Fantastic! Great to see you here, it makes so much more sense to help build this site rather than one with no admins that is drowning in spam. - Lord KAJ Company Office 20:40, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Templates[edit source]

There great templates. Thank you for your dedication it will not go unoticed. Obviously the colors of the templates can be changed as well as adding images to reflect the purpose of the template. Check out the Pirates of the Caribbean Wiki in regards to maintnence templates the have got some fantasticc examples. Also I've decided to reform the Black Hand which is the Featured Article system I set up on Wikiscrolls, obviously the goal will be to get a council of five four Speakers and one Listner. I would be more than comftable putting you in charge of this project as its a job I think you do well at. It would help me out alot as I cant be everywhere at once although of course you dont have to, let me know what you think as soon as youre ready and i'll get things underway. - Lord KAJ Company Office 10:27, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

I'd be happy to lead the project, and help it become a more helpful council, but I have to bluntly obvious here; I don't know what the Black Hand is or what it does or whos who. Of course once I understand that I'll begin creating pages, goals, and templates immediately. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 10:45, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
As the Gray Fox said, Capital! Well basically the Black Hand is responsible for managing featured articles, deciding which articles are the best the wiki has to offer and should be featured on the main page, also for deciding which are below standards and need to be improved. in edition to this you need to choose who are worthy of the title of Speaker and which Speakers are abusing there title to bully others (sounds silly but it does happen). There can only be four speakers at a time so make those choices wisely. As you will have noticed Angela has been kind enough to transfer all my work from Wikiscrolls to here, I'm not sure if this is just mainspace articles or if it includes project

pages as well if it does the black hand will alredy be here if not I will have start afresh. So I hope that helps you out, I just got your message about the mentor program and thats also fine. If its ok with you I'm going to give myself the title of Speaker so thats three more members you need. One more thing before I go as per the style guide when I sort it out, articles will be written from a real world perspective, so rather than a person playing Oblivion or Morrowind a person living in Cyrodiil or Morrowind, im sure you know what I mean, thanks again. - Lord KAJ Company Office 11:10, 15 March 2008 (UTC)

FA[edit source]

Hi Game lord good to see your keeping busy. No doubt you have noticed I have set the featured article for this month to Mathieu Bellamont. Although it is not quite finished this is basically the pinnacle of what I'd like all NPC pages to be, if you compare it with UESP's article on Mathieu Bellamont I think you will understand my vision for the project. Unfortunately spelling and grammar has never been my strong point, if by chance you do read the article, and if (you most definately will) see any mistakes if you could correct them it would be greatly appreciated. - KAJ Talk 17:46, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

I'll get to it as soon as I can. Right now I'm doing quite a lot of work on the Categories, reorganizing them, and defining them more accurately. Afterwards I'm planning to finish Armor/Morrowind, but I'll probably be able to squeeze checking for grammar mistakes in there. So no problem :) - Game LordTalk|Contribs 17:51, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
P.S. That might have sounded sarcastic, but it wasn't intended to be.

Its probably best if I finish it first before it gets spell checked. I havent overlooked all the work you've been doing. indeed if continues I dare say I'll make you an Admin. - KAJ Talk 18:01, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

Whoops! Already done... Sorry about that :S I'll just do it again when you're done. I don't mind. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 18:03, 18 March 2008 (UTC)

From HironStake on my help.[edit source]

hi, ill try to help as much as i can, but i know a good place to get info: imperial library. google/yahoo it. thers alot of good stuff on there. Other than that tid-bit ill do my best but i cant do the templates and picture uploading (im none too tech savvy) but i can edit and put in info.

Vacation[edit source]

Hi Game Lord!

