Welcome[edit source]

Welcome to the wiki JPDurzel! Awesome job on the Morrowind quests. For a template of a perfect MW quest article, Ice Blade of the Monarch (Quest) is good to use.

Thanks, and I hope you continue to help out the wiki. —AutoBlood Talk 21:26, October 5, 2013 (UTC)

Your welcome. That's good to hear that you will contribute to the Morrowind section of the wiki. As you have most likely seen, the Morrowind articles are in a terrible state.
Anyway, happy editing! —AutoBlood Talk 21:53, October 5, 2013 (UTC)
Indeed! It is great to hear! A lot of those pages are ones that were made in a hurry, so that there was something there about them. I never had time to go back and fix them (and I barely get time to clear out the maintenance pages these days). Still - thanks again! (And sorry about making them a mess, too). My friend...[edit source]

You definitely gained my respect.

Quest pages[edit source]

Hi there. I saw some of your MW quest pages. A few pointers - for journal tables, we don't list the ID or titles, like "Deliver Cure Disease Potion – HR_Courier". The Journal title is fine. Also, i'm thinking its probably better to list the trivia before the journal? Jimeee (talk) 10:07, October 10, 2013 (UTC)

Awesome Job![edit source]

Awesome job on all the Morrowind quests. Keep up the editing! If only there were more users who have helped out as much as you have. —AutoBlood Talk 23:30, November 12, 2013 (UTC)

MW Guild[edit source]

With Gaminnomicon inactive, the Morrowind Guild needs new leadership. I ask you guys to take the time to decide who to fill this role with, or how to proceed in general. For the the guild has been marked as inactive and I hope to see active from this guild soon. I am leaving this message on the guild wall and I will message each of you personally as well. I hope all is well.Cheatcodechamp (talk) 05:50, August 31, 2015 (UTC)

Duplicate links[edit source]

Awesome work on the new Daggerfall quest pages! I just want to point out that when linking to other pages, only the first instance of the target subject needs to be linked. Cheers The Cat Master (talk) 21:13, August 18, 2017 (UTC)

You're Awesome, Part 2[edit source]

Hey again JPDurzel! You did great with the Daggerfall pages! I just wanted to run a quick question by you in case I ever need to find the information, where are you getting the stuff from the new articles from? Thanks mate, and cheers! You've done a really great job The_CrusaderTalkpage03:29:42 August 21, 2017_

Quest names[edit source]

Hi JPDurzel, good work with the Daggerfall content recently. In reference to this, I just want to point out that the UESP invented some/all of their quest names for Daggerfall or paraphrased them from the names given in The Daggerfall Chronicles (for the main quests, at least). Some of this was apparently done because UESP editors in ~2005 believed that using information from the Chronicles was considered copyright infringement (it is not; content from the text can be licensed under fair use). Generally, tertiary sources like wikis are not considered a reliable source because of things like this.

Anyway, if the Chronicles or another official publication reference the names of any other quests, we should definitely use those names over whatever ones the UESP et al. have chosen. If you can confirm that the quest names are not mentioned in any official sources whatsoever (the Chronicles, User's Guide, etc.), we may as well just stick with the UESP names so that readers who use both wikis are not confused. —Atvelonis (talk) 01:28, August 30, 2018 (UTC)

Ah, I didn't notice. That's a better solution than using the UESP's name since it's rooted in something official. Stick with that instead.
By the way, the wiki gets about a million pageviews every day. They're not spread evenly throughout all pages, but I can guarantee that quest walkthroughs usually get the most. So your work is not in vain! :) —Atvelonis (talk) 14:33, August 30, 2018 (UTC)
One other minor thing, I renamed "An Innocent Lich" so that the title would no longer have a question mark. It can technically have one (HTML entity code), but this sometimes messes with URLs in links, since Wikia uses the character as a marker for various actions, such as ?action=edit or ?action=history. —Atvelonis (talk) 03:09, September 3, 2018 (UTC)

Formatting[edit source]

Hi JP, great work with the Daggerfall quests as always. I have a couple very minor formatting requests for articles such as "A Hot Stone":

  • We typically use double quotes rather than single quotes to quote something in the body of an article.
  • The only time you should use {{Quote}} is at the top of an article or just under a header. If you want to emphasize a quote in the middle of a section, you should use a blockquote instead (<div class="blockquote"></div>).
  • You don't need to add bold formatting to the faction names in the tables near the bottom of the page. Bold is usually just reserved for the article lead.

Let me know if you have any questions, and happy editing! —Atvelonis (talk) 00:53, November 25, 2018 (UTC)
