Is it still possible to get the rank of staff? or are all posistions taken?

Re: QuizEdit

Hi Raylan, I think having an Elder Scrolls quiz would be a nice change for our front page and give users something fun to partake in. So, sure I'll make the change once the quiz has been created. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 18:50, February 21, 2014 (UTC)

Something like The Elder Scrolls Quiz or The Elder Scrolls: Know Your Meme Quiz? Sorry, not so creative when coming up with the title. Heh. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 22:29, February 21, 2014 (UTC)

Game Guide AppEdit

Hi Raylan,

Sure, I'll add it to the main page. Where can I find it? Is it a code? Thanks. :) —TombRaiser SPEAK! 23:30, March 10, 2014 (UTC)

Ok. It's added now. :) —TombRaiser SPEAK! 00:10, March 11, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Instant ExpertEdit

Hi Raylan, I'm not sure I can be of any help or advice. I haven't participated in the Beta of ESO and I still haven't made up my mind if I'm going to get it at all.. I've never played a multiplayer game so far. If you still think I can be of any use despite this let me know. —EbonySkyrim Message! 22:45, March 25, 2014 (UTC)

I'll just hijack this section ;) Unfortunately, I feel like I will be able to contribute much (if anything at all) since I have been inactive on the wiki for the past few months, and I haven't been really keeping up with TESO news either. Sorry. I hope you do find someone who feels comfortable with TESO, though! Kroq-gar78 (talk) 01:07, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

You may send me the list. I've spent some time in the beta, but I think I won't be able to play the actual game in the near future. TombRaiser is probably the best source for the interview, although I am willing to participate as well. — Flightmare (talk) 16:38, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Essentials and QuizEdit

Hi Raylan,

Sure you can send me the questions, and I'll see what I can answer. I played ESO during the beta, but never got to PvP.

The "What Elder Scrolls Online Class Are You" quiz sounds like a good idea, and having a more questions this time, too. I'm not sure what to suggest though, as I've stuck with one class throughout all the characters I played. Since you plan to make it on an article, I think we would be able to add that to our slider on the main page, too.

The sweepstakes also sounds good. I'm sure there are many people that would be glad to have one-year subscription to ESO. What kind of video would it be? Player made video of their gameplay in ESO? Videos of intense battles would be something I'd be interested in seeing and even participating in, if I ever get that good at PvP. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 20:31, March 26, 2014 (UTC)

Re: Essentials/Beginner's GuideEdit

I haven't really put much thought into a beginner's guide, as the main The Elder Scrolls Online page is going to contain all the necessary information covered in the game, as that acts as a guide for the game. It will eventually be fleshed out to resemble The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim page, with more content of course. There's still a lot missing, being that ESO was just released worldwide today, so we're trying to get all content created and organized.

As for the Essentials blog, I see that it is up already and just needs the image for the slider. Just let me know what image you had in mind and I'll fix it up on the front page and all. And to the rest, I see no problems with linking it to the ESO portal and some PvP videos for the pages. —TombRaiser SPEAK! 00:08, April 5, 2014 (UTC)

Gaming FootersEdit

Hey Raylan - I think it's a great idea - but, because we're a community, I've opened it up for discussion with the community as a whole. You can see it - here. TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 00:29, September 25, 2015 (UTC)

I should point out - at no point did I think it wouldn't be supported by the community - but its always best to get the community involved in decisions :) TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 01:29, September 26, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Giveaway Edit

Oh yeah, heard about that last week. (I can post the link on Discussions and the wiki's Facebook page to help spread the word.) Pretty cool of Bethesda to be hosting this! —Atvelonis (talk) 00:20, November 18, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Legends Edit

I'll be honest, we certainly do need help with Legends content. Most of what we have so far was added by one guy, Yumyum36, but he seems to be focusing his attention elsewhere at the moment. Not too many of us actually have access to the game, so if you'd like to help out, that'd be pretty awesome! —Atvelonis (talk) 01:24, March 29, 2017 (UTC)

Great to hear! Let me know if there's anything you need. —Atvelonis (talk) 21:17, March 29, 2017 (UTC)

