Greetings, Patriarchal. Congratulations on becoming bureaucrat of the TESFanon wiki. The administration of TESWiki has discussed in the past, becoming partners with the TESFanon wiki. Recently, however, we discovered that the previous admins of that wiki were plotting to exploit our audience, in order to promote the TESFanon wiki and wrangle in more editors. We saw this as underhanded and delayed any possibility of forging a partnership. As it stands, this is the current position of the staff of this wiki. It may be subject to change. We can convene a moot and discuss the matter in the near future. Most of the admins are available around the clock on the IRC channel. Their opinion in this matter is greatly respected; my opinion will not make the final decision. Good luck with your wiki. I hope to speak with you again in the future about this. Talos guide you. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 22:52, August 1, 2012 (UTC)
- My nick is "Deyvid" - same as my username. I'm currently online. You'll need to find a time when the other admins are online as well, since their you will need their opinions before any further action is taken. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 01:17, August 2, 2012 (UTC)
RE:Article creation and fanon[edit source]
Please be aware that the article you recently created, "Torradan Ap Dugal", has been deleted. On TESWiki, we strive to only cover canonical locations, people, items etc, so please do not post fanfiction here. That is what the TESFanon wiki is for, as you know, since you administrate it. Again, we do not allow the posting of fanfiction here; it is strictly prohibited. Posting anymore fanfiction may be construed as vandalism and failure to adhere to our policy, causing administrative action to be taken against. I am sorry that this escalated to this, but I must give you this official warning. Talos guide you, friend. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 04:11, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
- The conclusion was not "unwarranted" as you put it. The article was unsourced, and orphan, and a simple search on this wiki, UESP.net, and the Imperial Library initially turned up nothing, so the logical conclusion was that it was fanon. Especially since I was aware that you came form a wiki dedicated to fanon. I apologize for making an incorrect analysis, but I do not feel unjustified for making it. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 04:40, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
I would be happy to look at the template for you. Could you specify which one you were having trouble with? There are at least a dozen location-related templates on the wiki. Please be aware that each game has a specific template for locations, and lore articles also use a different set. See SF:LOCAT#Templates for a nearly complete list. Thanks! --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 02:18, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, okay. The template for lore articles. We really need to update these old templates. They're so clunky, and they no longer match our manual of style. Either way, you were having trouble with the |location= parameter not displaying? I believe I resolved the issue. It appears that parameter and the climate parameter were not functioning properly. Hope it works for you now. If not, please let me know exactly what is not working, and I'll try to fix it up right away. --—Deyvid Petteys (bother \ stalk) 02:25, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
