Hello Louise 069/Archive 1, welcome to the Elder Scrolls Wiki! We're building a collaborative source of information for The Elder Scrolls, and we need your help!

We saw you making some changes to our articles and thank you for it. We hope you choose to further this project, and we hope to see you around in the future. If you choose to stay, here are some links to help you out:

I hope you enjoy editing here! If you have any questions, see the help pages or ask one of our administrators.

--Timeoin (talk) 04:52, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

When you create a page, you do not need to attach a link to that very page in the lead, since it serves no purpose and doesn't even show up as a link, anyway - just put the first word of the lead in bold, and that's all.  Also, always capitalise words like 'Khajiit' and 'Breton.'  Lastly, try to use the correct link for the games to which the rest of the article refers.  For examble, the Abuana page you recently created started with "Abuana is a khajiit," using both an invalid link and one that simply goes to the page for generic info about Khajiit rather than Khajiit (Online), which specifically refers to the race in TESO - Erik the Mad (talk) 07:18, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

Online PagesEdit

Hey Louise, great job on all the Online pages! I see Erik has already commented on changes to your edits but I also just want to say in addition to what he has said, that the pages should look like my recent edit on Abuana. The infobox parameters should be spaced just for neatness and to clean the page up a bit as well. As well as correctly categorizing each page.

Nice edits and I hope you continue. Thanks. —AutoBlood Talk 23:08, June 16, 2015 (UTC)

I don't know why it comes out like this. When I copy/paste the {{OnlineNPCs Template, it shows all spaced out and nice-looking but when I'm done editing, it becomes all clustered. Doing the copy/paste just makes my job easier is all. Thanks for the feedback as well. || Louise || 05:12, June 17, 2015 (UTC)
The spacing issue is probably caused by your use of Wikia's new VisualEditor, rather than Source Editor. While Visual can be helpful in some situations, it is extremely buggy (largely due to its young age), so I recommend switching your preferred editor to Source. This can be done by going to your Preferences, then the "Editing" section, and finally look under the "Editing experience" heading and change the tab titled "Preferred editor" from "Wikia's new Visual Editor" to "Source Editor," then scroll to the bottom of the page and hit "Save." Source mode gives you more options and is significantly more stable than Visual which is why it is preferrable.
Regarding your edits—excellent work! We are severely lacking in ESO content and your contributions have been a big help. There are a couple of relatively minor things you need to keep in mind when making pages in the future, in addition to what Erik and Auto advised: character categorization in ESO goes city > region > province. So, if you know what city the character is in, for example Wayrest, you do not need to add the region category (in this case Online: Stormhaven Characters), you only need to add the city category (in this case Online: Wayrest Characters). Also, the "Appearances" section should always be in the plural form, even if the character only appears in one game. Aside from those your articles seem to be in good shape, keep up the great work! —Atvelonis (talk) 06:01, June 17, 2015 (UTC)
I've been using source mode since the beginning and its still doing that. I don't know why its doing this. || Louise || 06:55, June 17, 2015 (UTC)
Hmm. Well, your contributions say you are using Visual Editor, although this could just be a bug with the system. Might be worth talking to Wikia support. —Atvelonis (talk) 01:43, June 18, 2015 (UTC)

Infobox formatting Edit

Hi Louise, when creating pages make sure to include the |image = parameter above |race = , and make sure that you add the parameters in the order they will appear when the article is published. So image, then race, then gender, then level, etc. Happy editing! —Atvelonis (talk) 20:10, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

Interactions Edit

Forgot to mention this earlier, also if a character is involved in any quests don't forget to add the quest under an Interactions section as well as in the infobox, with the name of the quest as the subheader. For example Alandis is involved in the quest "Pact Advocate," so you would do:

===[[Pact Advocate]]===

Editing Edit

Hey, We have not met yet, welcome to the wiki.

I am glad to see you have been as much help as you have to the wiki, to few are willing to help with ESO, even fewer have it. I have one editing suggestion and I will leave you to your work.

I have noticed that you create articles THEN add categories right after, while this works I would ask that you try to do this all in one edit. You can add categories when creating.

