My time- Edit

Feel free to contact me if you want help with anything, although remember I'm not part of the staff team and cannot deal with any matters related to them. (Not that you would assume that anyway.)

Welcome, ParanormalAndroid!

Hi ParanormalAndroid, welcome to the Elder Scrolls Wiki! We're building a collaborative source of information for the Elder Scrolls lore, and we need your help. We saw you making some changes to our articles, and thank you for it. Hope you choose to further this project, and that we'll see you around in the future. If you choose to stay, here are some links to help you out:

Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Elderscrollian! If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the Forum, or ask one for our administrators or mentors.

Hey there! Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Wiki! I saw your username in the recent changes and had to ask if you were a Radiohead fan? They're one of my favorite bands! At any rate, please be aware that I have changed part of the edit you made to Aerin (Morrowind). Here, at the TESWiki, we do not consider "Notes" to be a meaningful header, despite how it is used on other wikis. If you want to learn more about that, see our styling guideline. Thanks and happy editing! --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 20:30, June 25, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, I got it from Radiohead and the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. ParanormalAndroid

Re: Expanded Edit

No apologies necessary!

And you picked the wrong person to ask, because I talk too much. (._. )

I'll give you more specifics about that edit first, since my summary was pretty lame:

  • Template usage: You should mark all bugs with what platform(s) they occur on using the templates (marked by {{ }} double brackets). Most bugs aren't marked this way, but they should be.
  • Unnecessary linking: Other articles should only be linked to once per page, the first time they show up.
  • Speculation: You don't need to guess at why a bug occurs in the article. It's supposed to be like an encyclopedia, so only definite facts (what you observed) should be listed. Use the Talk page for that article to discuss the cause, unless you can find and prove it.

As for general tips:

  • Most of what I know comes from seeing something in a page and using Source view in the Edit window to see how it's formatted. If you haven't used this before, you can try doing it on your Usertalk page here if you want to see how I formatted anything.
  • The other thing is I look at other people's edits to things I do. I'm pretty lazy with edit summaries, but sometimes people will leave pretty helpful summaries saying "don't do it this way, the policy is to do it that way." Expect to have your edits "improved" a few times before you get the hang of how things should look.
  • Actually, the reason I noticed your contribution so fast is because I set my preferences to follow every page I alter. I use this to review updates and see how other people have improved my changes. That taught me everything I used to update your edit. But this, probably, is exactly what you did, so that's the right track ;D

And here are some other pages that I use to answer general questions.

  1. Help:Editing, which you can find by clicking the "Need help editing?" link that shows up right under your username in the top right when editing a page. This page has lots of general info. It also tells you how to format a lot of things, but it's way too much information and I never read that part (^ ^;) I've just memorized the ones I use a lot, like DG (typed {{DG}} ) for Dawnguard-specific things,  PS3   (typed {{PS3}} ) or  PC   360   PS3   ( {{ALLPLAT}} ) to mark bugs, and <nowiki> and </nowiki> to type things without the site formatting them, since * and : and other symbols have special functions depending on how you use them. The buttons at the top of the edit window can insert some of these things for you.
  2. The style and formatting guideline (there's a link to it on Help:Editing). Tells you what to name article headers, what order they go in, what information should and shouldn't go there, as well as info specific to each type of article and each game. Again, tons of info, so I just use it when I want to know something specific.
  3. The Sandbox (also linked on Help:Editing). This is an empty page where you can write whatever you want to practice formatting or test something when you're not sure how to do it.

If you have any more specific questions, I can try to answer those. I've got plenty of time, but I'm not an expert (- -;). The important thing is it's all a collaborative effort, so just contribute what you can, let other people fix any mistakes you make, and pick up tricks as you go!

Anyway, welcome to the wiki!--LeDaea (talk) 17:44, May 11, 2013 (UTC)

Indeed. My avatar used to be the girl from "Saya no Uta," so I went with that. I'm not active on forums so I didn't figure people would be looking at my profile much anyway (<.<)--LeDaea (talk) 12:30, May 12, 2013 (UTC)
That seems to be the idea. I haven't actually played it, I found the pic while searching for a different "Saya" (I used Diva from Blood+ before that), liked it, and investigated where it was from. Her background was hilariously unexpected so I stuck the Lovecraftian thing on there.--LeDaea (talk) 16:44, May 12, 2013 (UTC)

=re:I think I know youEdit

Not the same person, sorry. My last name is Petteys, not Petty. Although it is always misspelled as such. Sorry for not responding right away. I'm mostly inactive on the wiki nowadays. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 01:16, May 21, 2013 (UTC)

Our characters are badasses. XD StormKhajiit (talk) 23:35, June 13, 2013 (UTC)

Re:Badasses? Definitely. Edit

Hell yeah! >:D

Khaly got shot by a poisoned arrow by a Tong assassin in the Flagon, it killed her in less than an hour.

Speaker? Nah, I don't think H'eria will be chosen to be Speaker. StormKhajiit (talk) 17:58, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

Sounds awesome! I'll definitely join. StormKhajiit (talk) 18:06, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

Fail, that was from me. StormKhajiit (talk) 22:05, June 14, 2013 (UTC)

The TGRP is back, and Thalmor Assassin has tasked us with getting more people responding. Interested?

Banned from chatEdit

You were banned from chat for 2 hours for join/leave flooding. I gave it 2 hours because I am assuming it was just a connection fault. Kris the Divine Viking Summon me? | Accomplishments 12:52, September 28, 2014 (UTC)

(To whom it may concern: WiFi was cutting in and out, absentmindedly left chat open on a tab on my Kindle- honest mistake~ Paranormal.)

Okay, so now I ended your ban, as it got fixed. You're free to join. Kris the Divine Viking Summon me? | Accomplishments 13:08, September 28, 2014 (UTC)

Heads up Edit

Thanks for the heads up. If you need any help drop on by and leave me a message. Zu'u lost daal. Alduin1996 (talk) 20:10, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Sotha SilEdit

Hey PA, yes I've seen you edit the page. We'll have a look at it. :) EbonySkyrim Message! 18:29, October 19, 2014 (UTC)

Yw, I was actually looking at it at the same time as you.. so that's why I was fast in deleting it. :) EbonySkyrim Message! 18:34, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
You know you can add the { delete } (2 brackets on each side) template on it, then it's added to the delete candidate page. EbonySkyrim Message! 18:37, October 19, 2014 (UTC)
Hi, we'we looked at the page and it's fine but it needs to be sourced. That's important. When adding info one has to add the source to verify where it comes from. So if you can do this, that will be great. EbonySkyrim Message! 19:47, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
Ok, it's marked for being unsourced ;). All the unreferenced information needs to be sourced, or it doesn't belong on the page. If you can find it that is great, otherwise I suggest you move it to the talkpage until someone can find a source. EbonySkyrim Message! 20:14, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

The new TGRP is found here, if you're still interested.

Re: Quick QuestionEdit

I'm not sure when Tim will see this message so I thought I'll give my opinion about it. Although it's fine to get rid of the red links but in my opinion I wouldn't do that unless I knew what it was all about. It's mostly quest articles and if you don't even play ESO I would leave them instead of creating pages with just an empty template on them. But that's my opinion. EbonySkyrim Message! 22:51, December 8, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd have to agree with Ebony as well. Creating nothing but a bunch of placeholder pages with no content isn't really helpful to the wiki. Create an article when you intend on actually adding something to the page, even at least the list of quest objectives (Y) --SuperSajuuk Talk Page | Tabber Code | My Contribs | Channel 22:57, December 8, 2014 (UTC)
