The War of the Bend'r-Mahk was a war between Skyrim, Hammerfell, and High Rock that took place during the events of The Elder Scrolls Travels: Shadowkey.[2]
The conflict during the war was the cause of the creation of the Umbra' Keth.[3] In the war, the cities of Dragonstar and Elinhir fell into the hands of the Nords as they invaded Hammerfell.[4] Consequently, the city of Dragonstar itself was split into two, with the eastern part being controlled by Nords and western part being controlled by the Redguards.[5][6]
Eastern Hammerfell later made efforts to retake lands conquered by Skyrim during the war, though the Redguards were quite evenly matched against the Nords. At the very least Elinhir was retaken, as the High Prophet of Elinhir Ayaan-si years later supported the rebels of Totambu.[4] As a result of the war, the Nords reclaimed some of their ancestral territory in the Bend'r-mahk in High Rock.[7] A knight of Wayrest by the name of Sir Roderic fought in this war, and was said to have won many great battles.[8]
