talk) 02:17, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

Vandalism in progress

Erik, hello. How are you? Long time, no see! What is going on here? I can tell by the reports you posted on the TES:VIP page that you seem quite upset by two separate users. I have done some investigating, but I find it unclear what the problem is. Since I am not fully certain a block is necessary for either user, I would greatly appreciate if you could explain for me exactly what happened, which users were involved which articles were involved, and what you expect me to do as an administrator to resolve it. I would love to part of the solution for you. Please get to me when you are available. :) --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 12:26, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

Thank you for your detailed response. I decided to investigate this matter as I believed that many of our staff members were too personally involved to resolve the issue fairly. I believe that Skyrim deserves a mild, probationary block with links to our policy pages. This will prevent all editing from the user, until they have had a chance to severely inspect and practice what is written in our policy pages. I will leave their talk page unlocked, so that they might reach out for aid if they have serious questions. I do not think blocking Snowbird will resolve anything, as you also stated. I believe where we, as members of this community, failed with Snowbird is that we were not aware when we were interacting with them how our words might affect him. It is is difficult to remain diplomatic. Emotions are messy things. Trust me, I know all too well. I am a manager in the customer service field. It upsets me a great deal to see members of this community rivaling each other and even wanting to leave because they feel alienated or offended. I found refuge here when I was going through a very difficult part in my life, and I wanted to build this community up even stronger and leave a solid foundation upon which it could rest when I took my inevitable leave of absence. I feel like I have not fully achieved that, though I have to some extent. Thank you, again, for caring about this wiki enough to even report troublesome users, and I think it says much to your character to admit when and where you went wrong when it came to both scenarios. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 22:00, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

Eye of Melka

On the edit of Eye of Melka I changed the weapon damage to 50... well simply because it's listed as 50 on my game and someone on the talk part of the page said it was 50 as well.

I know you changed it back and am not sure if it shows up for 40 for you or is if there is a leveling system on this staff.

If so this information needs to be included on that page, but as far as I know it shows 50 damage for me and others.

Please let me know what you find out.

Hades Executioner (talk) 06:03, July 2, 2014 (UTC)Hades Executioner

Do you think that perk information should be added to that page as well as additional information and to keep from further inquiring? I suspect I'm probably not the first or near the last to notice this change in damage due to this perk; I'm sorry for making the edit to the page without knowing all of the information.
I'm new to this site and when I looked up the staff to see if it had any more special value then sitting in my chest I noticed the damage change and made the edit without further information.
Best regards,

Amulet of Talos

And you removed my post on the Amulet of Talos Why? As it's correct Information.—This unsigned comment is by HyperionShadows (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

You said Roggvir was a 'trader' instead of a 'traitor.'  That's not really correct.  That, and I already explained why I removed it: it was redundant. - Erik the Mad (talk) 05:13, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

What was wrong with my edit?

I made an edit on the "Madwoman" page with reference to a character from the borderlands series, Face Mcshooty. It was in the trivia section, and I'm betting it's relevant enough (Having played both games myself). In the same fashion that the Madwoman wishes to be hit with the wabbajack, he wants to be shot in the head. If it was a spelling mistake or grammar mistake, or I violated any wiki rules, it would be much appreciated if you would tell me first so that I could make the appropriate edits while keeping the information I added.

-Java55555Obeseman (talk) 18:17, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

I understand that you think that my information is "ridiculous", however, it is not "obviously false". Assuming you haven't played the borderlands series, that is a reasonable claim. However, it is not false, and you can check on the borderlands wiki. I hope to resolve any dispute. Also, sorry for the edit.

Java55555Obeseman (talk) 22:03, July 7, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it's obviously false.  Don't add baseless nonsense to the wiki for no reason. - Erik the Mad (talk) 06:26, July 8, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, it's likely not a reference for several reasons (I've played borderlands 2) - however, Eric, don't be so harsh when explaining things like this. It's not the first time someone has complained about your edit summaries. Please see the Etiquette policy. Jimeee (talk) 10:13, July 8, 2014 (UTC)

Why do you keep undoing edits?

Why did you change my edit to Illusion Destruction Ritual?  The data was wrong demonstrably wrong and I corrected it.  Yet you undid the change without explanation.  It looks like you have a history of doing this.  Why?  TheRealJoeWiki (talk) 09:10, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

I did explain it, so don't try to pretend otherwise. - Erik the Mad (talk) 15:19, July 6, 2014 (UTC)

There's no need to send me any more messages.

I saw you left a message on my talk page, and I'm confused, here. I already told you that I have stopped adding the links, in one of my edit summaries. You win.

And also, I'm not the one with the large abuse log dating back to March 27, 2013. Editing links isn't a crime, so I don't know why you care so much. But, oh well. You can do or say whatever you want.

Have a good day/night/whatever! :)
