Woodchopping
Woodcutting is a side-job performed in several villages and cities around Skyrim. A Woodcutter's Axe must be equipped in order to cut wood at a chopping block.
Yield
Three chops yields six units of Firewood. After successfully chopping three pieces, the chop block must be selected again, at which point, more wood is loaded onto the block and chopped. Roughly 108 pieces can be cut in 10 minutes and 20 seconds, which can be exchanged for 540 gold.
Employment
Woodcutting for pay.
- Hod in Riverwood pays 10 gold coins for every 2 pieces of wood cut.
- Hert, the Vampire, at the Half-Moon Mill buys chopped wood.
- Aeri at Anga's Mill, west of Windhelm employs woodcutters. She will work the mill next to the Woodchopping Block, eliminating the concern of becoming encumbered.
Assistance
Followers can use the Woodchopping Block to help gather wood, for seamless chopping. Nearby followers can also hold chopped wood, lessening the chances of becoming over-encumbered.