LegendsEdit

Hi Raylan,

Awesome to see you're helping us with our Legends content, we definitely need it. On another note, if you're creating a new card article, you can leave out the "Notes" and "Artist" headers if you don't have the necessary information for it. The top priorities are the acquisition and strategy of the card. I also saw you added the {{Refs}} template to the articles you created. That template is only necessary if you've made any references in your article, as in: <ref>Reference here</ref>. The {{Refs}} will display those references at the bottom of the article, underneath a "References" header. Thanks!—CarloV3r (talk) 06:31, April 14, 2017 (UTC)

CategorisingEdit

Hi Raylan,

Thanks for taking the time to upload all those Legends images, really appreciate it. I'd like to ask you, though, if you wouldn't mind categorising them under Category:Legends: Card Images. You can do so by either putting the following code in the upload summary when uploading the image:

{{Information
|attention =
|description = ''Legends'' card
|source         = {{Legends}}
|author =
|filespecs = Cropped to <image size>
|licensing = This image is from "The Elder Scrolls" series of games and qualifies as fair use.
|other versions =
|cat artist =
|cat licensee =
|cat subject =
|cat type =
}}{{clr}}
{{LegendsCardImages}}

Or adding the category to the image after uploading. Thanks!—CarloV3r (talk) 16:39, April 19, 2017 (UTC)

Old card versions Edit

Question for you: think it's worth it to keep the old versions of the cards on articles? Take Dres Renegade, for example: we have a higher-res updated image, and a lower-res outdated one which we've kept for historical purposes. We also have the card art (which is something I'd ideally like to have for every card at some point), but that's a different story.

I'm thinking about getting rid of all the old ones since the current ones are kinda lame and we'll never get high-res versions, but maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Since you're the only one who's adding any reasonable amount of Legends content right now, I figure you might be able to offer some insight. Thanks! —Atvelonis (talk) 22:19, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

That's reasonable, thanks for the reply. —Atvelonis (talk) 23:54, May 10, 2017 (UTC)

Re: TES V: Skyrim for Switch Edit

Thanks for the message. Typically, we've only sometimes done that (depending on how different the game is from the original), but I think it wouldn't hurt to have pages on all of the editions for Skyrim and the other games just for consistency's sake. I'll get on that at some point. —Atvelonis (talk) 20:08, June 13, 2017 (UTC)

Legends neutral category Edit

Hello, I want to know which category is better for the neutral cards: Legends: Neutral Cards or Legends: Neutrals? --Rupuzioks (talk) 18:23, June 27, 2017 (UTC)

Re:LicensingEdit

Sorry. I didn't see your original note. However, if you want to try to change how we format it (that's on all of our templates for images, not just the Legends card) you should bring this up with the community admin instead of just doing it yourself. As it is, we've simply ignored the dropdown because when we manually add it in with the template, it also allows us to put the correct categories we want. Since the note that you left doesn't really match the standard that the wiki follows right now, I'm going to remove the licencing header that isn't already added by the template. If you want to change it, bring it up with Carlo or Atvelonis.

If you still want to use the page as an example, here's some screenshots, so that you don't need to find another page. http://prntscr.com/fs1tui http://prntscr.com/fs1uko The_CrusaderTalkpage06:48:42 July 05, 2017_

Monthly cardsEdit

Hi Raylan,

Please use the "Legends: Monthly Cards" category instead of "Legends: Monthly cards." Likewise, I renamed your "Monthly card" article to "Monthly Card," per our style and formatting policies. Thanks!—CarloV3r (talk) 18:23, August 30, 2017 (UTC)

Upload/Licencing noteEdit

Hello Raylan. I wanted to stop by and let you know that when you upload legends images all you need is the {{LegendsCardImages}}. The ==Licencing== is added by the template already, along with the categories, so you don't need to add the header in the upload summary. An example of what I mean can be seen here. Thanks. The Crusader of Truth (talkchat) 19:13, August 30, 2017 (UTC)