As you will have noticed , I havent been around much recently. Sorry about that but I have had a family greivence so I havent been as active as I would have liked. But enough of that I'm back now and I see you have put in an appliation for Adminship, I fully support you in this and if you want to go to Angela whenever youre ready and tell I've said its fine. Also we seem to have had an influx of new users which is great. I'm not sure if there have been any new Speakers added to the Black Hand yet? If not maybe you could make some promotions. Thanks again for your hard work and dedication. - KAJ Talk 10:13, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

All sorted. Also for some reason I recieved your message twice. Never mind. - KAJ Talk 15:43, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I hit the "Save changes" button twice by accident ;) Thought I deleted the second one though.... - Game LordTalk|Contribs 15:45, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

RE:Obliviowiki[edit source]

I didnt know. I doubt there will be a problem after all they only concentrate on Oblivion wheras we are the Elder Scrolls Wiki. I think its best if we just concentrate on our individual projects, they shouldnt be considered competitiors and certantely not enemies. - KAJ Talk 17:19, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I wasn't suggesting we should be hostile to them. I was just slightly worried that this might repeat itself. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 17:34, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

The vandalism you mean? - KAJ Talk 17:46, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

That and the constant competition, dislike of the other wiki, insults etc. In the end Nephele actually chose to leave UESP for a while, because she couldn't enjoy editing anymore. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 17:59, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I hope it doesnt come to that. UESP have always had a fear/dislike of other Elder Scrolls wiki's. The same thing happend when Wikiscrolls stared up, UESP considered them enemies and tried to dissuade their users from checking out the new site and I suspect users from their were behind the vandalsm we suffered there and the same here. I was gutted when I learned Nephele had left UESP that place can only get worse without her, and I see Rpeh is on his way out as well. We just have to hope for the best, and as I said ealir concentrate on our own site. - KAJ Talk 18:23, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
It wasn't UESP that had dislike of other sites, only a few users. The admins are doing their best to stop any cross-site vandalism. As for OblivioWiki, UESP seems to get on ok with them. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 09:48, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

sorry[edit source]

sorry about my copying my material from another website. ill spend a few days changing things so they wont be plagerized. I certainly didnt mean to cause any troubvle for the wiki.

Black Hand[edit source]

Greetings, Game Lord. I am GR Groe. Recently, I've begun working on battles for the wiki. I've written five already, and plan to continue on as much as I can, through the Oblivion Crisis and beyond. KAJ saw some of my articles and suggested that I talk to you about joining the Black Hand. Would I be eligible to do so? A full list of articles I've written can be found on my user page, if you need to see them. If I can, I look forward to joining the team! GR Groe 02:20, 29 April 2008 (UTC)GR Groe

I've looked through your work and have to say I'm impressed. I'm sure you'd be a great candidate for joining the Black Hand. Our main problem right now is that our job is finding articles that we consider our best quality, but we don't have that many articles yet. I generally am more of a technical editor (Templates, Categories etc.) and although I try to contribute as much as I can of course, it tends to be only databases (e.g. Armor)). I'll add you to the list, and wish you luck on our quest to seek out the featured. (Wow that sounded weird). By the way, you can also add the {{User Speaker}} template to your userpage. Check out KAJ's to see how. If you have any questions on the system feel free to ask! - Game LordTalk|Contribs 16:59, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

Mehrunes Dagon[edit source]

What do you think of Dagon's article so far? I'm hoping to get it featurable. - KAJ Talk 09:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I was pretty impressed, but wondered why you cut most of it out? - Game LordTalk|Contribs 10:17, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
It was copied ffrom the Imperial Libary, I wasnt sure of their copyright status so i thought it best to have complately original content. - KAJ Talk 10:24, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Ah, ok. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 10:24, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes I think that would be for the best, good idea. - KAJ Talk 10:36, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

We're talking about the Re-Do here right? - Game LordTalk|Contribs 10:37, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes. - KAJ Talk 10:40, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Admin[edit source]

Hi Game Lord. You're now an admin here. You'll probably find the admin guide useful. Please let me know if you need any help. Rather than deleting many pages, it's often better to redirect them to the new title. This avoids people following links from other sites and ending up at a blank page. Angela (talk) 03:06, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Well done on the adminship, ill put the template up. - KAJ Talk 12:14, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Updates[edit source]

