Re: Daggerfall Pages Edit

No problem at all. Thanks for adding the Daggerfall content in the first place—you're doing a very good job! —Atvelonis (talk) 00:42, November 20, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Elder Scrolls wiki vs. USEP Edit

The UESP is a wiki, just like us, and as such is equally subject to misinformation—it's certainly a useful resource but as with anything of that nature it's of course a good idea to double check this kind of thing in-game. Whatever the actual quest name that you see when you're playing Daggerfall is what you should use. This might take a long time of course... but also the quests might be listed either in The Daggerfall Chronicles or The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall User's Guide, both of which come with Daggerfall for free on GOG. There are bound to be some quests in there.

So ideally you would check in-game for the quest names and in supporting texts that come with it (or figure out if it's in the files somewhere, if that's possible?). I'd do it myself but I'm rather occupied with the wiki as it is. —Atvelonis (talk) 03:07, November 25, 2015 (UTC)

Daggerfall locations Edit

Also, I forgot to mention this earlier, but we have a little setup for the locations in Daggerfall cities. One of our former patrollers Fire Wolf Pup wrote a lot of pages like this and it's what we've adopted as the standard. Some good examples of what I mean are Arkway, Baelwark Commons, and Warbrugh (though there are many more!). Basically it's structured in a way that organizes each location by type—you did it almost perfectly on Whitewood Borough for example; it just needs the relevant subheadings. Thanks. Have fun editing! —Atvelonis (talk) 02:24, November 26, 2015 (UTC)

Re: page deletions Edit

I've deleted them now. If there are any others just let me know. —Atvelonis (talk) 19:30, December 19, 2015 (UTC)

Re: Daggerfall Images Edit

It would be more efficient to just use one image for all characters who have the same sprite. We do that already for some books, but there hasn't been much need to do it elsewhere up until now. Also, it might be a good idea to record static characters on a Characters (Daggerfall) page as a kind of project hub. Somewhere to put everything in a bunch of organized lists. —Atvelonis (talk) 02:33, January 16, 2016 (UTC)

Invitation to Team DaggerfallEdit

Hello, The Boy Who Cried Godzilla! I hope you are well.

I have noticed that you have been editing Daggerfall pages for a long time now - what appears to be since (or before) November 13th, 2015. As such, I wanted to invite you into Team Daggerfall! While the teams on the wiki are, well, kind of silly as of right now, I'm trying to embark on rebuilding the team system so that it had meaning, and that they are fully functional. As such, I need to add users to the Team that are working with Daggerfall pages - which is exactly what you're doing.

While it is not a necessity to join any Team, I would love having a new user join up! However, if you are joining, there are a few things that I would like you to do:

  • Add the Team Daggerfall Userbox to your profile (Optional, but it helps unite us as a team)
  • Have a list of projects that you are working on
    • You can just follow the list on the guild page, however, I would prefer if you expand it to include your own section.
  • Be active on the wiki - While many of the users in the Team are inactive, it is prefered that every user stays active. Being "active" doesn't necessarily mean you're on the wiki every second you can get, just maybe adding a bit of information one day, then maybe a bit more a few days later.

I'm greatly interested in hearing your responce, and thank you for your time! The_CrusaderTalkpage03:50:53_January 18, 2016

Glad to hear you'll join! Your name should be on the list now. And, it's all good about not being that good with sourcing -- To be honest, I'm not the best with it myself, just as long as we know when we should source (and that someone can source it) it should be good. Thanks for joining up! The_CrusaderTalkpage06:00:38_January 18, 2016

Re:That might not be a good ideaEdit

Thanks for the input!

Aye, I know it's not the brightest idea in the world. The list should end up containing "the more important people", not everyone in the game. The list that I just did was every NPC that we already have recorded, then I'm hoping to go a bit from there. As for the quests, I guess it should go kind of in the same direction: Only do the more important quests (aka, the main questline), as well as include all of the quests for various guilds. As for training NPCs, I haven't even found one ingame...I guess that's kind of bad though.

And, since I'm on the subject of lists and pages, we should be working around to adding the Daggerfall info to books, as well as adding the items (Our items pages for Daggerfall are horrible, even compared to the rest of our information). For now though, I'm still trying to list all of the locations.

Oh, and static NPCs are the ones who do not walk around everyday, and are random, right? I want to make sure I didn't mix them up :P The_CrusaderTalkpage08:53:22_January 20, 2016

Re: Image deletions Edit

Alright, done. Let me know if there's anything else. —Atvelonis (talk) 05:12, January 25, 2016 (UTC)

Done. Thanks for letting me know. —Atvelonis (talk) 00:25, February 7, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Quest ConfusionEdit

Hey Godzilla. Sorry I took so long to respond, I completely forgot you messaged me. I'm sorry about that:

I myself am very bad at recording quests and whatnot on any games, be it Daggerfall, ESO etc. If you feel that the quest name is The Bodyguard then I'm going to take you on your word for it. I've gone ahead and renamed the page for you. And, as a little side question, what kind of list are you using? It's just me being nozy, sorry :P

And, as a little side remark, sorry that I haven't been nearly as active with the Daggerfall pages recently. I've only one computer now, so recording information has gotten a lot harder for me.

Thanks, and apologies on the late reply once again. The_CrusaderTalkpage05:03:16_March 06, 2016

Weapons page namesEdit

Hi, I'm Ned :D.

Well, this is unfortunately not a message of praise. I'm glad you're creating the Daggerfall weapons pages, but please, check the games they're in before you create them. These pages include Elven Wakazashi and others.