Just simply type {{LegendsCardImages}} in the summary. There's no need to use the dropdown. I'm assuming you knew that it was going to cause the problem, since even after I told you about it, you uploaded it the same way anyway. Please upload the images correctly, or at least correct them once you upload them. As a staff member, I have extremely high expectations that you know better. The Crusader of Truth (talkchat) 22:46, August 30, 2017 (UTC)
Hello again, Raylan. I hope you're having a nice day. I would like to inform you I'm not replying to you after this message, as these talkpage messages with you are not getting anywhere. If you want to reply back, that's your choice. As I've told you previously, if you want to change the formatting, please contact an admin. I'm not an admin, as you seem to believe from your previous statement on my talkpage. Second, since you said I would know the purpose, I actually do; it is just not in my power to change Mediawiki pages, hence why I said in my original message to contact an admin. But as it is, the images still need to be formatted correctly. I don't care what dropdown debate you have, nor do I really want to. I already know how to use dropdown, and it does not go with the style that the wiki uses for most uploads. I've already informed you that the community does it by hand, and just adds the template, and, going right back to the same starting point, if you want that to change you should contact an admin. The uploadtext Mediawiki page hasn't had any major work done to it in years, and does not reflect current standards. It's not a debate of policy, it's a debate of what currently works until somebody goes and fixes it. Right now, you're the only user having a problem with this system that I've seen, which is why it hasn't been changed.
However, one problem I do want to discuss with you is your editing etiquette. I'm perfectly fine with users that make mistakes, but in regards to your last image upload, and leaving the second licencing header after being informed of the problem, I believe you left it just out of spite, and that is something this community does not need. In the future, you should always try to correct your mistakes, no matter what. The debate about licensing isn't the debate that we need to be having if you believe that is it proper to leave a mistake, knowing it's there, just out of spite, and that is definitely something beyond the maturity I'd expect a staff member to do. I have extremely high expectations for you as a staff member, as you should be representing your company, as it is many users here do not hold "FANDOM" in a very high regard, and doing something like this does not exactly make for a very professional argument. While I appreciate you uploading images, if you do not want to do the task correctly, what's the point of doing the task in the first place?
Relating to your salty remark about {{Bethimage}}, you are not correct. As a reference, I'm going to paste your comment: "Additionally, the Template:Bethimage doesn't have the Licensing header, which is also in the drop-down menu. I suppose, instead of adding the correct licensing to the drop-down menu for ease of use, I should have used that template instead." For starters, instead of trying to use passive-aggressive hostility, you should be more formal as a staff member, again, because you're making your company look bad. As for regarding the statement itself, we are (and have) formatting out using {{Bethimage}} itself on pages, where it can be helped. The reason Bethimage doesn't have a header is because it's the original licencing template, and all of our category-based templates ({{LegendsCardImages}} for example) use Bethimage in their template. The reason we can't just go fly on changing them is on the pages Bethimage is originally at, they already have the header already existing on the page itself. To remove it is a bot task, and right now, we need our resources elsewhere, not changing around the entire system we have already in place for images.
In the future, please correct any images you upload, if you insist on uploading them using the dropdown, because no matter what belief you have about the uploads, they need to be formatted correctly. A lot of users here spend time editing, and I don't know about them, but I definitely do not appreciate a user leaving a mistake just out of spite, because they couldn't get the change they wanted, and as a staff member, you should be representing your company in a good manner, not purposely formatting pages wrong. As I have said before, if you want to request a change, bring it up with the admin. I'm honestly very sure they would make the change in due time. It's not a bad idea. It's actually a very good idea (although you believe I don't know what you're talking about, so what's my opinion,) and formatted properly, would be a good change for the wiki. However, you simply tried to make the original changes yourself, while what you should have done is contact an admin, and let them decide the best course of action for the community. As I said before, please correct any images you upload, if you insist on uploading them using the dropdown. As I have also said previously, I'm probably not responding to any messages you send back as we've covered these same few points before. Have a good day. The Crusader of Truth (talkchat) 17:15, August 31, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Legends updates Edit

Hi Raylan, sorry for the delay! Honestly, I think this licensing thing is an extremely minor issue that has been way overblown. I'd request that you not leave just because of something like this: I think the content you've added really outweighs any minor formatting argument about a heading, of all things. The only other Legends contributor we have disappeared in December, and I don't think the rest of the staff here can focus on the game in addition to their existing projects. I certainly can't. This is a fixable issue, not something to worry about very much.

Typically, we've had the ==Licensing== header included in the image licensing template, like {{LegendsCardImages}} or whatever, simply because a lot of people have found it easier that way (everything in one template). However, the upload form does say that you can use that or use the dropdown tab. The page isn't very clear, especially because most of the "all-in-one" licensing templates aren't even listed on there. I've been meaning to redo that page for a while now, but I haven't gotten around to it.

