Hello The imperial battlemage, welcome to the Elder Scrolls Wiki! We're building a collaborative source of information for The Elder Scrolls, and we need your help!

We saw you making some changes to our articles and thank you for it. We hope you choose to further this project, and we hope to see you around in the future. If you choose to stay, here are some links to help you out:

I hope you enjoy editing here! If you have any questions, see the help pages or ask one of our administrators.

Images[edit source]

Hey Battlemage, in the edit you made here the reason the image did not show up is because there is currently no file called "Damoa-Hassi.png" on the wiki, so the infobox didn't know what to put there. The only way you can have an image on an article is if you or someone else uploads it. —Atvelonis (talk) 23:29, April 10, 2016 (UTC)

Imperial Legion[edit source]

Hey Battlemage!

I see that you're an Imperial. I think I know a lot about Imperial Legion lore (specifically in Skyrim), if you want to know my reasons as to why the Stormcloaks are wrong (I think I have like 14), please ask, if you ever debate Stormcloaks, they might turn out useful!

Let me know if you want them, that's all.

Greetings,

Blademaster Jauffre (talk) 19:18, May 7, 2016 (UTC)

Links[edit source]

You need to stop removing links from conversations, and preferably find something productive to do. --Shockstorm (talk) 21:55, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

You're mistaken about the policy. There's no reason to remove links from actual conversations. Furthermore, it doesn't help the wiki at all. --Shockstorm (talk) 22:00, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

RE: Edits[edit source]

Where's the proof that links can't be in quotes? Starkiller131 (talk) 22:05, May 17, 2016 (UTC)

Star is pointing out that it isn't wise to try to remove every single link from quotes from every page on the wiki, considering the amount of work that already needs to be done. Plus, it can be seen as badgehunting when you're only doing that and nothing else. --Shockstorm (talk) 22:07, May 17, 2016 (UTC)
It was discussed in the moot, and agreed on that links were not allowed in quotes.
And no, im not badge hunting, I just need something to do while im planning the de-stubbing of daggerfall
The imperial battlemage (talk) 00:13, May 18, 2016 (UTC)the imperial battlemage
That's quotes, not conversations. If you continue to do this, you're going to probably be blocked. --Shockstorm (talk) 00:29, May 18, 2016 (UTC)
I don't think I was clear enough in the policy. You just can't use links for quotes that are in the {{Quote}} template; if it's in a blockquote (in conversations) or regular text (like in the ==Quotes== section of a page), links are acceptable, but they should be limited generally. —Atvelonis (talk) 14:35, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

Re:Userpage[edit source]

I was removing nonexistent categories from your userpage, which you could've seen had you simply view the edit comparison. --Shockstorm (talk) 01:35, May 23, 2016 (UTC)

Light Armor redirect[edit source]

Hey IBM,

I don't exactly know what you mean by 'Light Armor probably shouldn't be linked twice' If you were referring to it being mentioned in its description and its class, it should be linked twice. As you can see on this armor page; http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Blades_Helmet_(Skyrim) The fact that it's heavy armor is also mentioned in its description and class. ESO, Imperial Legion project[edit source]

Battlemage, I don't know if you own ESO, but if you do, I might need you for a little project of mine, if you'd be willing to help. Greetings, Blademaster Jauffre (talk) 00:37, July 6, 2016 (UTC)

Of course you're allowed to help, if the project is still going when you return.
Blademaster Jauffre (talk) 21:28, July 10, 2016 (UTC)
The project is mapping out all of the territory held by the Imperial Legion during ESO. For example, I know the Legion holds half of Bangkorai so that's going to be marked as Imperial territory.

Block[edit source]

I'm letting you know now that you've been blocked for one week for another case of harassment towards users on the Discussions. Even if you believe someone is a complete idiot, you are not allowed to insult them. Please take the Discussions guidelines into consideration when commenting in the future. —Atvelonis (talk) 17:20, August 14, 2016 (UTC)

Channel review[edit source]

Hello Battlemage,

A while ago you told me you would be reviewing my video's for accuracy.

I would very much like to know the conclusion of that since I like getting feedback.

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMW69rckdtyHUqaOyBO_4zg

This is the channel I am talking about.

Re: Integrating Talos Enantiomorph Into The Tiber Septim or Talos Page[edit source]

You would have to discuss the Enantiomorph as it relates to both the Tiber Septim and Talos articles, not one or the other (also note that the sources most relevant to each differ between the two). I would describe this type of work as analysis more than theorizing. For example, with an understanding of what the Enantiomorph is, it becomes pretty obvious that the "ruling king" being explicitly referenced in the 19th and 34th Sermons of the 36 Lessons is in fact Tiber Septim—it's simply worded in a somewhat cryptic way. This is more a matter of understanding already-written material, not so much creating original research, so it's fine as long as you aren't actually introducing concepts that cannot be backed up by the source material. —Atvelonis (talk) 16:43, April 3, 2018 (UTC)

References[edit source]

Hey, when you add pretty much anything that isn't indisputably common knowledge you need to add a citation for it. For example, everything on the Timeline page needs to be cited, so your edit here is incomplete. This also applies to your edit on the dreugh page; I happened to catch where this was taken from but I can't do that every time. So please keep this in mind when adding content in the future. Thanks. —Atvelonis (talk) 23:30, April 4, 2018 (UTC)