I am assuming that you are using the new visual editor, I believe that if you find this method not working for you, that you can go into Prefrences and make source editing your preferred method. This is a easier method for creating articles, as it also shows you code easier, and lines it up.

I hope I dont slow you down much with this message, and that I am not repeating things you know. Thanks for the help, and happy editing.-Cheatcodechamp (talk) 05:35, June 21, 2015 (UTC)

Hey thereEdit

Hey hey there Louise, First of all, I give you a Warm welcome and i hope you enjoy your time here :) Second of all, I would like to thanks you personnally for your completly awesome job in a so short amount of time.  The only thing i see, is that you dont have an userpage :P Feel free to add a user page, let us know about yourself ^^ And third of all, I would like to give you that:

Have a fishy stick!
Emperor Jarjarkine has awarded you a Fishy stick! For your great work on ESO.
you deserves it :P So, keep editing, just as you do,and more importantly, keep liking this wikia because, this wikia likes you ! ;)  Emperor Jarjarkine Aldmeri Dominion The Ragged Flagon - Cistern @fandom 02:26, June 22, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks friend, I figured since I had nothing to do at the moment, I could fill the gaps concerning the NPCs of ESO. Also, I'll have to decline your offer of the fishy stick, I know what you're going to tell me <<A canadian who doesn't like fish, what blasphemy!>>, but thanks anyway. || Louise || 02:34, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Effectivement hahaha :PEmperor Jarjarkine Aldmeri Dominion The Ragged Flagon - Cistern @fandom 03:05, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Bold text Edit

Hey Louise, looks like you're still linking the character's names to their own page rather than bolding in the pages you're creating. You should be using bold text (use three apostrophes ''' before and after what you want to bold) for that. Thanks. Happy editing! —Atvelonis (talk) 16:57, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

Also—the infoboxes seem to be perfectly spaced out now, good job. —Atvelonis (talk) 17:00, June 22, 2015 (UTC)

UESP images Edit

Hi Louise, please do not upload images from the UESP. This is against our policies and it is mandatory to take images yourself if they are to be uploaded here. Thank you. —Atvelonis (talk) 15:57, June 29, 2015 (UTC)

Congrats Edit

Congrats on getting on the Leaderboard! It's good to see you adding pages again. And change your profile picture too, I keep thinking you're an anon, heh. But good work in general. —Atvelonis (talk) 14:06, July 25, 2015 (UTC)

Regarding the pagename template Edit

Hey, please do not use the {{{PAGENAME}}} template when creating pages. The community decided a while back not to use this anymore. Thanks and have fun editing. Starkiller131 (talk) 19:11, July 28, 2015 (UTC)

Nice job Edit

Great work on all the ESO pages, and good to see you back ^_^ --Shockstorm (talk) 01:37, August 15, 2015 (UTC)

Top Ten Edit

Hey, I saw you bumped me down on the leader board and made your way into the top ten. Just wanted to say congrats and good work. I hope we continue to see more of you and that all is well.-Cheatcodechamp (talk) 03:18, August 20, 2015 (UTC)

|| Louise || 03:55, August 30, 2015 (UTC)
Congratulations Louise! You've become the wiki's Member of the Month for September! I can see that you're taking a break and that's fine, but your work here is greatly appreciated, and anytime you're free we'd love for you to come back for a while. Happy editing! —Atvelonis (talk) 15:02, September 1, 2015 (UTC)
Great job. We are glad to have you and are grateful for what you have done for the wiki. We want to award you with this fishy stick as thanks for a job well done.Cheatcodechamp (talk) 05:57, September 2, 2015 (UTC)
Have a fishy stick!
Cheatcodechamp has awarded you a Fishy stick! For his hard work on the ESO articles, and for his nomination as member of the month.