For the time being, I'd be very grateful if you kept adding Legends content. This licensing thing isn't really as problematic as it sounds. I can bring it up in a consensus at some point and we'll figure out the best way to format everything. —Atvelonis (talk) 17:56, September 1, 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. We're kinda short on staff right now (especially patrollers), so for the time being it would probably be easiest for us if you did it manually. I actually have a copy+paste template for Legends cards here, if you want to use that. In these situations I tend to upload everything in Special:MultipleUpload first, then create the pages and add the images: an assembly line approach, in a sense. I've personally found it more efficient than the upload-article-upload-article pattern I used to do. —Atvelonis (talk) 03:00, September 6, 2017 (UTC)

For template Edit

Hey Raylan. Thanks for all your contributions for The Elder Scrolls: Legends. I just wanna point some things out. You need to add the For template to articles such as this page. In this case it links to the disambiguation. Oh and also, when you add the template make sure it's on a separate line below the infobox. Thanks, and happy editing. Starkiller131 (talk) 18:46, September 27, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Legends finale Edit

Very impressive, great job! I think there's a pretty good chance they'll be adding more expansions to the game eventually, so I'll let you know if we need any extra help (we probably will, haha). Thanks again for your edits; they've been tremendously useful! —Atvelonis (talk) 02:13, September 28, 2017 (UTC)

Re: March of Sacrifices, Moon Hunter Keep Edit

Hey Raylan, thanks for the message. We definitely need full pages for those dungeons. We're a little short on manpower in regards to ESO; it's already harder to document than the main series games, and due to the sheer number of DLCs (and the high price of each one), many editors simply don't bother with updating add-on content like this.

So if you want to write up articles for Wolfhunter, feel free! It would be greatly appreciated. Since it's a smaller "dungeon" DLC it would use the base game's templates (e.g. {{OnlineLocations}}) except for in the appearances section, where {{Wolfhunter}} would be used instead of {{Online}}. Otherwise it should be formatted like any other dungeon page. —Atvelonis (talk) 19:56, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

Great to hear! You can add as much ESO content as you like, honestly. Any contributions you make will be wonderful, I'm sure. —Atvelonis (talk) 20:43, August 15, 2018 (UTC)

Legends cards Edit

Hey Raylan, I have a request for you if you have the time. So recently development of The Elder Scrolls: Legends has been transferred over from Dire Wolf Digital to Sparkypants Studios, and the new devs decided that they wanted to totally revamp the visual appearance of the game. This includes new card borders, which means we'll have to retake all the card images from the game that we've uploaded already. We're also going to be preserving the old card borders, though, so any future Legends card images should be new uploads, not reuploads of existing files.

Rozty and I have renamed all the existing files in Category:Legends: Card Images from the Dire Wolf Digital version of the game and have moved said images to galleries on their articles. We have intentionally not fixed any links on other pages so that you can simply use Category:Pages with broken file links or Special:WantedFiles as a way to track down which images need new versions (this is more efficient than the alternative).

I'm sure you're busy, but it would be really fantastic if you could help out here a bit, since there are something like 900 cards in the game. If you'd like to help out, please start by uploading your own in-game images for everything appearing on the maintenance pages I linked above, and once that's finished, move onto Category:Legends: Image Needed for any remaining uploads. This is going to take a lot of work, but between you, Rupuzioks, DreamSoulshine, and other editors, I think it will be possible to finish relatively quickly. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! —Atvelonis (talk) 15:40, October 7, 2018 (UTC)

Regarding the uploading of new card images, it turns out that Hiking Emeric has been more than kind enough and already prepared everything we need, giving us permission to use the files here on top of that. You can find a download link here, and start uploading them whenever you have the time. Don't forget to credit Hiking Emeric as well, leaving a link to the Youtube channel in the author field of the image licensing. This will definitely save you, as well as Rupuzioks and DreamSoulshine, loads of time in image editing. Thanks! —Rozty (talk) 19:21, October 8, 2018 (UTC)
Wow, this is really something—yeah, I would definitely make use of the images in that file! It's very generous of him to have shared all of that with us. —Atvelonis (talk) 21:54, October 8, 2018 (UTC)
You're incredible, Raylan, I can't thank you enough! I'll try to get those redlinks sorted out asap. Thanks again, I really appreciate the help. —Atvelonis (talk) 18:50, October 25, 2018 (UTC)