Every thing is fine as far as I can see, congratulations on your Adminship by the way. Also I'm not sure if you had noticed this, but I thought it best to point out now in case of confusion. Basically Mankar Camoran's article calls him a Bosmer despite appearing in game as an Altmer. The reason for this, its common knowledge that Mankar's mother was a Bosmeri prostitute and that his father was the Camoran Usurper. The Usurper, who's real name was Haymon Cameron was a direct decendent of King Camoran Anaxes of Valenwood, a Bosmer. So despite technically being an Altmer he is in fact...a Bosmer. I hope this makes sense, I just felt that as an encyclopedia we should favour lore over gameplay mechanics. So I hope I havent bored you too much, any thoughts? - KAJ Talk 21:23, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I'd have thought we should list him as an altmer. My reason is that although he may probably be a bosmer, it's his game technic that defines his resistences appearance etc. For example, if I read that he's an altmer, I wouldn't go in there with armor, because altmer are excellent mages, wheras a Bosmer is less adept, and normally killable however one wishes. Do you see what I mean? - Game LordTalk|Contribs 09:41, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
I do, and therin lies the problem. According to lore, which is canon, it is impossible for him to be an Altmer as both his parents were Bosmer. I know its weird, but as were are writting articles from an in-universe perspective lore has to come before gameplay, if that makes sense. - KAJ Talk 11:38, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Conflicts[edit source]

Game Lord, the Oblivion Crisis is finished at last! Pleasure working with you on that. Now I plan to move on to the conflicts in the Mages Guild and Knights of the Nine. But I can't think of what these conflicts might be called. I have working titles posted on the Oblivion Crisis page, but if you know of any commonly accepted names, I'll use those instead. I'll also add future battles to the Tamriel/Battles page. Thanks again!GR Groe 04:08, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

RE:Seyda Neen[edit source]

Not a problem, it wasnt any effort to change them. - KAJ Talk 11:20, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

RE:Infoboxes[edit source]

Well, to the first, yes they we do need separate templates for categorization purposes. And because it is the most efficent way of dividing the pages. To the second, well we are an encyclopedia so yes basic things like a characters hair and eye color are needed, see Wookieoedia. Also things like health are gameplay mechanics and do not exist in-universe. And a persons skills are determined by their class which is already included. The key thing to remeber is that we are writting articles from the perspective of someone living in Tamriel, not someone playing the games. It's called real world perspective and its the way all the Major wiki's do things. Well, I hope that answears youre questions. - KAJ Talk 19:16, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Spotlight[edit source]

Hi Game Lord. The Elder Scrolls Wiki looks like you have a lot happening indeed and it's great to see! You have plenty of content, and a very comprehensive front page. You say that you are undergoing a major site re-do on your front page right now; I would love for you to finish that and then get back to us about the spotlight. I have a feeling it will work much better to have people see you the first time once it's done!

Meanwhile, I have a few other things that I think would need to be worked on, based on our spotlight criteria before we add you to the spotlight list, so you could add them to your re-do list:

1) It's good that your default skin is Monaco-sapphire. However you've been customizing menus and css for the other skins. Also, your logo is the monobook size. Could you create a Image:Wiki_wide.png (logo for Monaco, 266x75 pixels), customize the menus at MediaWiki:Monaco-sidebar, and generally make the monaco skin look like part of the site design? You can put any monobook.css customization into common.css (I think you are doing some of this already), and/or customize monaco.css as well if that helps.
2) You have over 150 uncategorized pages. And many of the pages I saw had redlinked categories. You're site-redesign link talks about revamping the categories, so I assume this might reflect that process.
3) Remember to keep welcoming new users. Your welcome message is great (have you ever thought about adding an image to it??), but I saw a couple of unwelcomed users in recent changes when I looked....