Checking in Edit

Hey, I was wondering if you'd like to return to this wiki - we could really use your help. We've been making good progress with the Online articles, and I'm sure people here would love to see you back. Regardless of what you choose to do, I want to thank you for all your hard work - you're one of the best contributors we've had at this wiki. --Shockstorm (talk) 20:16, November 5, 2015 (UTC)

UESP Content Edit

Hey Louise, first of all it's appreciated that you're adding new character pages. However, Ive noticed that you've plagiarized content from uesp by using the exact same sentences to describe the character. Because this isn't really allowed, please describe them in your own words. Thanks! -Kora Stormblade (talk) 20:14, December 24, 2016 (UTC)

My bad. I will try to come up with different sentences although sometimes there's not really any other ways to describe an NPC, as mundane as some are in ESO. || Louise || 20:25, December 24, 2016 (UTC)
Yea no problem. Also, I wanted to mention that Ive been fixing your pages mainly with the formatting, as your missing just a little bit of it. You can see what I changed in the edit history. Hope this helps, and thanks for all the articles you've been adding. - Kora Stormblade (talk) 21:10, December 24, 2016 (UTC)

Welcome backEdit

It's good to see you here again, Louise! I haven't had the time to go adding thousands of ESO pages lately, so it's quite relieving to see you active once again. Let me know if you have any questions or anything. —Atvelonis (talk) 22:11, December 24, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks! I don't know if I'll be here for long though, as I'm doing this for the time being since I don't have a lot going on right now. No offense to you guys, hehe. || Louise || 22:15, December 24, 2016 (UTC)
Well that's better than not being here at all - you do a great job with those articles, we're very grateful to have you. Feel free to help out anytime you can. —Atvelonis (talk) 01:52, December 25, 2016 (UTC)
I appreciate all the support as well. Most wikis I've been a part of have been less...supportive. I'm not begging to be loved and praised but even the smallest thanks goes a long way with me. || Louise || 01:58, December 25, 2016 (UTC)

Pages Missing DataEdit

Hey Louise,

Couldn't help but see that talkpage message you left on Atvelonis' talkpage. Unfortunately, we don't have a specific category for NPC articles with missing races. The only category we've got for that is Category:Pages Missing Data, which includes every form of missing data. Hope you understand, —CarloV3r (talk) 11:47, December 25, 2016 (UTC)

I almost forgot about this, but The Crusader of Truth has a half-finished list of ESO NPC pages that are missing race, gender, level, etc., so you can go ahead and use that if you'd like. It might be a little bit outdated, but it's better than nothing I suppose. —Atvelonis (talk) 14:45, December 25, 2016 (UTC)
Alright, well I suppose it's better than nothing. || Louise || 17:39, December 25, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood Characters Edit

I'll try to fix them now, thanks for letting me know. —Atvelonis (talk) 20:43, December 25, 2016 (UTC)

No problem. Probably best that I noticed it as I finished up the Altmer, hehe. || Louise || 20:45, December 25, 2016 (UTC)
Alright, I fixed them all up. I assume you've been keeping track of the DLC in the articles you've made since then. Great work overall, you're very efficient at making pages. —Atvelonis (talk) 00:51, December 26, 2016 (UTC)
I know there is a few I missed because I didn't know the proper templates at the time but I do now. And thanks again! I've never been thanked so much in so little time, lol. || Louise || 00:53, December 26, 2016 (UTC)

Stuff Edit

Hey Louise, I noticed that you had made a page called Speaks-With-Blades and another called Speaks-with-Blades. Since I don't own ESO, I tried researching for two separate characters but could only find one individual one, however I could very easily be wrong. Was this a minor mistake or are there actually two characters with names this similar if you know? - Kora Stormblade (talk) 05:01, December 26, 2016 (UTC)

UESP is my article of reference and on there, there are two article, one with a capital W and one with a lower-case w. And they are both distinct enough to not be bullshit, in my opinion. So I don't think it is a mistake. It happens a lot with Argonian names. || Louise || 05:05, December 26, 2016 (UTC)

Heyyy Frère BûcheronEdit

Dis donc LouisE !

|| Louise || 01:47, December 28, 2016 (UTC)

First of all, I remember you from all of those character pages you added last year, and I want to a thank you for all of the new ones you have been adding lately. I just want to offer a bit of advice: (1) Can you please add a "health" section to the infoboxes, below the level section, with a {{Missing|Online}} template, if you don't know that information. This is due to the fact that the player character's level may have been made irrelevant in a recent update. (2) When you add categories, can you please put the character's location category before their race and gender categories. Otherwise you have done a great job, and have been a HUGE help to this wiki in the last few days! Keep up the good work, and I hope you stick around this time.