I didn't remove the entry from the page, just added the {{fact}} template to it so that editors later on know that it needs a definitive citation. I'm guessing the info is from her dialogue, but considering it's not recorded on her page I'll keep the template on there for the time being. —Atvelonis (talk) 01:27, April 5, 2018 (UTC)

Re: A Hero's Weapon[edit source]

Yes, since that book only appears in ESO it would be reasonable to assume that the vast majority of readers are interested in ESO-related content. For a book that appears in multiple games, we would link to the disambiguation/lore pages rather than the game-specific pages. —Atvelonis (talk) 02:53, April 5, 2018 (UTC)

Capitalization[edit source]

There are a few crypts in Daggerfall that were erroneously miscapitalized; THe Crypts of Sish is one of them, and this is noted in the page's Trivia section. Even though it's not grammatically correct we still record this type of content verbatim, the same way we don't fix typos in books. —Atvelonis (talk) 21:21, April 5, 2018 (UTC)

Timeline redirects[edit source]

Hi, when you make a timeline redirect you have to have the section link within the brackets, otherwise it will not work properly (so like [[Timeline#2E 543]] instead of [[Timeline]]#2E 543). Also please remember to give these redirects the Timeline Redirects category. Thanks. —Atvelonis (talk) 22:17, April 6, 2018 (UTC)

Re: Starter Guide[edit source]

Yeah, we've never been exactly sure what to do with that page. It's been left alone for now because it acts essentially as a quest walkthrough (but for the game in general) and does therefore have some purpose. It's also important to note that that page is actually a couple months older than The Elder Scrolls Wiki, being a remnant of the OblivioWiki that came before. So for historical purposes I'm reluctant to delete or move it outright. —Atvelonis (talk) 04:52, April 7, 2018 (UTC)

Region links[edit source]

Hi IBM, your edits adding the "Regions (Daggerfall)" link are fine, but this is really something that a bot should be doing, not a person. It would be a much better use of your time to focus on adding content or doing other maintenance tasks that a bot would have trouble with. Thanks. —Atvelonis (talk) 23:22, April 30, 2018 (UTC)

Yes, I should be able to get it done later this week. Add it to my bot tasklist under "High priority" so I don't forget. —Atvelonis (talk) 00:04, May 1, 2018 (UTC)
Actually I think I misread the leads there. It's actually not necessary to have the link on location pages like that, unless the lead is specifically referring to the regions page in general. For example, saying "Daggerfall is a city in the region of Daggerfall" means that the focus of the sentence is actually not on the word "region," but instead on "Daggerfall." So having the link there is actually a little distracting. On a region page it would be a good idea to have it, e.g. "Anticlere is a region in High Rock." But for locations it's really just filler. —Atvelonis (talk) 22:40, May 3, 2018 (UTC)
This also applies to links like "Cities (Online)" when the point of the word is to introduce a city, not to talk about the concept of a city in general. So you should not still be adding this sort of link unless it's important to the sentence. —Atvelonis (talk) 21:56, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Re: Wise Woman (Lore)[edit source]

Rozty marked it for deletion. You will have to ask her what her reasoning was. I can restore it if necessary. The Cat Master (talk) 19:21, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

Hello, she actually left a reasoning on the "Delete" template: "Duplicate page, Wise Woman serves the same purpose". --Rupuzioks (talk) 19:34, May 4, 2018 (UTC)
Yes, all lore pages are without brackets, only for the games the articles are with brackets with game name inside them. --Rupuzioks (talk) 19:38, May 4, 2018 (UTC)

American English[edit source]

Hi, just an FYI that we tend to use American English on this wiki unless quoting something that was written in British English. This partially because both Bethesda and Wikia are American companies, and also because most of our audience is American. So just keep this in mind, and remember to use the American spellings instead of the British ones on ns:0. Thanks. —Atvelonis (talk) 05:56, May 6, 2018 (UTC)

Re: Dragon Breaks[edit source]

The Warp in the West and Time Wound have their own pages because they actually appear in a game (and thus they are much more well-known), so readers benefit from taking in the material from those events without the distractions of other such events. If readers are looking into the more obscure Dragon Breaks, they almost definitely want to learn about all of the Dragon Breaks, whereas those two are mainstream enough that many/most readers would only care about those particular events. —Atvelonis (talk) 21:24, June 18, 2018 (UTC)

Tonal Architecture[edit source]

Atvel asked me a few days ago to rewrite the page and I'll put my stuff up now, since it's at the bottom of your fairly ambitious to-do-list. I hope it doesn't cause any inconvenience. Nekyn Alb (talk) 20:07, September 30, 2018 (UTC)

Articles under construction[edit source]

Hi IBM, do you intend to finish writing any of the articles that you've marked as being under construction within the foreseeable future? If so, I would appreciate it if you did so! If not, it would be prudent for us to remove the notices as to not dissuade other editors from working on the pages in your stead. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. —Atvelonis (talk) 18:47, January 11, 2019 (UTC)