Good luck with the site re-do -- I look forward to seeing the results! -- Wendy (talk) 01:56, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Welcome message[edit source]

Well it comes down to profesionalism. This is what all the best wikis do like Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter. It shouldnt be annoying it's never been a problem on Wookiepedia and there the best, I intend to follow by example. - –K.A.JTCE 16:13, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Link suggest[edit source]

You can turn off the link suggest feature in preferences if you like. Angela (talk) 13:58, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Morrowiki[edit source]

Well it appears to a wiki for mods which we cant have here because its fan created content. I honestly cant see any imediate benefits from merging the two, other than removing a inactive wiki from the listings. - –K.A.JTCE 08:53, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Two things[edit source]

Well to the first it was for the visual reason. The main page is not supposed to be simple it's supposed to look good and requires no futher editing. As for the second the skin does not belong to UESP it belongs to Aristeo and I have his full permission to use it. - –K.A.JTCE 11:22, 26 June 2008 (UTC)

Greymarch[edit source]

In conjunction with the site's tree setup, I was wondering: should the Greymarch, the war from Shivering Isles, be classified under Tamriel or some other Battles page? Technically, it took place in Oblivion, and had little to do with Tamriel. Just a small concern. Thanks.GR Groe 02:36, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

No, I don't think it should go under Tamriel. Tamriel is on Nirn, the plains of Oblivion are in space. My idea is to create a new section under "provinces/areas" called Universe, or something like that. - Game LordTalk|Contribs 10:45, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

Trees Skins and Daedric headers[edit source]

Hi Gamelord, just got your note. Firstly I wanted to ask your opinion on our new monaco skin (if you've seen it). Secondly what do you think of the Daedric headers on the main page (sorry I didnt discuus with you first). Finally about the article categorization, yes I understand how it works and I agree it's a good idea. But what I'm slightly confused about is why should the categorization affect the names of the articles. The only other wiki I've seen do this is UESP, on all other wiki's categorization happens down at the bottom of the pages, just asking. - –K.A.JTCE 11:39, 2 July 2008 (UTC)

A message from George Skywalker[edit source]

Hey Game Lord. I see you are from UESPWiki. Let me make you a question. Have you heard the tale of Tiberius Stormrider? Well it's not heard by any user or admin but surely if you search up the archives you might find what happened. But if you don't know it ask me any time. George Skywalker 13:59, 19 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks[edit source]

Thanks for the welcome. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:02, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

George Skywalker has a request[edit source]

Well Game Lord as you saw at the title I have a request. I see the Black Hand are the ones that nominate articles that reached to FA status. But they also nominate users to become their members. Well can make me a candidate. Because you are the Listener I leave you to utter freedom of choices. Well its up to you. And whatever the result, a message won't be bad. George Skywalker 09:30, 6 August 2008 (UTC)

Jhjnju = Dagoth Ur, Mad God[edit source]

Warning, according to this, Jhjnju is Dagoth Ur, Mad God. Jhjnju appears to have administrative power on some wikis; DO NOT give him administrative rights. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 19:44, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Re I'm back[edit source]

Hi Game Lord, good to have you back. You may have noticed that myself and Gr Groe have started moving pages from the tree build back to their original titles. The reason for this is, although the tree build is a good idea and we are still using it, the categorization of pages happens at the bottom of pages, and should not affect the titles at all. There are no benefits from having the titles the same as the categories, and ultimately all it does is clutter the titles. So for now I'd be gratefull if you could make sure that all pages are at their proper titles and not move any more to the tree build. –K.A.JTCE 18:49, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

RE: Admin[edit source]

Thanks. I'll look after the place. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 13:38, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Removal of your rights[edit source]

Hi, I'm just leaving this message so you're not left in the dark. At the moment, we are considering removing your administrative rights. Sorry. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 15:48, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

Hey ... um ...[edit source]

Are you still around? If so, can you tell me what you think of some of the stuff I've been doing lately? (Cleaning up unused/duplicate categories, for instance). Thanks! Timeoin 16:41, March 21, 2011 (UTC)

P.s. I just looked at the number of edits you have made on this wiki. I kind of lol'd ;) Timeoin 12:29, April 17, 2011 (UTC)

Where are the NPC information pages located? I was looking for them for Skyrim but there seems to only be individual pages rather than any form of listing for the NPC's, and no mention of them on the "main menu" for Skyrim.