Merci beaucoup! The Cat Master (talk) 07:44, December 28, 2016 (UTC)

I haven't been that up to date on ESO related updates and it shows I suppose, lol. As for the health thingy, will do. It just sucks since I was relieved to not have to deal with that "Pages missing data" business. And finally, relating to the categories, will do as well but can I know the reason behind it? To me, I think it just looks better and makes more sense since I put them in order according to the infobox. J'apprécie les remerciements aussi! || Louise || 07:48, December 28, 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for all your help :). Btw I don't think level is needed, since with One Tamriel update everything is scaled to level 160CP, so you can leave blank. Oh, and health for many characters is the same, like 31k (I forget exact number) --Ardore Forza (talk) 17:42, December 28, 2016 (UTC)

Have a Fishy StickEdit

Have a fishy stick!
The Cat Master has awarded you a Fishy stick! For all of the effort you have put into adding all of thoes ESO characters.
The Cat Master (talk) 09:33, December 30, 2016 (UTC)
Are meaty sticks on the menu? I mean, I appreciate it but I'm not really into seafood... || Louise || 17:14, December 30, 2016 (UTC)
Have a sweetroll!
The Cat Master has awarded you a Sweetroll!
See Fishy Stick :)

I understand, i'm not a seafood person myself. Will a sweetroll work instead. Either way, you are being rewarded for yor awesome work. The Cat Master (talk) 05:32, January 1, 2017 (UTC)
Ayyy! Now that's right up my alley. I better keep it sealed tightly, though. Sweetroll bandits are always up and about. || Louise || 05:40, January 1, 2017 (UTC)
Yeah, that's good idea. There are many people who want to steal your sweetroll. ;) keep up the good work. The Cat Master (talk) 05:44, January 1, 2017 (UTC)

ESO NPC occupations Edit

Wanted to clear up something quick about ESO NPCs - the "occupation" section of the infobox actually refers to what type of Merchant the NPC is, not if they're a soldier or something. You can see a list of merchant types on Merchants (Online). Thanks, and keep up the good work! —Atvelonis (talk) 08:30, January 1, 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, I know. I wasn't too sure about it so I was just going off according to pages I previously came across. I will only do so about specific merchants NPCs only in the future. || Louise || 08:33, January 1, 2017 (UTC)
Also, forgot to mention this earlier, but you don't have to add a region category if the location category is already there. So for example since Ryva has the Online: Bad Man's Hallows Characters category applied, the overarching Online: Glenumbra Characters category is not necessary. We only apply the region categories if there is no location category to add. —Atvelonis (talk) 09:11, January 1, 2017 (UTC)

Hey Louise,

There's no need to add the Online: Ashlanders category to articles where the Online: Mabrigash Tribe Members or Online: Kagesh Tribe Members is already used. Please stop adding them, or we'll have to fix it all. :P

Hope you understand,

Thanks, —CarloV3r (talk) 15:37, January 5, 2017 (UTC)

Well, not all Ashlanders are member of a certain tribe. For instance, there are two found at the Thizzrini Arena so I don't see the harm and grouping them in one categories out the tribes-related ones. || Louise || 15:39, January 5, 2017 (UTC)
Oh yeah sorry, forgot to add; If it's an ashlander of which the tribe is uncertain, you can add the Online: Ashlanders category. But like I said previously, if the character in question already has the Kagesh or Mabrigash category, there's no need to add the Online: Ashlanders category aswell.—CarloV3r (talk) 15:54, January 5, 2017 (UTC)

Je Vous Remercie!Edit

Merci encore, ABrokenDream (talk) 05:18, January 8, 2017 (UTC)ABrokenDream

And I thank you right back for the kind words! I really appreciate the support and the constructive criticism I've received on this wiki. It really is the most user-friendly I've been a part of so far. Most others I've contributed to were filled with condescending users and it made working there almost a chore. I will never stop saying this. Being supported in what you do just makes it more enjoyable. || Louise || 05:22, January 8, 2017 (UTC) EDIT: Also, there's no need to go out of your way to write to me in french if you're not the most well-versed in the language. I certainly appreciate it, but I don't want to create a hassle on others, hehe!