We only do the "(Daggerfall)" after the name if there are pages about it from multiple games. If it doesn't exist in other games, and/or they aren't supposed to have pages. Otherwise, it's confusing and odd. I've warned you multiple times when I renamed your pages, but it doesn't seem to me that you've caught on yet. It's ok, no worries :P; you're new. You did nothing actually wrong. With that in mind, please name the pages appropriately according to this. Then it'll be pitch perfect ;). Thanks mate!

-Ned Tp- Contribs 19:11, March 28, 2016 (UTC)

Alright, thank you for acknowledging, I'm glad. I think that, when the Arena pages exist (If they ever do), then we can change it then. It isn't actually that much work, no worries. Well, happy editing :D!

Re: Checking up on Nulfaga...and othersEdit

Hello The Boy Who Cried Godzilla (Little off topic but is there a shorter nickname you have?)

You're perfectly fine with having difficulty on that infobox. It has to be one of the..weirder infoboxes we have on the wiki. For future references, try using something like this: "[[File:Filename.png|250px|center]]." Using that should fix the issue. As a quick little side note try uploading images with the file type in lower case letters, and not uppercase letters. It doesn't do any difference with the image, it's just how the wiki formats image names.

Second on the list, those three NPCs. All three of them were clearly just non-static NPCs, as you said, so I tagged them for deletion. Thanks for pointing them out.

Last but not least, the characters page. I still feel as if it's a little too...thin for us to make these into separate groups, however, I guess you can go ahead and set the system up. Personally I still feel like it's too early to do that, but if you insist I don't see why not. But, before you go ahead and split apart the characters I would like to know how you're going to split them up. The_CrusaderTalkpage02:04:38_May 01, 2016

I should have kind of asked this in the first message but only now realized it: Want to help out with getting location pages' info? Now that me and Ned have added like 3Kish Daggerfall pages a ton of them need more info, not to mention the ones that already exist. Not saying you have to do this (Honestly, quest pages and whatnot are way better) but if you ever get bored the option does exist. :) The_CrusaderTalkpage02:24:42_May 01, 2016

Also, feel free to use the Daggerfall NPCs infobox (the one used for Nulfaga is pretty outdated, and will probably be removed sometime). Anyways, thanks for all your hard work! --Shockstorm (talk) 03:41, May 1, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Barenziah 3: The sequel Edit

Well we split all pages up by game mainly. Since Barenziah appears in Daggerfall and Tribunal we have pages for her character in each game, plus there is the lore page Barenziah for a more detailed explanation of her background. We split them up like this because there is game-specific content like dialogue for example, so putting it all on one page can be confusing. —Atvelonis (talk) 16:25, May 1, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Daggerfall Main QuestEdit

Hey Godzilla,

Main questline pages have always been a little bit thin of information for the older games. As for the naming of the quests, as far as I can find anyway there isn't any ingame (Although there is the manual, which I haven't looked at much as I should.) However, they should be there as to help out viewers with quests on a greater detail -although the quest pages themselves normally aren't the best either.

I'm going to work with trying to add Oblivion quotes as of late so I might not be adding Daggerfall content for a bit like before. However if you still have questions I will be hanging around and will be glad to answer. The_CrusaderTalkpage09:40:11_May 16, 2016

I'm aware. Many of the Elder Scrolls wikis (By the other wikis I mean our interwikis, such as ru:, not UESP and non-wikia sites) don't have the information as well. It's not that we need to delete the pages and whatnot, it's just we're still in need to have someone to take the time and fill out the main questlines + side quests, much like the state Online is currently in - except there's a lot less people working on this. The only real reason as to why we should delete these if is they're named wrong (moreso just move the page than delete,) as thin as they might be in terms of content. The_CrusaderTalkpage08:16:58_May 17, 2016

Re: Deletion Edit

Thanks for letting me know, I've deleted it now. Though in the future it might just be easier to tag it with the {{Delete}} template (I periodically go through the Deletion Candidates category to clean up this type of thing). —Atvelonis (talk) 01:43, May 24, 2016 (UTC)

Re: Little O-Little DEdit

Sorry if this might be late, had other obligations over the weekend. The "little o" is not just an O we made, it's actually a logo for the game. Daggerfall never had a logo nearly that small. The_CrusaderTalkpage01:06:34_May 31, 2016

Re: Names Edit

You had it right before he moved them. Since those items (the ones I moved back) have appearances in Arena, the (Daggerfall) was correct. So you're fine. --Shockstorm (talk) 21:36, June 1, 2016 (UTC)

Checking in Edit

Any chance you have the time to add more Daggerfall content to the wiki? Your edits in the past have been incredibly helpful in building up that area of the encyclopedia, so we'd love to have you back. —Atvelonis (talk) 19:21, November 11, 2017 (UTC)

Well. I never intended for my edits to drop off like they did, but Daggerfall is an incredibly finicky game to play and new content is hard to come by. I recently added a page for a quest, and had fun doing so, but quests are very hard to complete, as if you get into a dungeon that generates unpassable terrain, you can't leave the dungeon to get an item to clear it without your map de-generating, but if you save you're committed, and if that happens, and you don't have the time or gold to figure the convoluted mechanics out you're screwed... Bottom line, when I play Daggerfall again I will get new content if I find any. The story has come to a screeching halt for me though... -The Boy Who Cried Godzilla (talk) 01:23, November 13, 2017 (UTC)
Gotcha. Well anything you can add is greatly appreciated! Give me a holler if there's anything you need. —Atvelonis (talk) 00:47, November 20, 2017 (UTC)
